How do I make the Neopop emulator look sharp on 2x?

I've seen some videos on youtube but I find no options in it, does someone know a workarround?

Turn bilinear filtering off

I figured it out, you have to enable 16 bit on compatibility, but thanks, and no, this one doesn't have bilinear.

I recently got my hands on an Atari 8-bit machine (130-XE) and a box of floppy discs. This goes for any computer that used 5 1/4 inch floppies, but how does /vr/ store them? I don't have boxes, just the sleeves and the old 5 1/4 storage box they are in is busted up.

I store mine in unbusted 5 1/4 inch floppy boxes or in their original boxes but I don't have very high expectations for their integrity. Consider a floppy drive emulator.
>>
>>4174130

Download the TOSEC set for that console. Burn it on m-disc. You have now stored those games for the rest of your life. You're welcome.

I've only used the official ones from Japan, and they worked well enough for me. They do take advantage of the rumble packs (puru puru packs) which is pretty cool.

Looking to play some 'point and click' or similarly atmospheric games to I Have No Mouth, Sanitarium, Clock Tower

Can anyone recommend stuff in this vein? Preferably on PC as most of them are anyway

Objectively:
AM2 for arcade games, AM7 (later split into Overworks and Smilebit) for console games.

Sanic Team (AM8) is overrated.
>>
>>4172973

am stands for amusement machine (arcade). cs (consumer) is what stands for console games in ajapn.

am8 and am7 never existed. i really want to know where that stupid shit started.
>>
It's practically undeniable that it's AM2. They're responsible for almost all of Sega's biggest arcade hits, the ones that really cemented the company's reputation.

I've always been partial to AM3 for Virtual On, but besides that, Crazy Taxi, and Last Bronx (which I doubt anybody but me really cares for), I don't think they made much of note.

I have two old sidewinders that I've been trying to get to work with my pc and my pi2. I have a usb adapter but it doesn't seem to work. I also have a newer, logitech attack 3 usb that works fine in windows, but most buttons won't bind in pi2/retropie. I imagine I will have to edit manually. Anyways, has anyone got these to work in newer versions of windows? Should I buy a pci card with serial input? Pic related.

>I have two old sidewinders
>Pic related.
but those are Logitech Wingmans (Wingmen?)
Sidewinders were from Microsoft

>I have a usb adapter but it doesn't seem to work.
at least the left one should come with a passive Gameport to USB adapter cable. with it, it works fine in Windows 7. also install Wingman/Logitech Gaming Software version 5.whatever - there's supposedly a newer version but it won't work with older devices

>Should I buy a pci card with serial input?
you're better off buying an active Gameport-USB adapter, which should work with any gameport controller, though I suspect you might lose some buttons
>>
>>4172618
Ah sorry, they are wingmans says right there. Just used to saying sidewinders, sorry.

And yeah I am on newegg now looking. i do have a gameport usb adapter its in the pic, it just doesn't work. Downloading the software now. Thanks.

I recently found my brother-in-law Mega Drive in pristine conditions and was allowed to use it. I never had a single Sega console in my whole life so, except for a few times I remember playing that Michael Jackson game in a cousin's house, it's essentially a new experience and, as much as there are charts around, I'd like do ask a few questions to my fellow /vr/ Troopers.
- It's a japanese version (3-button pad), with no games. Pretty sure it doesn't have region locks, but are there physical cart locks like the SNES?
- This one will sound silly, but what are the best games to start?
- How bad is the aftermarket price? How much is an average fair price? Is it worth going for a flash cart?

Thanks in advance.

How much can I get for an NES with box included as well as some games with their respective boxes and manuals?

Anyting you wan' bay-bee

Just going by what can be seen in your picture i'd say the price you can expect to fetch on eBay or similar is approximately three United States dollars give or take fifty cents.
>>
Well, they're PAL, so it's all worthless. Sorry. I can take it off your hands for about three bucks if you like. Heck, I'll give you $3.50.

I started Terranigma the other day, in tower 2 now. I love the art direction a great deal.
Which is your favorite game in the series?
Would you say the overarching themes are superior or equal to Seiken Densetsu series?

Terranigma is the only one worth playing.

Soul Blazer quickly becomes tedious, but I found it somehow refreshing when I got into it a couple weeks ago. The whole Dark Cloud-esque rebuilding/uncovering a city as you explore a dungeon was a neat concept and made me keep playing the game.

I believe Actraiser was a bit more similar to Dark Cloud on that aspect however.

I'm trying to play the PC version and - is the Hard mode meant to be doable?

Sometimes it seems like you have no way to dodge or absorb those shots enemies release after exploding.

The game literally has no randomization. Everything enemies do is scripted the same for every playthrough. You just find a path follow it, me and my friends did this in high school from just playing it once in a while for a couple of months.

/vr/ I'm having a hard time playing a PS1 game on PS2. The disc is immaculate and has no scratches, and I can play the CD Audio on the disc just fine. But when I try to play the game the PS2 tries to load it and then sends me back to the system's menu screen. Pic related is the game. I don't see it on any lists of PS1 games that aren't compatible with the PS2. Could this be caused by a dirty lens or the system itself, or is it the game's problem?

>>
Is that the one where you stare at her ass? Anyway are the system and game the same region? That's the only think I can think of.
>>
>>4171649
Does the system play other PS1 games without problem? Have you tried the disc in another PS2 or a PS1?
>>
>>4171690
Yeah they are. I'll let you know how the ass is if I get it working
>>4171728
Some really early PS1 games don't play perfectly on it but I've never had one just not start before. This one's pretty early but not as early as say Discworld which does start. Haven't tried it on any other systems yet.

So why'd this flop?

There was no reason for it only 5 exclusive games. Although it's version of ghost and goblins is really good
>>
Came out too early. 8 meg hucards were extremely expensive ($100)

The exclusive games were nothing special. The supergrafx got 2 games a year, very sparse release schedule. The ghouls n ghosts port also was limited to 3 continues

Out of all the things they could do with this why did they choose to make it a clone of ZELDA instead of something that would make more sense, like Contra?

I can only guess Acclaim was handed the engine of Zelda 2 and told to make something that fit it, instead of being allowed to do their own thing.

Anyway I just watched the original Rambo trilogy last night and want to play some quality Rambo games. What can /vr/ recommend?

Yuck, the NES version sucks so bad. Rambo 2 on the Sega Master System is the superior version. However you might enjoy Metal Gear Solid 3, since that game could have easily been a Rambo game.
