The TIFF was several times larger.

I've already posted this in the vector thread but haven't gotten a reply yet so I figured I should try here too. I just need the symbol on the coffin taken out and cleaned up, preferably made all black but with the sections where the lines cross each other still visible. It's a simple pattern but I couldn't redraw it to save my life.

Also I apologize for the awful image quality, I've searched and searched but I can't find a better example of the coffin.

I could filter out the lines but the "+" marks had to be removed one-by-one.

I found 2 more which everyone missed.
But I can't see the one directly beneath the stripe on her right breast.

The lines: I use Corel PhotoPaint.
"Smart Blur" averages out subtle color variations without touching distinct edges.
Fortunately, I found a setting which did what I wanted.

i dunno about that. open the two pictures in separate tabs and then click between them. you'll notice things like the eyes seem more soulless and the green has lots of the shades removed. some shading was muted heavily and at least one line that was supposed to be there on her chest was removed.

Keyword is "distinct". The lines you talk about are not really that contrastive. All in all, he said he did it with just a filter. That's pretty good.

I retrieved the eyes from the original request, merged them in, and removed
unwanted artifacts with a brush. Now they have "soul" (whatever that is.)
If I'd had to do that amount of manual work on the entire image, I'd never have attempted it.

You might want to talk to the guys at the Minimalism thread. They can make a proper vector, that would be of perfect quality. Rendering this would only give you a low quality image, since there's lots of artifacts around.
