Hello /vr/ Troopers. Have you heard of the GSLA website? It's a Japanese a website that, among other things, preserves game developer interviews from older, now-defunct print sources. It redacts the interviewer questions, and, sadly, does not list the source of the interviews. I would love to see a project to translate their archive. The shmuplations site has translated many of them already.

So what's keeping you from doing it? Do you need more than one person to translate text?

I just browse the site with Google translate.
So could I use this thing as a dual shock controller?
Would love to play mgs1 on it.
no, you cannot

AoF was so cool. Was really stupid you can't play single player as other than Ryo and Robert but the rest of the cast is playable in versus. Literally why?
Well I think it's about striking that perfect balance.
Give the characters motivations and goals to be where they are, tossing in some banter and ending that fleshes out things and boom you're gold.
>tfw only ever played the SNES version
Was the level I missed out on actually good?
It was ok, the best version of this game is Windows 95, all the content of the Sega CD version + better graphics
Not really.
It's weird how much I liked these games as kids, but hate them now. Like, nostalgia doesn't help them in any way whatsoever.
Post your /vr/ battlestations! We don't give a fuck how shitty your setup is, share it here!

Down below the TV. Yeah, I don't like the N64 on top of the PS2, but nowhere else to put it.

I'm seeing all these Sega CD threads, let's try to clean this up.
>Post games that are BETTER on the Sega CD
>Final Fight CD
The music is great but it isn't better than the arcade. Delayed spawns (sometimes slightly different), high damage variance, different AI behavior, and you can't really button mash to do an infinite (way less than the arcade version where you can rapid fire shit). It is still worth a play if you love Final Fight though along with GBA Final Fight One .
I've heard for years that the Sega CD port is far superior to the Genesis version. However, I've also read that the controls are slightly off on the CD port. Thoughts on this? What plays better, Jim on the Genesis or the CD? Obviously, the CD has more content.

Just try them both nerd

Has there ever been an HD remake of a sprite-based game with decent art?
Pic is a shitty trubute by moi to Golden Axe
Isn't that new Wonderboy game a remake?
There is A Boy & His Blob.
why the fuck can i not be playing a remake of this game right now
why the fuck can i not
>be recruiting heroes
>managing & equipping & customizing armies
>administering cities & investing in infrastructure
>be researching spells at the college of magic
>be conquering the continent as a based prince & avenging my father
>be making difficult decisions in counsel
>exploring ruins and gathering artifacts
>engaging in diplomacy with other states
>completing my awesome journey by sitting on the throne of aladda
i don't care if these are not all features of the original
i do not want more endless legend or w/ev, i want this
it is 2017 ffs
what the fuck
why is this not a thing
why the fuck has there not been a sword of aragon reboot
I know how you feel, OP. I'd love to see a remake of Warlords 3, or even just a version that will fucking run.
>>4185598
my man warlords 3 was the jam. i loved customizing the army builds, i haven't thought about this game in years
>checks GOG
>still on wishlist
>sweet, maybe they'll release it in 15+ years
the king's bounty remake kind of scratches this itch but seriously i would fucking love if it somebody got the license to SoA and did a clean-slate remake with all the modern trimmings & graphics &c

But duz it play castlevania 3? Kekekek
How the hell are you supposed to know the order to beat the bosses? Do they really just assume we all have infinite time to do trial and error?
The cover has the water level, so I just assumed that was the first level.
Octofuck kicked my ass, so I just went with which level would look the most "first level-y", and I picked the forest. I had no problem dealing with that one, then I picked the level where you get the dash upgrade and it was smooth sailing from there.
You aren't supposed to know. You don't need the weaknesses to beat the bosses. By finishing the game multiple times (or even just twice) you can take note of all the weaknesses.
I actually played all Megaman games (except 7 and X) without knowing the "right" order, and still managed to do just fine.
>infinite time trial and error
From all the games I've played, the only Robot Masters that _remotely_ give you trouble with the Buster are Freeze Man (7) and that mushroom guy from X5 (or X6, I kind of forgot). Freeze Man just doesn't give a fuck if you're shooting him, and will continue on his merry way doing a lot of attacks with no discernible pattern.

Elecman in MM1 is pretty fucking hard too. You die in 3 hits.

But she's a chickenGot it?
Ya beef jerky!
Finishing this on Cool on the remastered version was a nightmare. Evwn fwtting into cool here (and in most stages) felt random as fuck.
People talk about games aging, but this game has almost nothing going for it despite the novelty at the time it's released
Thinking of playing it. Is realmyst worth picking up? Or Should I go with Masterpiece Edition?
>>4185292
What about realmyst masterpiece edition?
You can swap between 3d and 2d.assuming it isn't a buggy mess
I can't really comment, but of the three, rmme has positive reviews(steam) and the other 2 are mixed.
>>4185524
Not really an option for me. I got a slew of technical issues right now so I'd rather just use my retro vidya pc.
Some people swear by RealMyst Msterpiece, but I prefer the old slideshow style. Especially if you're going to play more than one game in the series (which you should), I don't see the point in playing Myst 1 in a fairly modern fully 3D style, then going back to slideshow/panoramic nodes for Myst 2-4.
When I was a kid I had never heard of Puyo Puyo (well, no, that's a lie; I saw a preview in EGM for a Japanese Puyo game but that only added to the confusion I'm about to go into) so I was very confused when a game that seemed identical to Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine was being released on SNES featuring a Nintendo-exclusive character.
Did anyone else succumb to this?
>>4185181
I didnt either
