Are there any old games which you're good at beating in a quick pace?
I would really prefer if you'd be quiet
Super Mario Bros for sure
I also got pretty good at speed running the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time when I decided to do a 3 heart no death run. I've basically got the game memorized up until after the long shot.
Speedrunning is for faggots.
This is a thread dedicated to discussing the Mega Man X series.
Personally, I would put the original one as my favorite. I also really enjoyed the second one and felt it was almost as strong as the first one. I particularly loved the maverick designs in this one (pic related).
X3 felt like a step down, while X4 aside from the cringy story was a breath of fresh air. X5 seemed to be the last one where they seemed to put an effort in, and X6 was absurdly difficult (flaming donuts of doom etc.).
I love x1 and x2 the same but x3 did have some cool looking bosses and some of the best music, however I felt the overall level design was bland..
I have played through x1 so many times and I ace it at high speeds to the point where its become laughably simple. Makes me miss how it felt to play it for the first time... feelings lost forever..
I think the most memorable fight would be Flame Stag. Too fucking cool but if only it was more challenging.
Anyone else show the robot masters some respect and fight them with buster only?? I feel like a dishonorable prick when I win by using their weakness..
>>3502753
Or an e-tank. Dirrrrty move and you should have your wires removed one-by-one, scumbot.
>>3502753
>Anyone else show the robot masters some respect and fight them with buster only??
I tend to only use the weapons on the bosses. Unless I know what I'm doing, I buster my way through the stages like a god damn pleb instead of using helpful special weapons.
I'll start.

Why does my pvm 8042 tvl 250 look better than my pvm 14ml 600 tvl.
I would force you to play your games in RF on a flatscreen if I was your overlord.

ITT: Post the best hidden gems on the SNES/Super Famicom. Just beat pic related, looking for more obscure titles.

How about a game that was finished but not released
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhyaA-Up38U
It's kinda like dragon warrior but it's set in a modern setting. It's also very funny. Apparently it didn't sell very well when it was released because the box was so big.
Fréderick Raynal won his trial last week and he's now the official creator of Alone in the Dark, almost 25 years after getting jewed out his rights.
Too bad he'll never get a cut from that mysterious deal that probably happened between Infogrames and Capcom before Resident Evil's release.
>Fréderick Raynal won his trial last week and he's now the official creator of Alone in the Dark, almost 25 years after getting jewed out his rights.
Go on. More information pls

Also the series is terrible

I know it's not retro (by this boards logic) but how does Alone in the Dark 4 compare to the other 3?
Has anyone noticed the following with the Pandemonium/Puzzle Me contests in US game magazines?
>Almost all the time, the mystery word is almost always "power"
>The contest requires the user to pay an entry fee, which is illegal according to FTC (dunno if skill are involved makes entry fees legal, however)
>>3501538
they were a scam, allowed by magazine publishers for a cut.
>>3501542
For what cut? Percentages?
>>3501557
I dunno man, I'm not the IRS.
I probably just made that up.
But you have to wonder why magazines would just allow scammers to advertise in their magazines for years if they had nothing to gain from it
So I was playing some good old Kirby Super Star, Great Cave Offensive specifically, and I stumbled upon an enemy that game me this ability [image].
Does this have any special qualities that the normal inhale copy doesn't?
No. Tac is there for 2-player mode (where he functions a lot like a 2nd Kirby), anda secret level in Milky Way Wishes.
Why is this Kirby so shocked?
>>3501530
He saw Dedede's ass a lot during the Gourmet Race
Is Paper Mario a good series? Worth checking out?
Yes. First one is quite good, and Thousand Year Door is GOAT. I haven't played any others.
first two are good i wouldn't bother with the rest
STOP FUCKING STOP PLAYING THE SERIES after Thousand Year Door. The others are nothing but fucking trash.
It was original dank meme
>donating to kickstarters, ever
Haven't people learned better by now?
kickstarter should be removed from the internet

You underestimate people's ability to remember anon.
How do I capture RetroArch with OBS?
Every option makes it unplayeble. I wanted to play Castlevania on livestream but it works so bad.
whellpp!

Install nestopia
>linux
>>3501261
Easy. Don't use pieces of shit.
So anyone have one of these?
>>3501212
Hard to justify buying one since a PSP/DS/3DS emulates most things well, and anything after PS1 plays better on a PC.
I already have pic related and a lot of the android emulators installed for my old note 3. It works well enough so hard to justify buying anything new just yet.
>>3501240
Thing looks too stupid. I imagine how I'd look with one of these on the street.
Is there any reason to play Castlevania 64 if Legacy of Darkness is available? Does Legacy of Darkness cover everything or does it cut out stuff?
>>3501204
Bump because I too want to know
LoD is better in every way, and retains all of 64's content, however you have to unlock Reinhardt and Carrie.
>>3501374
No, the Carrie and Reinhardt levels are different in LoD.
retro anti-war games?

Super Mario RPG is literally about stopping a bunch of weapons from destroying the world's hopes and dreams.
Fallout, arguably
What games "broke the [genre] mold" and were punished for it by being forgotten and players hating said innovations?
People don't hate Galerians any more than say Koudelka, Parasite Eve, D or Illbleed. Resident Evil was just such a breakaway hit and effective use of that gen's processing resources it's obvious why everyone would use similar engines.
>>3500993
Parasite Eve was a success though
Never played this game. What's it about?
