Before asking for a wallpaper, reverse image search it. This function is built into 4chan now. Its not hard to do.

If you want a pastel red icon set
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arandompackage.flatconsred

Maybe red or semi from this one
http://scope10.deviantart.com/art/Scopics-Icons-for-Android-353302716

Honestly if it were my screen I would custom color the icons. Finding any pack I liked with the wall, extracting the apk and editing the png files in it.
I'm not sure what color exactly though. Thats something I would find out just trying various colors in photoshop.
If you need help getting an apk link to it here and as long as its a free icon set sometime today I (or anyone feeling nice enough) will upload it somewhere for you.

>>1761191
That blue looks better. Lower the folder icon, app drawer icons under the clock. They have a lot of room below so they don't need to crowd the clock. Line them up so the middle of those two lines up with the middle of the email icon. Maybe even move the date down a bit as well. Pic is line I'm picturing.

Changed calendar and signal icons. Sizes and colors are not final.

Icons - flight white minimalistic icons - can be found on blackmart
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.natewren.flight

Toggles - power toggles widget
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc

I placed the widget inside the dock.

I can really reccomend my current calendar - DigiCal+ - way more options with colors, backgrounds and other stuff. You can even mod your own font into it. Also can be found on blackmart
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.calendarplus
Previous calendar is Today calendar.

The rest is zooper.
Previous signal icons which are based on .ttf font format icons.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55875066&postcount=707

I modded the font by basically copy pasting from http://zavoloklom.github.io/material-design-iconic-font/icons.html#file
If anyone wants them then
http://a.pomf.se/ndxqnq.zip
Change name to whatever you want then put zip into iconset folder then select from scalable iconset template.

coming from someone who believes less is more, the placement of the clock over kaga's hair is kinda irritating to me, as well as the bar it's in. I'd recommend moving the clock to the other side of the screen and getting rid of the bar entirely. 8/10
>>
>>1761271
>bruhs
I'd make the bar not cross over her hair, and move the clock to the right. Otherwise, not bad.
>>1761272
Nice, but that bright teal is extremely out of place. I'd also maybe invest in some drop shadows.

Dark Touhou wallpapers with thin white fonts seem to be a popular theme here. I'm not sure what to do with the app drawer. I thought about having a second screen with the same banner, but with a music widget and my app drawer, but I don't want to put anything in that I don't neccesarily need.

>>1761161

Very nice color coordination here, and I like that it's a banner without being blatantly a banner.

>>1761191

I think I would make better use of that rectangle there, there's a lot of empty space which could be used to un-crowd things just a bit. I like the wall a lot.

>>1761260

If your phone is black around the screen, black homescreens tend to look really nice in my experience

Source: HTC One M8 user

>>1761271

I think it'd look cool if you put the date vertically along the left side of the screen and put a simple clock in the top-right.

>>1761272

Try to do some color-matching here. When in doubt, stick with all white for widgets and icons. The bright blue in both really sticks out especially.

>>1761289

Cool idea, but I think you could get away with making your fonts a little bigger. Also, make your music widget white, and stick with one icon pack. The app drawer looks awkwardly different.

>>1761293

Super pretty! This is the kind of thing I'd be proud of. Is that a Deemo wallpaper?
>>
>>1761332
It just doesn't neccesarily go with the wallpaper. Possibly you could take the app drawer from the white icon pack you used, make it red using any photo editing tool, and that would make it stand out against the other icons and the music widget (if you made the music widget white).
>>
>>1761333
Sorry, I deleted that but I wanted to point out that the music widget kind of goes nicely with the greyish surrounding the app drawer has.

But your idea sounds way better, thanks.

Any suggestions?
>>
>>1761225
I would make her smaller, so there is more negative space and a better balance visually. A higher quality of that wallpaper would help to. Its got a lot of blurred, jagged edges and artifacts all over.

