whats the most complete nes romset and where can i find it?
Thanks for sharing anon but I think a simple google search would've done the trick.
It's not very effective...
>>3510671
>simple
im bad at googlin
i used to get them from bitgamer or whatever it was called
What is your favourite looking console?
PC-FX because it looks like a loli PC.
And somehow the black one looks really unappealing to me. Amazing what a color change can do.

Runner up: Twin Famicom
Heard nothing but good things about this game, but before I download the Sega CD release is there any ports of the game with the original scenes intact and correct translation?
>correct translation
That's an oxymoron.
Sega CD version is great. It has all the gore but it's only missing the titties and they changed the age of that one girl you catch in the shower.
>>3511159
That's the long and the short of it. Sega CD version actually has the most gore and Snatchers look the least like terminators. You can see the three titties and one butt you're missing out on if you google it.
Thinking of ordering one of these for emulation purposes as well as playing older games like lords of the realm 2. Does anyone have experience with any Gpd devices? If so what is your opinion?
Thanks
>>3510497
I don't have any experience but I am looking forward to getting mine in the mail next month or so. I've been waiting for a competent pocket computer for a long time.

Bumping for justice
I got a GPD XD a few months ago. It's fine for what it is, but the buttons feel kind of loose and the d-pad feels really spongy.
This is called a "Tiger R-Zone"
Super shitty. Old attempt at virtual reality gaming, and I was wondering where I could sell it and how much I could make. I tried selling it at a store called "Disc Replay" which buys old videogames and they wouldn't take it.
Op here, I also have more obscure gaming shit you probably never heard of, if anyone is interested.
>>3509346
Have you considered throwing that useless shit in the garbage, OP?
>>3509350
Everyone already knows about the R-zone here.
How can I get more pronounced scanlines out of my KV-20FS120? Pic related, Genesis model 1 with composite output. Pic related
Shit. Meant to post this in /crt/
>>3509237
Use a sharpie.
>>3509237
That's just how the tv is. If you want stronger black lines, get a PVM.
I have an issue. I bought Aladdin on the Genesis about two weeks ago from a guy on Ebay. When I tried playing it, the game froze once I started playing on level 1. I tried cleaning the game, and my console, but it always froze within 10 seconds of gameplay. Strange thing #1, the game wouldn't freeze if I just sat there and let Aladdin just do his idle animations. Nor did it freeze at any time on the menu screens.
Strange thing #2, I returned the game assuming it just didn't work, and I bought another copy. I just got it and tried playing it, and it does the exact same thing. My genesis plays every other game I own perfectly. It's only Aladdin that doesn't work. Why do two completely different cartridges freeze the same way? It doesn't make any sense to me, does anyone else understand this?
>>3509107
what model is your genesis? maybe you should open up the cartridge and check for piracy.
>>3509182
Pic related is the model of Genesis I have. Does that matter, though?
I would look for corroded contacts.
We always talk about MGS but we never talk about this.
I had no idea it was a stand alone release. I got mine bundled with MGS for a $1 (discs only) so I always just assumed there was a later edition that came with both. I guess it only did in Japan.
Anyway, discuss. I'm at 70% and am going for gold. I also had no idea Snake could knock against a wall if pressed up against it. Could he do that in the full MGS game too? I've played it 5 times and never knew about it.
I completed it to unlock the grey fox missions. It wasn't worth it really.
>>3509041
You played MGS 5 times and never even tried the VR training missions included with the base game? I'm almost positive it teaches you how to knock on walls.
>>3509053
Since mine came with all 3 discs I just assumed if I selected it from the main menu it'd ask me to put in the other disc and do it there so I put it off.
I did try knocking on walls in the game but it didn't work. Maybe it was the wrong kind of wall.
Hi, /vr/. I want to get Dream Explorer for my Dreamcast so I can transfer WMU saves files for the games I am bad at. Anyone know any guides or video tutorials that can help a tard that is shit at computers like me understand?
Please
I thought you could use dreamshell for this, I don't know, never used dreamshell but I want to say I read you could. You can also get an SD card adapter for the serial port.
>>3508948
Step 1) Burn the disc
That's it.
What are some must-play SG-1000 and SMS games?
>>3508901
H.E.R.O.
>>3508901
Ys and Phantasy Star
Ninja Gaiden, Master of Darkness, Transbot, Wonder Boy series.
>>3508917
No. JRPGs are for autistics.
Anons I need help, my super metroid save file keeps vanishing even though I replaced the battery. I'm guessing its just so fucked up that it wont power the SRAM or some shit when its out of my snes.
Is there a device out there that I can use to store saves then throw back inside my cart? I've lost my save like 4 times now. My soul blazer is even worse but I was able to beat that in 2 nights at least.
To put it bluntly I guess, I'm looking for a device that can:
>backup the save onto itself
>upload the save back into the cart when I start playing again
>pic mildy unrelated
>>3508868
How did you replace the battery?
Look up and buy a Retrode. It does exactly what you're asking for.
However, I suspect you didn't solder the battery right. Grab a multimeter and check the voltage. If you don't have >3 volts, that save is going to die every time.
Is it worth it? Thing is getting up to $90 range.
Get it. Lots of great 2D games....all that sprite scaling....and it's also home of heart of the alien
Well, it doesn't have copy protection so you don't have to buy the over-priced games.

