Anyone have any experiences with these arm A9 based boards for retro games?
And I mean, any of the I.MX6 based ones. (though the Wandboard Solo specifically looks worth consdering. Equivalent hummingboards seem very similar too.)
It's not actually the CPU that's of interest, it's the Vivante graphics chips - supposedly they support desktop openGL, and have strongly developed open drivers. (and presumably emulate SNES and CPS2 or thereabouts)
(err, odd SBC general, I guess, especially ones other than your standard issue raspberry-pi and Odroid)
you could build a brand new x86 machine for the same price.

No you can't.

the wanderboard solo is 1Cx1ghz 512mb ram $79
that is am1 quad core money.
What 3 PS1 games would you want if you were stranded on a desert island? as an extra rule, one of the games you bring has to be awful.
>>3494295
>as an extra rule, one of the games you bring has to be awful.
Alright.
For the two good games:
>Jumping Flash
>Omega Boost
For the one bad game:
>Metal Gear Solid
Your rules make no sense, I'll just bring two good games with me, I don't need dead weight on me

The disc of the awful game could be useful to make some survival tool. You can break it and use a sharp piece to make a lance.
What are some great SNES games that aren't RPGs? The library seems kinda shit compared tot he genesis. Especially the non-nintendo stuff.
Super Star Wars.

I didn't ask for kusoge

> It's the "SNES only had JRPGs" meme again
Tell me papa, how quake team fortress was like
>>3494109
Um, excuse me, I'm in need of medical attention.
Well there was a map called "Cross the Border" that was fun as fuck.
>>3494109
Is that what your papa looked like a few years ago when you were the same age as those kids? Does your mom tell you stories of the old country before she hit the jackpot as a mail order bride?
I'm searching for games similar to this one. Do you know any?
Yes, I know some.
Cool.
Try the newer (as in Ys6 onward) games. Ys Origins is pretty good in particular though the plot/character expositions are tiresome.
Threads of Fate is pretty good.
Is there a more perfect and incredible retro company?
>>3493923
Konami
>>3493929
Gradius III was rushed shit. Contra Force was shit. Castlevania IV was shit. PSX Goemon was shit. Rocket Knight 2 was shit. Tokimeki Memorial was otakushit. Their beat 'em ups were all style over substance.
Try again, nigga.
>you can destroy magikoopa spells with cape
>you can destroy baseballs with cape
>you can destroy volcano lotus fireballs with cape
>>3493731
>you can destroy buzzy beetles with spin jump
its supposed to be easy

>>3493763
>You can travel across dimensions with scuttle bug
What are your favorite game boy/ gameboy color games?
>>3493673
Legend of the River King.
>>3493679
Looks cozy. Elaborate, please.
Metal Gear Ghost Babel
Wario Land
Zelda Oracle games
Final Fantasy Adventure
Anyone have the other Super Mario 64 sets like this? I could only find these 2.
High quality scans/translations would also be very helpful.
You can use this thread to discuss anything Super Mario 64.
c'mon

Good thread OP
I hope level designers got fired.

Not nearly enough Tombs in the games after the first one, sadly. I don't play Tomb Raider to run around London and Venice shooting at thugs. I play Tomb Raider to raid tombs and shoot endangered animals.
Underworld is the only other truly great TR game.
Just fire the guy/guys who thought putting urban environments in the series would be a good idea. None of those ever felt real and they were boring as all hell. Should have stuck to wild and exotic locations only, funnily enough those felt just right in game.
Just finished fallout 1 and 2.
I'm going for Fallout tactics.
Any tip/something that i should know/good build etc.?
>>3491912
small guns become worthless later on
Sneak is good to have, but can also be considered an early game crutch since late game armors successfully cripple that skill.
First Aid and Doctor are actually good now; keep a Medic around.
This is the only Fallout game where Charisma is worth investing into, as it gives you higher Brotherhood ranks (= better recruits earlier) and an interesting perk choice if you have CH8.
Set melee characters to aim for the left leg. Preferrably though do not have melee characters.

Don't play it, you will end up disappointed.
Who's your favorite character from the Phantasy Star tetralogy?
Not exactly a whole lot of character depth going on. I like Wren because he's an unstoppable wrecking machine. I like Demi because its cute how her suit opens up like a beetle's shell when she uses her ultimate attack.
I've never played this series before. How do I get into it? Just go in order of release? Also what version/rom hack/etc. would be the best. More then likely I'll be emulating so take that into consideration.

Do you like Chrono Trigger or other SNES RPGs?
Play 4 first.
Do you like Goldbox or other maze-like oldschool RPGs?
Start at the beginning.
4 plays like a mid-90s JRPG, all the others are super oldschool dungeon crawlers.
Post ITT if your hentai adventure started in the 90's with the old eroge games.
My hentai adventure? I mean I played Fatal Relation and True Love but Cool Devices was also quite memorable.
Season of the Sakura taught me how to love...But all these years later, I'm still pissed that you don't get to make the teacher your waifu, even after she gets drunk and seduces you.
I fell in love with Miho in the Sega Saturn version of Doukyuusei in 1996 and my life was never the same.
Holy shit, is carmack PC is made of other little PCs or what, that monitor is fucking huge, is it like kirby and it absorbs other computer components?
>>3490726
16:9 CRT monitor. That's exactly why they didn't make CRT monitors taht big or in that aspect ratio. It's huge. Likely works as a heater as well.
>>3490726
I would love to have that crt for 1080p content. It probably only does 480p and above.
>>3490751
>not getting warm and comfy absorbing X-rays from your crt.
How about a retro SMT thread?
I bought a PS1 copy of If... a few days ago. I wanted to pick up a copy of PS1 SMT2 but that shit is really expensive for some reason.
Has their been a full translation of If... yet?
>>3490547
No.
