Why I don't see many people talking about this game?
This thread reminds me that I hate Dr Mario. Nintendo keeps releasing Dr Mario but it's one of their worst games.

Dr. Luigi on Wii U
This was an old PC 3D game and weird flying shooter.
You command some kind of flying land of earth powered by magic or something, on top of the thing it had a flat surface with a grid in which you could build turrets (I barely remember some cannons and magic catapults) and other buildings similar to a tower defense. But instead the objective was to fly around to battle other lands of earth like you, the more you kill the more you could build and even expand your flying thing so it ended pretty big. I don't remember if it had levels, but just a big open map with random scattered enemies around, some weak and some very strong.
Imagine a naval battle game but with these flying things, pic related is the most similar thing I could find to what the "ships" looks like, I suppose they are like magical castles I don't know.
I think you could lose parts of the grid if they get hit too much, until you're left with a single core and can't do anything and lose, same with the enemies, you could issue your strongest turrets to attack important parts of the enemy "ships".
And pic related is not the game I'm looking for but this is what the graphics should look like, very polygonal graphics and maybe worse textures, clear colors. Your ship was on the center of the screen in 3rd view, you could zoom in and out.
I can vaguely recall what you're talking about. DOS game, right?

Yes, I remember using Windows 95/98

Has /vr/ successfully done a secret santa exchange before?

Literally retarded.
Too late for that now. Christmas delays, especially on international mail, are too long. Should have tried it earlier.
Do you think NES themed retro games are still popular today and may be popular in the near future?
Sure, you got undertale and Shovel knight, but I wonder if people in the future will still enjoy a NES retro game.
>NES themed retro games
Not retro.
>>>/v/
>>3630802
>retro not being retro
Listen to yourself man.
/vr/'s rule are abritary and decide to only use one definition of the word retro, and the 2nd definition is still tolerated in small doses. This thread is fine.
>>3630798
Yes. Because they're not really NES themed, they're pixel art themed, and pixel art is appealing outside of it's NES and other video game related roots.
Also art is hard, and good art is very hard. If you have a low resolution it makes it much easier to have it look decent.
Sorry if this is a question already asked a lot, but is there a roguelike or roguelite akin to the old games with co-op or multiplayer setting? Like a topdown visualisation? I know roguelikes are turnbased so a co-op or multiplayer couldn't technically pass as a true roguelike but I just like the way the old games like DS and nethack play.
Most Diablolike games fit your description
>>3630784
Is that fun, op?
I fucking love tiny pixel equipment icons, looks to have a good variety.
>>3630784
Like the other guy said, Diablo may serve you well. But it sounds like TomeNET is what you're really looking for.

Which games in this series are worth going back and checking out?
Pic related, I went back and tried to play this and just cannot do it
>>3630537
The ones for N64, which I think were only 2.
There's like a dozen of them for PSX and its too much to sift through, too much shovelware.
>>3630640
I think that would be Sarge's Heroes, which I was considering going back to
It's a shame because the series didn't have to be AS trash as it was it's just when the sixth gen hit they tried to make it a generic shooter and it just didn't work
>>3630640
>shovelware
Shhh...you might hurt the feefees of the people on here if you use that word
Anyone else play this game during the ps1 days?
This is possibly the reason im fucked in the head.
Not going to say the name of the game you just gotta know what im talking about,
>>3630424
Something about that game terrified me on an existential level.
Seemed groundbreaking tho
Sure enough.
What was his ROMANTIC DREAM, anon?
>>3630408
having sword fights with shotas
His romantic dream was that he wanted to be Laguna's character in the movie he starred in "The Sorceress' Knight." It's why he willingly followed Edea without being mind controlled, and why his fighting stance is exactly what Laguna's was in the movie.

>he has trouble with this boss
how much of a shitter are you that you actually have an issue beating him?
>>3630246
Actraiser is a fun game, but you can beat almost every single boss in the same way
>Run in
>Swing your sword as many times as you can
>Probably get hit
>Swing your sword as many times as you can
>Win
The hole game can be beaten by trading blows on almost every boss until like the Frost Wyvern. You can even beat Tanzra the same way.
>>3630246
Who are you referring to because I never heard of someone having issues with that boss.
>>3630258
It's kind of hard to do that on the final boss rush, though. But then again, you can use Magical Stardust to decimate most of the bosses.
Do you think Shenmue was a bad influence on current games?
Metal Gear Solid is more to blame for games becoming too cinematic, Shenmue was pretty niche.
no, because shenmue is GOAT. what influence did it have? QTEs? it didn't invent those... never played a more immersive game desu
>>3630135
There are no Shenmue clones, only GTA clones.
What good games are worth playing on this machineor on the Demul emulatorthat are not so obvious?
I like the charm of the Sega Dreamcast for some reason.

Can anyone help me shed some light on this gameboy case? Its an official one (says nintendo on it, but has no product code). Im trying to find anything on it, like a stock image, what it was bundled with etc.
Im including this image and not my own since a few online seem to have those two stickers on it but mine is missing them (peeled off by previous owner probs)

The Play It Loud GB series all came in a hard plastic case.
>>3630087

Hello gentlemen, what is our preference for emulation downloads? im usually partial to emuparadise, but im wondering if theres anything better
archive.org
doperoms has a pretty varied selection, as does romhustler
>>3630004
Emuparadise doesn't have a copy of Bubsy 3d for some reason.