Which SimCity arcology (taking cost into account) would you want to live in, /vr/?
>The Plymouth Arco is ‘Solid as a Rock’, or so claims Plymouth Arcologies, Inc. It is known that they have stood through several earthquakes, notably in the NeoRepublic of Mexico and the Taiwan CoProsperity Region. Plymouth Arcologies are designed primarily to support heavy industries, as witness Greenland Motors, maker of the Narwhal 3000.
>The Forest Arcology is named for its attractive forest setting on the top level. Throughout the structure, citizens utilize recycling, operate ecologically sound industries, and maintain a rich verbal heritage that replaces television and radio. Unfortunately, the youth of Forest Arcos are bored silly and roam out into your city where they stare mindlessly at soap operas and sports programs displayed at the local malls.
>‘Darco’ is slang for ‘De-Urbanized Arcological Construct’. Originally designed by the twisted genius of Dante McCallavre, the artist/architect proclaimed it a reactionary response to the rigid, archetypal Arcologies of his day. No one really knows what this means, and many engineers are frankly baffled at how the thing stays standing. Inside, the ill-lit corridors twist into odd, meandering corkscrews that mysteriously turn back on themselves. There are rumors that a strange sub-species of man inhabits the air ducts.
>‘Launch’ Arcologies were nicknamed for their resemblance to modern orbital launchers. The resemblance is not entirely coincidental, as sophisticated methods of biological support were necessary to oxygenate and feed the thousands of inhabitants. While never tested, the manufacturers claim the occupants could stay self-contained for up to two decades. The sides of the Arcology are equipped with vernier jets to stabilize the structure during storms and earthquakes. A small nuclear facility independently powers the building. Build enough of these and you may discover the final secret of SimEarth.
One were I can keep playing retro games.
>>3508774
>Build enough of these and you may discover the final secret of SimEarth.
What the fuck is that supposed to mean?
>>3509862
If i remember correctly if you build like 200 of them they launch into space and you finished the map
So, I'm completely new to this series, I'm playing the first Shining Forceon GBAand I'm loving it so far.
I'm intrigued by SF3 on the Saturn, I plan to play it later, but from what I have read, this is a big game spanning three parts, right? Are all three parts emulatable (and playable in English) yet? I want the complete experience
Shining Force (and Shining in general) thread, Tao is best girl so far. Keep it /vr/.
>>3508686
>Keep it /vr/.
>I'm playing the first Shining Force on GBA
>>3508690
We could about the original version instead of the remake.
Or any other game in the series for that matter, I've read that the series is still going.
>>3508715
>I've read that the series is still going.
nope
>>3508686
while the games do take place in the same world the events in each game might as well be a different series. The SF games are barely related to each other beyond using similar mechanics and rarely mentioning previous characters or plot points. You could play the games in any order you wish.
Do you remove stickers you find on old games/hardware, or do you consider them a part of its "history" and leave them on?
I ask becauseI just removed a bunch of Arthur stickers from a couple of N64 controllers I got and now I feel like an asshole. Some kid in the '90s put those on out of a genuine love for the show and I took them off in a matter of minutes.
>>3508572
I know that feel OP, sometimes I try and keep saved games from past owners on there. All because one time I deleted some JP bro's 100% save on Mario's Super Picross, only for me to find that he had previously set the BGM to the same one I liked, and it made me feel bad.
But whatever, honestly that shit comes and goes.
I'll take a sticker off if I can do minimal damage to the cart/box/etc. If it's gonna fuck the thing up then I'll leave it on there, let some other future owner sweat over it.
>>3508572
Stickers yes, writing no.
I have a bunch of game boy games that were all owned by some Takuya kid. He took good care of them. Luckily, he wrote on the back/top of the carts.
remove, unless I'm the one who did it as a kid
