How the fuck bugs happen in a rom, where don't exist a cartridge?
If anything, ROMs on emulators are more likely to corrupt than a real cart on real hardware.
>>3659369
It's not the ROM, it's the Emulator
>>3659369
If the emulator doesn't emulate the hardware perfectly and the program stored in the ROM does something that works on real hardware but not on the emulator's implementation of said hardware... stuff happens.
I'm beginning to feel like a mario paint god, paint god.

MOTHER FUCKER MIKE SHOULD STICK TO DRAWING INSPECTOR GADGET.
>>3659184
I'd like to inspector his gadget, if you know what I mean
>>3659108
Is that Mike Matei doing the TMNT voices?
Cringing.
Have you ever replaced the rubber pads in your SNES controller? Were you happy with the results?
I think the ones I bought were shit :(
My results were fine.
I didn't buy buttons though. I used the buttons from a super senpai controller. Came out just fine.
this, along with cleaning the contacts on the controller itself is a good practice.
>>3659152
>cleaning the contacts
I've never done that, perhaps that is the problem rather than needing new pads? I hope so.
Any recommended cleaning products?
I got my rubber pads from ebay pretty cheap, but I'd pay more if I knew of a good quality one.
Am I going fucking insane or is there a 1 or 2 frame input delay? Everything happens a moment after the input.
>PS2 Popstarter
>PSP Popsloader
>PSone Classic
>ePSXe
>PCSXR
THEY ALL FUCKING DO IT. It has nothing to do with CRT vs non-CRT, because Crash 2 and 3 works perfectly fine on any of those setups. Is the first game just fucked or what?
>>3658906
Sequels tend to tighten up and polish controls, news at 11
>>3658926
Yes but I'm specifically talking about Crash 1's mysterious input delay, nobody seems to acknowledge it so I'm thinking it was just me.
>>3658926
One thing is to improve and polish controls, and another different thing is that a game that's considered a "timeless classic" has actually shit controls, no matter if it was the first one.
That kind of input delay is unacceptable for pre-7th gen standards.
Is it just me or does this guy only have 2 attacks between 6 buttons when standing still?
>>3658815
Youre gonna have to elaborate
>>3658815
that stuff takes time to draw man
just be happy each attack is more than one frame
>>3658815
up until Super, yes.
is there a worse mechanic than autoscrolling sections?
limited continues
>>3658759
Yeah probably
>>3658759
Completely disagree. This encourages mastery of a game instead if just tanking through early levels.
I've got various Castlevania passwords for both late levels with few lives/continues and earlier levels but with more so I can have a stronger base to launch from so to speak, and it encourages me to replay the early levels and get better at them. (Amusingly, CV1 actually does have infinite continues)
Sire for modern 16 hour+ games it might be a bit obscene, but for a 45 mintute side scroller it's great.
Hello friends; I checked the archive but I'm wondering what everyone's opinion on this piece of hardware is? It's got solid reviews, but I'm kind of a hardwarefag so any autistic opinions are very welcomed.
>>3658627
It is really that good. The only downsides are that it doesn't include any controllers and it's compatible only with HDMI.
>>3658640
Thanks for the insight. I'm totally opposed to modding my actual Famicoms, so this seemed like a rad way to play on my HDTV and Monitor. FPGA also seems like a nice middle ground between cannibalizing real hardware and shitty NOACs, and the price seems pretty reasonable. Are they still actively developing firmware updates?
>>3658627
Main question you probably want to answer is whether a 4x horizontal 3x vertical scale looks good to you.
It's not as close to NES pixel aspect ratio as the 1080p output devices can get while still using integer scaling (5x 4x), but if 4x 3x doesn't look too wide to you, then you're good.
Crash Bandicoot is a timeless video game classic.
As far as hallway walking simulators, I prefer Hugo.

Why is the PCE version looked down upon?
I try finding reviews and all I find are these statements like "PCE Xak isn't real Xak. Play the computer versions."

What are some sites for legaly free games because I can't think of any and vizzed got fucked. And yes I just don't want to get the illegaly otherwise I was not going to make the thread.
Abandonia
>>3658282
But are abandonware sites really legal?
SkyRoads
Operation: Carnage
SideLine
>>3658294
it's abandoned software, so there is no one to issue any claims regarding the software
so how does Agahnim being Ganon make sense again? This topic was discussed in James&Mike Monday's but it's a question that I never really thought hard until now and they never really delved into the plot hole. Agahnim was to make Ganon a surprise at the end intended by the developers but that alter ego stuff doesn't make sense when it was also stated that Ganon was imprisoned. How could've Ganon be Agahnim at all with that logic. With that eye symbol on him I get more sheikah than anything.
>>3658213
Same way Ganon was Zant: Possession.
>>3658213
I always saw it as agahnim is just light world ganon (just as link transforms into a animal in the dark world ganon transforms into a human in the light world). He just went by agahnim to hide his idenity. As to how he became unprisioned I suppose that's a plothole or up to interpretation, maybe some dark world followers? Been awhile since I played alttp but I remember he definitely had followers.
>>3658213
it was essentially his evilness taking control of him
same stuff as Zant and so on
Hey,
What are some great "3D" rpg dungeon crawlers like Eye of the Beholder/Grimrock, that I can play DSi, PSP, SNES, GBA and anything DSi and PSP can emulate?
Looking for some comfy dungeon exploring rpg while snugging in the bed.
If there aren't any good such games to recommend, what about straight up rpgs? I heard ChronoTrigger is good. Is it?
I think Dungeon Master was released for the SNES. Not sure how fun it will be with the magic system and a gamepad though.
>>3658203
Anything that has Megami Tensei on the NES/SNES/PS1 is generally worth looking into. They're all translated except for If...
CT really isn't comparable to these games. It's good but in a different way.
>>3658203
>If there aren't any good such games to recommend
I wouldn't worry about that, there's a million of them, DS/3DS is actually a good platform for these, check this out:
http://www.dungeoncrawlers.org/platforms/
note that most of them aren't realtime like EotB tho.
Whats the best way to sell your old shit? Im not strapped for cash or anything but im losing interest in all my retroish gaming stuff (1980-2005ish).
I dont see ebay as a good idea since it seems to easy for the seller to gget screwed over and to make matters worse being australian sort of limits the market in a sense.
What should i do
eBay if you want your value
Craigslist if you want to get rid of shit no strings attached, but be prepared to offer a deal
Used game store/pawn shop/garage sale if you absolutely must see it gone now
>>3658173
It depends on how much time you're willing to spend. Private auctions will get you the most, but it takes the most time. I just loaded a bunch of my old stuff into a box and took it to a local game store and they gave me almost $500 for it all. I probably could have got close to double if I'd sold myself and been choosy, but it wasn't worth it for me. I was mostly doing it to clear storage room.
Morally correct way to get rid of old games and systems:
>give them to your 7 year old nephew or a younger cousin
Greedy merchant way to get rid of them:
>hoard them for two decades and try to trick young hipsters into buying them for more than what you paid for them
How retarded would it be for me to modify a virtual console wad of Ocarina of Time to output in 240p instead of the N64's native 480p?
I know this is getting well away from developer intentions and all that. I was just curious.
First find get yourself a hex editor. Then open the wad with the hex editor. Use the hex editor to find the value 0f65a1 and change it to 0f67a7. Save it then run it.
Most 64 stuff was 240p anyways, so depending on what you're running it's not really going to change anything.
>>3658108
OoT was output in 480p IIRC.
