How much can I get on this console and games? Average price.
It's perfectly functional and all the games work
>>3423426
About $15. Next time do your own research.

If you knew, why did you ask?
It's '95. You're in the arcade waiting in line to play some KI. It's finally your turn. Who do you choose to reign supreme victory?
>Is that an Indian? I bet he'll take me to the YMCA!

No Im not.
This is what made the pricing bubble go insane in 2013 on yes?
>>3422715
the internet in general made the price go up.
>>3422728
was pretty stable until 2012, nice meme

Where do you guys get your screwdrivers from for opening up Nintendo 64, GameBoy, DS, GBA, 3DS, Wii U, SNES, etc. from?
What are some trusted sellers and brands? Preferably on eBay or anywhere that accepts PayPal.
>>3422338
Amazon
>>3422348
Any particular brand or seller?
>>3422349
No. They're cheap as fuck. If one breaks, just buy another. That said, I bought a pair 4 or 5 years ago and I've had no problems with them.
Who Build here?
I have fond memories of playing Duke3D back in the day. It was fun to play around in the map editor but the textures became quite limited after a while.
Shadow Warrior was pretty cool. Some good engine enhancements and the textures/sprites were well done. Good tasteless humour. Just finished Wanton Destruction, some good maps like the airplane one, now on to Twin Dragon.
Blood was a fun game, good creepy atmosphere but a lot of the level design and artwork was uninspired. Also the difficulty with the cultists and the endless save scumming. Not sure I would rush to play it all again.
OP here, just realised how much I used the word "good", what a fag...(slightly drunk)

> It was fun to play around in the map editor but the textures became quite limited after a while.
You can achieve any theme you want with DN3D's stock textures.
The beauty of Build, is that you can do a lot with textures. You can use floor/ceiling textures on walls and vice versa (unlike in Doom), you can even use textures as sprites (and vice versa). Then there is a lot of reedom given to texture alignment and repeat (stretching or shrinking the texture), as well as transparency effects, and different colour palettes.
On top of that, DN3D's textures are very versatile.
Look at these for instance:
http://www.scent-88.com/reviews/H/happyhang/happyhang.php
http://www.scent-88.com/reviews/S/sieb/sieb.php
http://www.scent-88.com/reviews/R/roch8/roch8.php
http://www.scent-88.com/reviews/J/jac/jac.php
This is just a sample, but it's one of the reasons why it's a lot less common for DN3D maps to use custom textures than it is for Doom.
Is Eduke32 the best way to play DN3D nowadays?
What is a game you're proud to know everything about and can play flawlessly?
Revenge of Shinobi and pretty much every classicvania.
Star Fox 64.

Ecco the Dolphin and King of Fighters '98
Also Monster Hunter 1, but that's not retro.
>tfw someone near me says "NES" or "SNES" as if it's a word instead of just spelling it out like a normal well adjusted person.
>he says S N E S like a sperg
>instead of saying sness
Saying "N-E-S"/"S-N-E-S" or Nintendo/Super Nintendo is fine.
"Ness" and "sness" are stupid as hell.
>>3421235
>mfw millennial Brits say "Genesis" or "S-N-E-S" because of the internet
>it's also becoming more common to use non-words like "gotten"
The lowest of the low.
How did this become the best selling non-bundled Genesis game?

I owned this. It lives up to its praise. Plus it was animated by real Disney animators which made it feel like you were really playing the movie.

Does anyone else feel that DKC 2 isn't as good as 1? The platforming feels more timid with level design, and the game feels too forgiving with spacious enemy placement. Getting the coins feels unsatisfying as they're simple to get and don't require skill, mostly fast paced movement. Don't get me wrong DKC 2 is still a well made game, but it doesn't seem as challenging and rewarding as DKC

Who cares loser

What's the difference between this version and the other one?
It doesn't even work for me, all it does is throw an unhandled exception and close. Trying to play on a netbook with Intel Atom CPU and Intel GMA graphics, WinXP OS. Is such a setup supported? The readme speaks only of a DX9.0 requirement (which is trivially satisfied unless you're running pre-SP2 XP or older).
>>3418976
Have you tried running it in compatibility mode for other operating systems?
Previous thread >>3393957
This thread is for the spirited discussion of CRT displays - Televisions, monitors and projectors used for the playing of retro games!
>Try to keep it /vr/-related: Nothing past 5th gen(+Dreamcast). Slight OT might be okay if related to CRTs (E.G. 16:9 compatible models, flatscreens, etc.) Systems with backwards compatibility are also pretty safe territory, assuming you're focusing on the older games. PC CRTs are also a-ok.
>Produce OC! Get out your real cameras and take beautiful pictures of your CRTs displaying recognizable characters with the kind of beautiful accuracy that brings tears to the eyes of young and old alike! If you take 100 photos, at least one of them will turn out alright! (maybe)
>Try to be as detailed as possible when asking info on a specific model. As always, google is your friend, and we are your friends with benefits. Older archived threads aren't a bad place to look either.
>Share appreciation for others choice of technology and personal philosophy of gaming. As always show courtesy in your discussion and moderate yourselves first.
Discussion of video processing and scaling devices is okay, but try to keep the focus on CRTs and CRT accessories

No idea what to play lately. Thinking about replaying PDS in Japanese for moonrune studies. God I love PDS. My favorite game.
Remember never to fall for the scart meme.
>>3416854
So, lets say I want to make direct console - BNC cables for use with Extron switch and PVM.
Not really because of "memes" but because 10 female SCART - BNC connectors are going to look silly.
Using Megadrive 1 as example, I need 8-pin DIN, BNC connectors and crimping tools. And 75 Ohm mini coax cable with 4 individually shielded wires (R, G, B, S).
Console - SCART cable has 75 Ohm resistors and 220 uF capacitors on these lines. Resistors are not required for 75 Ohm coaxial cables, but what about capacitors?
Guess I can add small box with components required (not really different from SCART shell), I can drill holes for each signal (somewhat messy).
Cutting traces from PCB to AV port and soldering required components in between will ruin compatibility with consumer TVs with SCART inputs.
So... Did anyone download all the uploaded Nintendo Power issues?
I see Nintendo was busy today with all the take downs... I was only able to look at a few :(
damnit. I love nintendo so much but they need to chill out with this shit, if they arent going to let us buy a digital pack of them all or something
I would probably do this. But they would be stupid about it and make you read it on a Wii u pad only.

Time for another thread of you supply and demand, try to remember what's been lost, try to discover what's been remembered.
Just bring up whatever you want of the past and see if your fellow anons can help you piece your shattered, degrading memory together of some long lost game and perhaps point you in the direction of it's location.I'll request one myself today.
The image is from an old freeware game "The General", I believe the website for it has been gone for close to a decade now, and any attempts to find it again have been met with other games of the same name. I believe it was french in origin but had an official english build as well
