is this the best SF2 ripoff (inspired or whatever) ever?
>>4180371
Nah, son.
That'd be Kaiser Knuckle.

This and Karnov's Revenge / Fighter's History Dynamite.
Just played this little gem for the first time and I really enjoyed it.
Game felt awfully easy but very fun nonetheless.
I recommend it

Doom
Quake
Quakeworld, Quake 2, CPMA, and Quake Live if you want Q3 gameplay
UT99 still has players as well
I have fond memories of this Genesis game, I'm wondering it is as good as I remember.

>we are, we are /vr/.
You should try to play it again.
There's a remake of it on Steam. Look up "Assault Suit Leynos". Now git.
The zero gravity space stages feel a little bullshit. Ended up cheesing most enemies at the edge of the screen. I also used the endless health regen item more than I would like to admit towards the end.
I TRIED SO HARD

In what sense?
How did surround sound in retro games work? It was just L R inputs. was it all matrixed? I recall a few games like Perfect Dark boasting Dolby Surround Sound
Yea it was matrixed. You need a receiver that can do Dolby Pro Logic and it'll do the work. It's a similar technique to how they got Surround Sound on Laserdisc before AC-3.
>>4178945
Awesome, I'll have to hunt around for a cheap 90s surround receiver, i've only ever played with 2 speakers. thanks
The facts seem to be unclear whenever this comes up. I believe it's a left and right front channel, mono rear, no low-frequency from what I gather. I'd like to experience it but the cost to do so is more than I'm willing to pay for so few games. A couple Nintendo games that have surround options in the sound setting actually output this but aren't labeled as being Dolby.
Snes remakes or PS1 remakes?
That's actually for the Japanese computer versions.

I just used the first image after searching "wizardry poster"

Turbografx CD remakes

Nothing beats the original IMO.

San Francisco RUSH.
QFG3. Both because I finally got to use those paladin powers I worked for and because it taught me that being a dickass thief is easy more fun than moralfagging
It took me 35 hours to beat Half-Life for the first time.
Does this make me retarded?
I did set the difficulty on hard, but I'm not even sure if that's a valid excuse...
I figured it took me about that back then too but I was probably counting like shit because I was so young and retarded, can't imagine myself spending more than 20 hours even with all the exploring and saving/loading
I did get stuck for a long time in lambda core, the last part before going to xen, with all the portals in the circular chamber, what a bad level holy moly
Seems like a long time to play Half-Life, but it's understandable if it really was your first playthrough.
My first playthgrough back in the days was probably just as long. I remember the game being very difficult and scary, I used to run away from enemies like a sissyboy and avoid conflict. I played HL through once again earlier this year for the sake of reliving the memories, and it took me about 7 hours to beat it according to steam. I had already beat the game multiple times and I knew exactly where to go and what to do, and I pretty much just ran through the parts I didn't like (like that train mission).
I swear the first time I played this game I could had just messed around in the beginning lobby area for hours and hours, just interacting with the scientists etc. because I had never seen anything like that back in the days. When I was a kid I would even "pretend" to be communicating with them via the console. I knew they wouldn't understand, but I kinda wished they would. Kinda like the chat in Quake 3 where the AI responds to your messages.
>>4178416
Well my IQ is 140 and I beat it in 8 hours so your IQ would be around 30 if you beat it in 35 hours.
You are literally a vegetable.
I'd like to know what retrogames feature optional/hidden areas that are big/important and easy to miss if you had that experience.
huehue
>easy to miss
I'm pretty sure you're given a hint as to exactly where it's located.
If you don't talk to NPC's or explore much, I guess it could be easy to miss.
If you eat all 120 stars in Goldeneye 64 then use the whistle your stepdad appears on your doorstep, tears in his eyes, to say that he's sorry.
This is only in PAL versions (obviously).
Hey, I feel like playing some Deathmatch Classic. Come join me.
91.121.87.69:27036
If you're interested, I will buy it for the first 4 people in this thread who want it and post their SteamIDs. Trip is just so you don't get juked by some imposterfag.
Also I think(?) Steam has restricted gifting so international gifting doesn't work. I am in the US so if you aren't, you may not be eligible for a free game.
This offer ends after I get bored and I'm not playing DMC anymore tonight.
>>4178293
>Deathmatch Classic
I'll play with you dude.

TFC was more my game. Let's get on a Discord or some shit too.

what's the point of DMC when Quake exists
>>4178403
No dealing with source ports
Also who cares
>Start new file
>Complete first 3-Day cycle to become human Link again
>Quickly gain access to Woodall Temple
>Blast through it and grab the Bow and Arrows then leave without finishing it
>Use arrows and bombs to reach SnowHead and aquire Lens of Truth, Goron Mask, gain access to the temple, and retrieve the fire arrows
>Use fire arrows to reach the cave with Biggoron and unlock powder kegs
>Blast into Romani Ranch and learn Eponas Song (don't need to fight the aliens to do this)
>Beat the Luigi Brothers to get Garo Mask
>Use Epona to get into Great Bay and immediately aquire the Zora Mask and Hookshot
Now all you have to do is head to Ikana Canyon and using a nice little exploit in the design of the cliffside, you can hookshot your way up and you now have access to the entire map and can complete the game in any order you want.
gotta love how glitchy 5th gen was
There's also a glitch to get the Fierce Diety Mask early in v1 carts
I'm surprised no one designing the game noticed how easily you can exploit the game to make it so open ended like this. Maybe it was intentional? It's already the most non-linear 3D Zelda.
When I was a kid (Late 90s, early 2000s) my dad gave me a game for PC. It was a Pac-Man knock-off with a really weird vibe to it. The music was eire and harsh, iirc. 16-bit style graphics. The colors were mostly muted blues and browns. It opened with a scene of a pacman getting wacked by the pacman mob and then cuts to someone mourning at his grave drinking from bottles labled "XXX". Pretty sure the plot was revenge themed. I cant remember if the objective was to collect all the pellets or kill all the enemies, but at the end of the level, the border wall of the level would open up and a a car would drive up to get you. It was a creepy game but I was a bit of a creepy kid so I played a ton of it.
I know this sounds ridiculous, but I swear it was a real thing. Anyone have any clue what Im talking about?

Nevermind, I found it.