>>1761260
As already hit on, a higher res of the characters will be better than a darker background color. Personally I like the current one. No guarantee it will look good but play with some of the blending options to add some effect to the characters if you are looking for something more visually.

>>1761271
Shrink her down a bit so her head clears the line under the clock or move the clock to the right side of the screen.

>>1761272
Get a color scheme going. Replace the blue in the clock with the lighter reddish purple from the wallpaper. The same goes for the icons. They really don't fit in with those colors (except the twitter app)

>>1761289
Same suggestions from last thread, use consistent fonts, make the app drawer match the rest, if you can brighten up the music widget controls.

>>1761293
very nice. I like the glow effect on the icons as well as the light text.

>>1761325
It looks good. If you aren't sure where to put it, make the app drawer a gesture or mask the icon with a transparent one. Its the only thing that looks out of place here.

>>1761341
What?

>>1761369
>>1761325

>>1761370
Is that logo part of the wallpaper or is it added through the widget, or directly to the wallpaper image by you? The fuzzy outline on the logo next to the crisp text for the date, and clock, and especially the icons. The box around the date portion also looks odd. Its not totally visible all over so it feels forced and out of place.

>>1761373
I think I have a vector of the logo if you want to use that. It will most likely be much cleaner looking.

>>1761380
Nope, just recognize a character. I do have the deemo unit from the collaboration event that ran in brave frontier though

>>1761427
Those white icons don't look good to me. Using a pink (from her dress) I think would look better.
I also think its weird the wallpaper supposedly isn't pixilated when the icons and nav bar look just fine. A screen shot shouldn't do that an image.

>>1761428
I like it. Is the clock using the same yellow from the vespa?

>>1761431
Oddly its a lot sharper here. Why are you waiting to root before you make a widget or too?

>>1761432
Not that I'm aware of. Much like the hidden rice thing I messed with a while back you might be able to set up something with tasker.

>>1761440
I would shrink the image a bit and put all the icons onto one side. Then I would make a custom clock to set off in the white area as well so its not over the character.

>>1761450
Use an icon pack like tiny white, or stamped white rather than min(?) that doesn't have the drop shadow/beveled edge. Because there is little to no space between your clock's text use more contrasting colors, either darker shades of gray, or maybe even the blue from her hair.

>>1761452

quickest solution I would try is zooper gallery and find a few widgets that display the info you want / with bars or circle graphs then edit the size & colors to your specs
I wouldn't worry too much about it,
if you're anything like me you'll change your whole UI/wallpaper soon anyways after you get bored of it

I stayed on my last rice for well over 2 years, albeit it was a simple, functional one that still used the notification bar because I still have the same problem. Don't know how to get cellular/wifi displayers.

Anyway, I'll try what you suggested. Thanks for tip
>>
>>1761488
If I'm remembering correctly (and was following the conversation correctly) in the IRC the guy that posted that screen said it was a font that made the wifi and signal indicators in zooper as a widget.

>>1761494
Its still a pretty empty wall.

>>1761496
Its a widget, not the notification bar.

>>1761501
I think it looks better that way. As far as the keeping it or hiding it on a double tap thats up to you. Its not that bad just staying there.

>>1761503
I know its not much help and it all comes down to personal preference, but why do you need the wifi and signal on the home screen? Unless your notification bar is hidden on the lock screen you will see both before you use the phone, and even when hidden most of the time a simple swipe from the top of the screen will show it for a second or two. Its also present when most apps are open. Just curious.

7/10 I don't like it. It's very clean and polished, but like a lot of the screens you post, the theme doesn't make sense. Why would there be a shadow behind a portion of the night sky. Why would a portion of the sky be on the ground? In a phrase, it's just not natural.

>>1761440
5/10 No cohesive theme. Same color != good fit. You've got minimal flat icons but the clock isn't (notice the shadow) whilst the wall itself looks like a detailed hand-drawn sketch. The wall is pretty blurry as well.

