Someone suggested I make a thread about custom levels when I posted my Jetpack level pack. The Mods thread seems to have a different focus, so here goes.
What games have you been making custom levels for which you'd like to showcase? Have you been playing other people's custom levels which you'd like to share? Or are there any games with level editors that you'd like to make us aware of?
Here's my Jetpack level pack: https://u.teknik.io/rryCp2.zip . To install, place it in your LEVELS folder.
For those who don't know Jetpack: it's one of the classic DOS platformer games and takes inspiration from Loderunner, Jumpman, and Montezuma's Revenge. The game comes with 100 levels which are enjoyable unto themselves, but what makes it really stand out is the powerful, built-in level editor. There are over 1000 levels available on the Internet.
Download the game at the official website: http://www.adeptsoftware.com/jetpack/
A quick video that demonstrates the gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Honzfhe4EQ
Rebump.
I'm of the opinion that this thread should have more attention.

Streets of Rage
AVP
Sailor Moon
I've been seeing this game pop up in different articles and media lately, why is that? Is there something in the zeitgeist that warrants a resurgence of a 20 year old point and click?
Probably because Nightdive re-released it in 2013 so now more people have access to it.
What's weird is it's still being updated too
It's a memegame.
Lickin my way to the top!
why does gex look so sexy here
>>3642087
because you're a scaly
>>3642087
This is really about your father isn't it?
I love the Rare aesthetic.
>>3642062
You enjoy ridiculously unrealistic proportions in not only living things but inanimate objects as well? Rare created some of the most unrealistic universes in the videogame industry.
Just look at how Banjo's hand grips the steering wheel. It is so big it HANGS over the front of the bonnet. It appears like he doesn't even have full 360° of turn radius at his disposal. He would continuously have to turn hand over hand which would no doubt decrease his reaction times to turns and objects. Fucking preposterous!
Have fun trying to decide which way you want to go at the fork in the track after the cave in Ever frost Peak with a pair of mitts like that!

You like shitty 90's CGI? Well blow me down.
tfw you realize the genesis is an entirely worthless system if you don't like beam-em-ups/shoot-em-ups
tfw you realize n64 is an entirely worthless system if you don't like 3d platformers/1st party nintendo stuff
tfw you realize the PS1 has many of the best games across most genres
>>3642058
> tfw when someone implies that the genesis doesn't have a ton of great platformers
Despite his super difficulty, gone through his horrible designs and wrecked with a poor engine and a crappy design. I think is one of the Worst Mega Drive Games of All Time.
Yeah, it's complete shit. I remember buying it and returning it the very same day after playing it for 30 minutes or so.
It was made by one of Sega's western studios, not the same people from Sega of Japan who made the Illusion games and Quackshot.
Such a shame too because a game based on Fantasia could have been great if it was done by the right devs, but it ended up being really awful.
Not sure if one of the worst MD titles, but probably the worst Sega published one.
>>3641930
Funny how this game had such good looking foreground objects, but the rest of the scenery looks really low quality.
>>3641940
>It was made by one of Sega's western studios
it was made by infogrammes, dev well known for pretty-but-shitty licensed games.
Apparently, game was presented to sega execs, was judged shitty but was still approved anyway because big license and chrismas season...
What's a paladin?
I'm not entirely sure
Betrayal
Excuse me, I'm a paladin
what a fucking travesty.
glad i didn't pay full, price. but still.
this game is literally unplayable. and this is the first time i've ever used that term. and of course i mean it.
i only played the first game but christ is this input lag the most damning thing sullying some of the best video game experiences one can have.
don't spend money on this garbage. please. this is for yourself.
and here i was thinking i could get a good couch co-op game on my ps4.
i wouldn't be so upset if the games were shitty. but they're not. it's fucking metal slug. how do you fuck that up? it has to be hard to fuck up fucking metal slug doesn't it?
turns out it's not! holy shit i'm bitter right now. i'm sorry, i needed to vent a sec.
what the godawful fuck.
i don't remember the standalone version of metal slug 3 (ps4) being this bad.
maybe it's better for the other games.
has anyone else played this on ps4? opinions? am i overreacting? i don't think i am honestly; as i said, LITERALLY unplayable. but i want to know what anyone else thinks.
all official neogeo emulation releases I've tried have been garbage.
Mame+a nice arcade stick is the way to go
what exactly is wrong with it? had it for wii and it was fine but that was a long time ago
Soooo, I shouldn't get the ps2 release? Which version are you slamming?
Why is this garbage on the NES classic instead of 3?
Maybe they plan to sell mini Nintendo Power

kek
More importantly why do they have the shitty original version of Final Fantasy instead of the much better aged Dragon Warrior?
I need to get this off my chest, I'm pretty sick of these fucking things. They never work. I've tried boiling pins, buying new ones, they never work as intended. At best you'll get one game to work and the next one you put in, grey screen. blue screen, pink screen, nothing. You tilt the cartridge to the right, to the left, you get a jumbled mess of data. The wings of a butterfly flap so perfectly on the opposite side of the world, the planets align, the game magically finally fucking works until the next time you start it up. Stupidest design ever. I've ordered new pins, and they only work when the cartridge isn't depressed? The fuck? Some games work when the cartridge is depressed? This is stupid.
I can deal with disabling the lockout chip. I can't figure out why the lockout chip would be going off despite a legit cartridge being inserted. The hell is wrong with this thing?
Is there any way to get these pieces of shit working reliably? Like at least 75% of the time? No fucking around constantly, cleaning, re-cleaning, brassoing the fuck out of it?
Better just buy a NES CLASSIC MINI rite? My wife and I love ours!
>>3641548
I've never had that kind of problems. sure, games don't load sometimes cause the thin is a bit old. but it isn't that bad
can we talk about balloon fight please because it's an old favourite of mine
>>3641391
Do you ever do the 2-player battle mode? My friends and I once competed to see who got the higher score before the first player's game over.
>>3641395
me and my lil bro used to play 2player all the time. shit was fun but noone really talks about this game and i don't know why
I love this game too. But I'll admit there's not much to discuss. Maybe the weird Hello Kitty by dentsu.
You had one job EMiO....

nice of them to use microswitches
why does this guy seem so angry about what's probably just a manufacturing issue of some kind? I guess making a video like this could put pressure on the company to do something about it, but overall this looks like a pretty cool kit, and probably just had a manufacturing problem or something. I mean, I get being upset that something you bought doesn't work, but his reaction seems over the top, almost as if it was only done to get attention.
>>3641253
What were they THINKING?!?! Did a human being even test this piece of buffalo diarrhea dookie??
What a shitload of fuck!
>>3641450
What a load of AAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
"I'm about to quit playing" the thread. I'm about to quit playing Treasure of the Rudras. I will finish soon the three main plots, but i wonder if it will be worth keep playing instead of dropping it in favor of Mystic Quest, what do you think?
I'm about to quit playing ff8.
>>3641180
Keep going if you are that close. The endings of the scenarios are cool.
>>3641180
I'm about to quit playing ffvi brave new world. I'm on mt kolts and the trillium somehow manage to poison or kill my entire party every time i encounter them. It's not that the game is harder, it's just gone in a direction that a non autist like myself can't really enjoy.
What's your most satisfying vr moment?
pictured: Amiga owners will sympathise!
>>3640817
Amiga owners weren't poorfags who needed to peel labels off a disk. I don't think you don't want to see my most satisfying shit. But I did take a picture of it.
>>3641316
Amiga owners were all filthy pirates who re-used shitty coverdisks to X-Copy games to one another after school.
What is this label peeling about?
