I don't know how to exactly describe it, but back then everything had this feeling of genuinity and community to it. Look at Youtube for example. Back then it was full of videos shot on shitty camcorders or cell phones that were genuinely creative and funny. Now most of the big content creators shit out the same soulless garbage every day. Forums basically don't exist anymore. Memes are garbage now for the most part.

I feel like the old internet had this sincerity, when you and some other people from all over the world were doing stupid crap, obsessing over the same things, communicating using these cool new technologies and having fun together.