>>1761450
6.5/10 Not bad. Get some flat icons like tiny white. I hate text widgets but I'll put that aside. Looks incredibly messy though. Probably get all the text aligned left or right. Keep the font sizes consistent across lines; using bolds/accent colors to distinguish important words looks better than differing font sizes.

>>1761452
5.5/10 There's nothing happening. Blue badge is really out of place. Very empty screen.

>>1761471
7/10 There's nothing particularly wrong with it but still I don't like it. Probably because it looks a bit too busy. idk

>>1761483
>>1761485
wg/10 It's not a good wg screen either. Take a look at nice WP screens like >>1759332 or >>1759482 and see if you're inspired to make something better.

>>1761501
5.5/10 At least you had the decency to try and do something (with the banner). Overall just looks really lazy and unpolished though, with the cut off wall, non-themed banner, lack of widgets etc etc. I'm not saying that these features always make something look bad, but in this case it does. Color is good, but you just need to work on everything more.

>>1761503
7/10 I like the tech theme you've got going on with the widget. Some of the space on the top/left could be used better but it's still a cool look. I don't think it really matches the wall and icons though. That particular image seems to lend itself more to minimalist/elegant styles, but if you can find a way to make your icons match the widget it might look less out of place.
>>

>non-themed banner, lack of widgets etc etc. I'm not saying that these features always make something look bad, but in this case it does.
Can you elaborate here? What makes a "themed" banner, what kind of widgets are needed? If you go for minimalism wouldn't less widgets meet that look better? What if you don't have a use for the widgets anyway? Isn't that just a useless waste of space?

>>
>>1761516
A themed banner would be one with visual elements which tie into the background image apart from just color. In your case it the banner is really generix; just a blue rectangle. If you were going for true minimalism you'd be more focused on getting the finer details perfect e.g. high res wall, better icon placement etc. If you really don't need any widget don't force it, but right now it looks pretty empty and a good clock would probably fill the space better and look nice. tbh I don't really think you're gling anywhere with that wall, I'd suggest finding a better, high res one and working around that.

>>1761517
For that wall: perhaps. But I actually really like that widget, it just doesn't go with the wall. I'd love to see that widget find a nice wall to suit it in the future.

All right >>1761193 here

The tl;dr way to put those icons in is to put the zip from http://a.pomf.se/ndxqnq.zip into iconsets folder (1) then select scalable icon set module (2) then select from iconset (3) then select iconset mode. pic rel

There are 3 known ways for me to visually display signals in zooper. All use the same calculation method.

First are scalable icon sets which are based on fonts. They are in the iconsets folder inside a .zip where there is only the font .otf or .ttf format plus a configured XML file that sets it. I have no idea how the XML works. They use #NWSIG# and #NCSIG# values and conditions

#NWSIG# - scales wifi signal strength from a 0-9 scale
#NCSIG# - scales cellular signal signal in ASU from 0-31

also
#NCSIGN# - cellular signal in dBm. I have no idea how to calculate strenght from that but apparently ASU already does that.

So basically the xml tells zooper to check the signal and based on it's value - if it's greater than a defined number on that scale, it will display an different icon.

anyways first way is to use fonts which are way more clean due to being vector graphics so you can change size and color.
second way is to use bitmap icons which cant be changed all that much. Plenty of those are on XDA.

Third way was used by myself until recently. It's by using a progress bar module. Where you set the current value of the bar with #NCSIG# and the min max value of 0-31 and #NWSIG# with 0-9 min max value.
Just put a rectangle around the bar and its ready.
altough i removed it because it was a bit too clutttery way to display singal.

It's plebs because I put the wall first on /g/ :^)
Eventflow is toggable but not that much customizable so blame digiCal+ for that eventflow and settings button. I don't think you can suggest a better widget than theirs though.

I like having the signal icons on the homescreen as I feel it's integral to it being a phone. Every phone I had in my life showed it so it's like an obligation. It's just that I don't like kitkats status bar on the homescren and I can't really remove the dark shadow thing. Plus I like to have it crammed when I'm in apps.

