>"Look guys, we got rid of the pixels! Doesn't the game look great now?"

Full Throttle looked like an animated movie when it came out. This "remastered" version looks like they just upscaled everything with an algorithm and them cleaned it up. It looks like shit and the original art gets ruined when you do this to it. And the 3D rendered stuff has been completely ass-raped, traced over sloppily with blocky vector graphics by some twit in China being paid $2 an hour.
If you were to remake / remaster Full Throttle the right way, you would have to re-draw all the character animations and re-render all the vehicle animations. Tim "Double Fine Means You Pay Twice" Schafer took the path of least resistance though, and now the game looks like bland junk with unnaturally thick outlines and blocky color transitions as far as the eyes can see because everything's been traced over haphazardly. I knew it was going to look bad, but it looks even worse than I expected.
I will not be buying this shit, just like I didn't buy Day of the Tentacle Remastered. God forbid this hack starts butchering classic Lucas Arts games he had next to nothing to do with like Indiana Jones, The Dig, Monkey Island 3 & 4, or Sam & Max.

I never even knew this was in the works let alone released.
How do you feel about the Monkey Island remasters and Grim Fandango remaster?
I disliked the Monkey Island graphics but really enjoyed playing the original graphics with commentary.
Grim Fandango didn't bother me as I already thought it was great with ResidualVM and the tank control mod.
>>3655449
The Monkey Island remakes weren't great but they weren't bad either. The HD graphics definitely had a lot of color and pop and "newness" to them although I enjoy and appreciate the aesthetic of the original versions a bit more.
The thing that really made the Special Editions worth playing for me was the new voiceovers. They were really well done and I wish there was a way I could play "talkie" versions of the original games with the new voiceovers. All around the Special Editions at least felt like they had a lot of effort and love put into them even though I think the originals hold up fine on their own.
Grim Fandango is still Grim Fandango. There's not a lot new about it but it's at least easier to pick up and play than trying to get the original version running, which I suppose was the point. It goes on sale for really cheap sometimes and I even got the Vita version for free so I'd say overall it was a welcome product even if it wasn't terribly ambitious.
Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle remastered have absolutely no reason to exist which is why I find them so infuriating. It's not just that the originals are fine, but moreso that the "remasters" make the games look uglier. They exist only to line Tim Schafer's pockets by cashing in on people's nostalgia. I cannot think of a single reason to play these instead of the originals using SCUMM VM other than that you may happen to be one of those poor saps who are addicted to giving Tim Schafer money.

Not really. It's just the physics that are strange, thanks to Nintendo's mistakes, and you can fix it with a patch.
this is a known fact

I hope everyone here realizes that you just posted a god teir game OP.

Are the Tec Toy ports for the Genesis licensed? Some of them are pretty impressive.
By Tec Toy themselves since they were the authority when it came to anything Master System and Mega Drive/Genesis related in Brazil.
Is there a FireCore spotlight projector?
That MD Dook is pretty much just Wolf3D

It's my original genesis with a Chinese everdrive and a home theater dlp projector. The "screen" is $8 of craft supplies till I decide on a permanent solution.

In 1999, three mech simulators were released in direct competition with one another. Which one was your favorite?
I like MW3 the best. MW3 has the most satisfying and "weighty" gameplay, complemented with detailed weapon and mech damage effects. Overall mission design lacks variety but stays consistently good. Mech designs are fantastic. Inventory management is a bit cumbersome but adds depth and replayability to the game.
HG2 has many merits over MW3 such as the perks/flaws system which I find to be more in-depth and balanced than MW3's customization system, squad members that can get injured or permanently die, a better squad command interface, and more level variety. However, I take issue with the fact that you can't link weapons. Being able to fire only one weapon at a time makes weapon usage mundane and hardly different than a standard FPS. Also, while the mission design has a lot more variety than MW3, a lot of them aren't good. Some missions are over in an instant while some lack replay value from being too scripted and linear and are just not fun to play. I also didn't like the fact that you only have 6 mechs to choose from in the campaign and you get stuck with whatever one you picked.
As for Starsiege, I just started playing this but I'm having a hard time enjoying it. It's more similar to MW3 than HG2 but the weapons feel like total shit and everything soaks up a ton of damage. Firefights are long and drawn out and don't seem to involve much tactical depth. I also dislike the visual style which I find to be sterile and somewhat cartoony. It reminds me a lot of MW4, a game that I didn't enjoy for the same reasons.
black ops > mw
>>3655056
I only played MW3, though I liked it a lot, and also with the proper battletech rules patch.
Quite strangely, I can't recall it working nicely with my panther-XL. Still, I would sure love to play it with a joystick and a trackball, or with two joysticks, or whatever like that.
>>3655056
I never played the Starsiege mech games, only Tribes 2. Mechwarrior was fun though.

Ms Pac-Man is the definitive version of Pac-Man. Pac-Man is for a very particular type of gamer.

Is it weird that when I'm playing a tile/sprite-based RPG I don't mind the empty time it takes to walk across the screen to get to some location in a town for instance, but when playing a 3D RPG and doing the equivalent I get immensely bored and want to speed it up?
>>3654684
In 3D you're starring at an unchanging horizon but in 2D every movement has something new to look at.
I get what you mean, but you sound like an impatient type of person.
>>3654684
Look at all those trainers and tall grass to fight stuff. Not nearly as populated in 3D.
>>3654684
no I'm the same I could walk across a 2d sprite tiled world over and over and not be bored but if I have to walk the same place in Fallout4 twice it makes me rage.
