Should I be playing Final Fantasy 2, 3, 5 (Anthology) English or 4, 5, 6 Japanese English Translation?
That's Chinese.
If you care about the original meaning you should play it in Japanese.
>>3390238
Learn Japanese for 10 years or just read the fan translation?
>>3390254
Learn Japanese by playing games.
Anyone play this?
>>3389947
yes.
Not actually all that straightforward. I haven't played it in a few years, but I remember it being pretty challenging. You're a cop, but you aren't chasing the criminals, they're chasing you because you're a mouse and they're all cats. you're only invulnerabl to them when they're being distracted by the lure toy, knocked out by slamming a door in their face (each door only works once and some only from one direction) and while you're all on the trampoline.
Anyone know anything about the sequels?not retro, but the webtoon was pretty good
Yep. It was my sister's game when she was little...was way too challenging for her.
Pretty solid

>each door only works once and some only from one direction
You can slam the door as many times. It's the siren thing that only works once.
I have a bunch of rare games, but I can't help but feel one day I'll get robbed. It's a constant fear, especially since I live in an apartment.
how does /vr/ protect their pricey vidyas?
Nobody is going to steal your video games, maybe in 50 years when they're antiques. The perceived value you think they have thanks to eBay scalpers isn't actually real, and no thief is going to bother stealing a bunch of dusty boxes on the off chance one of them is worth a hundred bucks.
>>3389843
3/10 made me smile.
No one is going to steal any video games that isnt from the PS3 and above era. Gamestop and most pawn shops wouldnt buy the shit.
Is this a good game?
>>3389402
yeah man, it was ahead of its time
Mixed bag. It's a good puzzle game in that the puzzles aren't "use every item on everything until you find the solution" variety. It's a bad graphical adventure in that the puzzles are all almost childishly simple. While avoiding the illogical trap most graphical adventures fall into, it walked right into a lack of challenge.
That being said, it's very atmospheric with a great soundtrack and unique visuals. I personally prefer the look and gameplay of realMyst, but go with whatever version you prefer.
Riven remained logical while avoiding the too-easy trap, so you might wanna try that.
>>3389405
>it was ahead of its time
Hahahaha, no. The Journeyman Project came out before and did the whole pre-rendered images thing while Cyan was messing around with The Manhole.
Is the PSP version good?
No belt scroller thread up?
What are you playing, /vr/?
>>3389297
You mean lasagna cruiser?
You mean Nigger Beater
You mean conveyor punch.

I loved this game. Soooo hard, but fair and rewarding for 12year-old me,
>>3389063
Stop fucking shilling your shit here. It can only end in bad things. The only reason why I've said this is because I fucking love Gargoyles Quest.
>>3389063
No. That whimsical glockenspiel shit needs to be retired.
In the face.
MAME ?
Thank you
>>3388903
it's not retro
Great oldschool developer, or...
Greatest oldschool developer ever?
There's a pair of guys around here that hate Treasure with all their might, mostly due to /stg/ shitposting and contrarianism, I guess.
But yeah I agree, Treasure were based. Later non-retro stuff by them like Omega Factor and S&P2 is also outstanding. Too bad they haven't done anything new for a while, but I have hopes they will do a come back one day and makeAlien Soldier 2

>There's a pair of guys around here that hate Treasure with all their might, mostly due to /stg/ shitposting and contrarianism, I guess.
How in the hell is it even possible to hate Treasure?
>>3388915
something-something-gimmicks and something-something ikaruga is overrated by normies it's not like my [insert cave/raizing/zun/whatever other dev that isn't treasure's game]
It's a minority, but they're here and will post as soon as they see Treasure's logo in the catalogue. So be aware of these trolls and don't reply to them.
Gave that bitch an egg. Bitches love eggs.
Are there any other games with mellow slice of life vibes like Story of Mio? Even though you kill that fucking critter like a thousand times while playing through, the stakes feel low all the time.
I hear Katawa Shoujo is pretty good for what you're looking for
What are good games for ZX81 and ZX Spectrum?
Is it true that Russians are still using Spectrums?
>>3388729
>Is it true that Russians are still using Spectrums?
Is this 1995?
Japanese computers > American computers > Europoor computers
Even though it's a pretty crap machine the actual case design of the speccy is aesthetic as fuck
Underrated sequels
After playing the Japanese version with an English patch it immediately became my favorite in the series.

Does Ash do it for you?
>>3388612
Not him, but the fairer gradient of difficulty is was done it for me
>IS IT THE SHOES?
Also, why is the Saturn port of T.E objectively the best home version of the game?
How come that the SNES versions of both NBA JAM and TE never had in-game music?

CANT BUY A BUCKET!!!!
What's a good RPG with lots of micromanaging? Like Final Fantasy Tactics where having the right gear, jobs, levels, birth signs, and color of underwear for the most efficiency.
>>3388392
Ogre Battle.
If you want something very hands-on, Jagged Alliance 2.
>>3388397
Well I'm not actually after a tactical rpg, just an rpg with lots of stats, gear, min-maxing, whatever.
>>3388403
>Min maxing
Shin Megami Tensei is good for this.
