I'm sorry if this post came off as loving TFA, but I don't. It bothers the absolute crap outta me how blatantly obvious the appealing to feminists and 'equality' is in this film. Sick of the female leads in these new SW films. The Kylo Ren wallpapers were just first in my folder 'cause they were the most recently saved.

yeah dude i thought you were going in a pretty strong awakens direction. Women can and should play more prominent roles in the sequels. Not Leia though. She's old. Rey is a badass who survived on her own. Finn's a rebel who makes me laugh a lot more than I thought he would. I enjoy them on screen together. I don't think they should devote that much runtime to romantic eye contact and degrassi bullshit, but I'd ship it.
and plus you know kylo ren is gonna have a huge redemption arc so we can all suck his dick together

I get that, I see where people would come to enjoy Rey.

But once Rogue One had a female lead I thought it was kind of ridiculous how obvious it was trying to appeal to equality.

I mean, J.J. Abrams had even stated in the "extra's" disc on TFA about how he "looked into the room and saw nothing but white" and that he basically wanted to cast a bunch of people of variety, (i.e skin color, sex, etc.) which kinda made me mad. You should cast people because they're GOOD at what they do, and if you absolutely NEED a female/black lead for the plot. NOT because you want to appeal to equality.