>>1761547
>icons are in a dock and cant really much change their position
How do they look if you hide the dock and just place them on the homescreen? From what I've seen docked icons sit much lower than the rest of the grid and it will let you play with the rows for a better fit. Cropping or a slight edit will be the easiest in the long run though.

I would use an icon set like tiny white that doesn't have that green/gray background. I also think the widget text is too close to the red/brown used for each rectangle. Again here I would use either white, or a darker red, and lighter brown.

Do you have an example of this? Every banner I've seen is just some colors from the wallpaper, or that complement the wallpaper. Exactly what this guy has. I really love your rice so I actually looked up colors that would go well with it so here goes.

If you're gonna keep the text in the circle white, #242b8b and #3d45a1 work pretty well.
If you want to make the text dark or black, then #7e84cf (this one works pretty nicely with light text as well), #aeb2e7, #ffd667, #e9bc41, and #c89a1c are really good.

Also I've been looking all over for your wallpaper but I can find it so could you post it please?

8/10 This is really nice. Try and get the circle aligned properly with equal margins. If you can, probably try to make it bigger as well so more hair covers it thus making the layering more obvious. I'm not sure if you've got an inner shadow in the circle right now, but if you do, you could probably make it more obvious. If you don't, including one should look very nice. Looking forward to seeing this with the adjustments.

>>1761600
7/10 Floor plan wall is interesting. Borderless, black, translucent icons to match the widgets would be better. For the green room I'd say just split the four icons in the yellow room between the two i.e. 2 each. The lack of font size consistency between the widgets really irks me though, try and do something about it.

>>1761638
5.5/10 The shadow is an improvement but I still don't like the disjointed layout. No real idea on how to work with this so good luck dude.

>>1761734
8/10 Thank god you god rid of the random sky on the bottom LOL. Still not a fan of the random shadow but whatever. Icon placement is okay, but the lockscreen got worse. I really liked the blurring effect you've always used. Layout isn't too great either, especially the slider. Maybe rotate the battery to be horizontal and slide it in between the date and day of week. Then put the slider in the middle below it all for a stepped look. And pls bring back the blur.
>>
>>1761739
8.5/10 Very clean. I think a thin, sans-serif font would look better than the digital one you've got here though. To get that elegant look going. As for the app drawer problem why not make an invisible hotspot?

>>1761746
7.5/10 Triangle is interesting. Battery % looks out of place with the icons, would probably fit better in the triangle. Same thing with the WhatsApp badge, numbers look out of place. Date should probably go higher and closer to the time, the ends of it get too close to edges of the triangle. Overall its quite clean and polished though, which is more than I can say for a lot of the screens posted here. Hope you don't mind the nitpicking, I just want to see it the best it can be.

>>1761824
7/10 It's nice how you kept that portion of the background. The girl is cut off really awkwardly though, you need to show more of her! Clock placement is terrible; its touching her leg. Clock itself isn't much good either so try making something yourself.

If you notice on the image there's actually a lot of free space on the left side so I'd probably put the icons down there.

If you want to learn I think it'd be useful to show you some good examples (pic related). Commentary below.

1. Themed banner. It's a simple no frills banner, but by taking the texture from the image to fill it looks amazingly natural. Font choice is questionable (I would have preferred a solid one) but it's a great banner example.
2. Another banner. Notice the layered effect with the girl covering the banner. Most of the time this looks great and it was used in the previous screen as well. Colors match up well, clock placement makes use of the space and the circular battery to fit in with the icons is a nice touch.
3. Minimal banner. Taking shades of green from the image and putting it on a nice bordered banner. Just putting on a plain, rectangular banner often looks pretty lazy, but something simple like a border improves it greatly.
4. Character-centric, minimalist banners. Colors taken from the girl look great. Notice the use of layering here; it's very good. Banners are consistent and span across all three pages. Left is a bit too full and font consistency would be nice but overall it's still a great rice.
5. Wall-centric minimalism. Pixel theme from the wall well executed over the icons and widget. Usually minimalist styles tend to shy away from widgets to avoid clutter like you said, but sometimes the wall has too much empty space like here, so the clock widget is used to fill the space nicely. It's also more functional to at least know the time and battery status.
6. Wall-centric minimalism. Unlike the previous one, the theme isn't pulled from the wall. Instead, a simple widget is overlayed to keep the wall visible. An interesting shape is used here, and it fills the empty space well.

