Like, remove the gradients and mid shadows. For example make all the silhouette the same white and fix parts of the hair that look transparent. Also make the background less blurry, clouds with edges instead of gradients.
If you can't do both I'd prefer you fix the silhouette.

I reduced the girl to just black & white.
Then I "posterized" the image, restricting the palette to a handful of colors.
That wiped out all gradients.

Could someone extend her "equipment" so that I can use it in a wallpaper? Not necessarily on both sides, since I can slide the picture to the right and it would look OK for the right side to be cut off, but the left side obviously needs work.

GIMP has a function called "colour to alpha" which lets you select the jaggies and delete the background colour from them without deleting the strings themselves. Then you just superimpose it on the new background (don't try to use bucket fill).

This image doesn't look quite right even though it is the original. It reminds me of a bad mspaint resize. For this reason it appears that the edges or should I say outline of the girl look pixelated somehow. I might be wrong with the terminology but anyone can tell that somehow it isn't perfect. Could someone smoothen it so as to fix the rigid outlines. It is especially visible for her hair and helmet. Or maybe it's just me.

Yes, you have the right terminology.
She's pixilated. Especially bad at the edges. They aren't even continuous.
I'd guess she was scanned at too low a resolution.
I selected the white background, expanded the selection 1 pixel, then feathered it outwards another 1.
Copied selection to a new layer, blurred it a little, then set the new layer to "multiply".
Blurring smoothed the edges, but lightened them. Multiply restored the darkness.

Your file is huge because the scan interacted with the screentones to cover everything in Moire patterns.
Little localized black & white checkerboards, if you look closely. PNG is lossless, so it saves all of the unnecessary (really, unwanted) detail.
I Gaussian blurred it 0.8 pixels and the file shrank to 1.8 MEG. Converting it to grayscale reduced it even more.

Hi guys,
I know this might not be anime but could I get some help? All I need is the left side of the photo to be extended a bit. I have a 21:9 (2560x1080 left) and a 16:9 (1920x1080 right). If someone could extend the top "stream" on the left side so it trails off like the others that would be fantastic! Also, since I extended it from a 1700pixel wide image, the border where the original image and my retextured garbage meets on both sides do not match color-wise.