tl;dr try to get a theme going when ricing to make everything look natural. If using a banner add a border or something to keep it interesting.

How are any of those banners excluding the top left with a little noise added any different than the blue one added to the Misty rice? Why does a "themed" banner have to pull colors from the wallpaper's image and not just use complementary/contrasting colors?

>>1761846
Holy shit thats an old guide. It needs updated to match the new uccw UI. Everything in it is still correct, just not in the same places.

>>1761888
That widget is a move in the wrong direction. Your wallpaper has soft colors and outlines so that bold sharp font and color doesn't fit it. its also just too much stuff at one time.

>>1761893
Zooper, UCCW, maybe even Minimalistic Text. You just have to build it.
>>
>>1761910
1. They're solid. Which for the most part looks better than translucent like on the Misty one.
2. They're not just a single flat color. Accent colors are used on borders.
3. They go all the ways to the end and look like actual banners. The Misty one just looks like a blue rectangle slapped on.
4. The layering effect (1, 2, 4) which makes it a lot more interesting and look a lot less lazy.

Colors are usually pulled from the image because it's easier to do that then find complementary/contrasting colors which still look good and natural on the wall. Not to say it's impossible, but most of the time it's just harder so I'd recommend pulling colors to avoid bad combinations. If you really want to you can go ahead with different colors but the chance of failure and frustration is much higher.
>>
>>1761913
>They're solid. Which for the most part looks better than translucent
Depends on the rice. It has a soft art style as noted >>1761912 so a bold solid banner would be out of place. She also uses water pokemon so the transparent blue looks more like water.
>They're not just a single flat color. Accent colors are used on borders.
You can hardly see the accent color on number 2, and the rest are a solid 2 color setup. Visually its not a giant leap.
>They go all the ways to the end and look like actual banners
What if you want the "icon dock" look not the banner look? Why does everything with an icon background get pigeonholed into the banner look?
>The layering effect (1, 2, 4) which makes it a lot more interesting and look a lot less lazy.
The transparency effect does the same thing. Both ways are just as easy and they both look like a lazy cop out.
>Colors are usually pulled from the image because it's easier to do that then find complementary/contrasting colors
Color theory isn't that hard, and there are plenty of websites that find them for you if you suck at it. His wallpaper also has blue on it anyway so what color are you expecting him to use? The orange from her hair?

I'm not trying to fight or argue this. I'm just looking to better understand the lines between a good and bad rice.

>I'll wake you
That's kinda cute.
>>
>>1761893
Why would even want that info anywhere near the homescreen.

Clutter galore.
>>
>>1761915
>I'm just looking to better understand the lines between a good and bad rice.
To be honest I can't really put it into words. All the points you make are completely valid, and by your logic that particular rice /should/ be as good as the examples I showed, but to my eyes it is nowhere near as nice. I don't judge rices by a certain criteria of whats bad or good, but rather look at it as a whole and try and justify why I think something looks a certain way afterwards. In the end this is all very subjective so perhaps what looks like shit to me is perfect to another person. "One man's trash is another man's treasure"

If you really do want to understand the difference between nasty and nice better, experience is the way to go. Lurk threads to see what people like and don't like, then try and make something that you think is nice based on that. From there people can give you valuable feedback on whats good or not which will help you in future rices and your overall understanding.

>>1761917
Another thing I just noticed is that the images aren't the same size on left vs right i.e. Firefox & messaging are smaller than twitter, pandora and love live. You should probably fix that up. For the matching images I think it would look fine even if they didn't have anything to do with the shortcut. Whatever you decide to do, good luck with your image hunt dude.

I'll probably change walls once I get bored,
I figured out how to add fonts so the floodgates are open

as far as rice goes:
its all relevant information to me as I drive with my phone on my dash in a case, I'm a lyft/uber driver in southern California so location info +phone temp is a big deal.. no phone =no work (I've lost customers because my phone overheated in the sun before)
>>
>>1761955
Why put it on the dash? surely there is a place on the middle console that is a just as accessible but in a location that doesn't get as hot. Turning the notification sound up would help as well so you don't have to physically see the phone screen to know something needs your attention. With how small that font is along with the style on the text it can't be easy to read from the driver's seat anyway.
>its all relevant information to me as I drive
You need to know the cpu clock speed, ram, wifi access and uptime at all times for your job?

>what I would LOVE is to be able to edit my notification bar and have it show wifi/cpu strength but I'm pretty sure without root I'm out of luck....
They should show this on their own. If you want the exact values check the settings some times its there. its almost a standard feature for custom roms and if you are rooted it is something gravity box can add.
>I do need cpu/ram since switching to Verizon, all their droid models are bogged down by unnecessary bloat..
so it's an indicator of how much BS is running in the background
And that matters how? If you are driving around for work you don't need all the memory your phone has or its cpu power. When you use the phone the os will kill tasks as needed to free up resources.

Not a bad first time but as with every screen there are improvements that can be made. The red is a bit dark for the weather, and next to the other screens stands out a bit too much because the rest are all white.

>>1761934
Its not much of a change but it does make a big difference.

>>1761947
the gray and white is a bit odd with the blue to pink gradient. Making the image either solid white or a gray scale image might look better.

>>1761969
The widget on the top left screen isn't centered the best, it sits really close to the top vs the bottom of the dark gray section. The purple only being on the far right widget looks odd. If you can bring that purple out to the other screens as an accent it will look better. I like that Asuka image, nice sharp lines, it gives a clean look.

6/10 Feels like 12-year-old: the phone. I know its the Dai Gurren Dan logo and it was a good show, but flaming skull + gradient + black background gives a strong amatuer feel. If you do insist on using this style though, here are some suggestions for improvement: Lower logo so the widgets don't touch it. Make the weather widget white to match the other widgets. Use the thin version of whatever font you're using across all the widgets. 69/126 really isn't needed on the music widget. Get rid of the gradient on the logo. Probably get rid of the banner as well, there's nothing there for the icons to need to be differentiated from.

>>1761934
8.5/10 Looks very nice. Something about the clock widget bothers me though, probably about the spacing. Don't exactly know what to do to fix it though. Still looks good as is though.

>>1761969
7/10 Inconsistent fonts are the bane of my existence. C'mon son, get that fixed up. Apart from that it's not too bad; clock could be a bit bigger, system info a bit smaller, but that's about it. Not much to be said about a Scope clone. Music widget is nice though.

>>1762013
6/10 I liked the other one much more. And I can't really look past it because all I see is a cheap knockoff. Nothing is really working here, not the clock, not the battery, not the icons. I want to help but I just like the original too much. Sorry anon.

>>1762071
4/10 That wall is terrible. The layout isn't much better either. That particular premade calendar almost never looks good on anything. Icons are really lazy and the clock is just there. I'd suggest starting over, or at least getting a new wall because that really is the worst part.

>>1762111
5.5/10
>2 clocks
I can tell that you tried to get a consistent theme going but it really falls flat here. Status bar is way out of place, as is the dock divider. Battery and clock are tiny and just sort of there, making the whole thing very empty, especially with the black background. I'd suggest getting a proper wall at least with a character/landscape/proper subject matter which fills at least half the screen. And get rid of the status bar.

>>1762117
6/10 Icon placement is lazy and the music player is just kinda there. I hate text widgets but if you insist on using them I think it would looks better without the banner up top, with the music player and icons down the bottom on a banner.

>>1762171
7.5/10 Better. Get rid of the album art on the music player for full white only theme. "from" and "by" are really useless as well. And shift those two lines up so there isn't a huge gap between them and the track title. Icons would probably look better a bit lower and closer to the line. As an overall suggestion more continuity in the layout across the two screens would be nice as there isn't much tying them together right now apart from the color.

>>1762146
I didn't have anything else to say that wasn't said and left untouched from last time it was posted. Your clock and icons are to sharp and bold next to the soft edges of the wallpaper and banner.

>>1762171
The white does look better, its a nice improvement. I like this screen.

>>1762175
>it look pink but then again it could just be the picture
If you open it up in photoshop and use the eye drop tool to sample the color it sits right on the border of a light pastel purple and a bright dark shade of pink. It could be called either color.

>>1762216
If you are changing walls you are going to need a new clock. Unless you stick with the anime render over a solid color look so you can always clear the widget.

>>1762225
That wallpaper is really pretty, dem thighs, dem autumn trees. If you can move that clock up off her face it would be perfection for ios in my book.

>>1762277
>does this still work even with lockscreen stuff layered over it?
Most of the time it will. A lot the screens here are done up pretty minimal as well so the whole 3 icons on screen will do nothing for image searching.

Updated it a bit and changed the color to a different pink/purple. It's hard with the music/weather widget since they don't give me an exact number to input just a color slider so they might be a bit off. Also took what >>1762185 said and made the fonts a bit more similar.

I disagree. I think that would put too much emphasis on the banner. The grey right now is subtle and perfect. If any color change were to be made, taking the lighter gray from her bag would be the best choice.

Ultimately all that matters is whether or not you like what you've done or not. It doesn't matter if other people say its shit, because you're the one using it, not them. If you think they have a fair point though, then you should do something about it rather than trying to make silly justifications. [/rant]

>>
>>1762561
Its not bad, but the solid black is very boring. Play with adding some color to it.

>>1762366
You should go back to that old pink. The neon thing you have now isn't a good fit.

>>1762594
The blurred background could look good, but in this particular case its not as good.

>>1762598
>can gimp do this?
Look for an 'eye dropper' icon. Or just press the 'o' key.
>it doesn't look blurred in person anon ;_;
Pulled up on my laptop or phone that wallpaper looks fuzzy. Its not as bad on the phone, but using a solid black font color just makes it look that much blurrier.

>>1762596
Stock AOSP at the moment. I've messed with holo locker and widget locker. I'm checking out Echo right now.

>>1762617
IMO its not the alarms that is making it look cluttered. Its the amount of other things that others have pointed out as useless like the cpu and ram. If you are going to make the battery bar blue use the same blue as your clock. Its dark enough to read on a white background. Rather than a solid black font pull the color her outline uses in the darker parts. Starting with this one (#9f929b) just play around with darker/lighter values till you can read it. The font also makes it look cluttered because its not a clean font. Using a sans serif font will help clean that up. Droid sans as suggested is a great font.

>>1762621
Looks good. I would use a solid font to go with the icons and character image but that's just me.

>>1762623
Both tasker and the app fivewallpapers could set a wallpaper rotation for the emotion thing.

>>1762629
You might because the stock Samsung camera app is made for that specific camera hardware. In jumping from stock to custom roms with my s3 I didn't notice enough of quality loss to make it really matter. If you want I can upload a picture I took and you can judge the quality yourself. As for roms why do you want to switch? What do you want to get out of it?

hide the notification bar, use less columns on the home screen, that's why some icons are getting cut on the sides. Theme the app drawer icon as well, just long press on it to manually theme it. Mask that google folder with one icon to represent whats in it. That stacked look is bad. Hide the icon labels, an icon shouldn't need text to tell what it is. Hide the dock divider and page indicator.
