I wouldn't mind a Wild Arms reboot, honestly. The first game was pretty bogstandard and the subsequent ones were eeeehhhhhhhhh compared to it, and the remake was pretty so-so.

They are for mobiles
>ForwardWorks, the mobile gaming division set up by Sony from the ashes of PlayStation Mobile, today announced it will be launching its 2 maiden games in 2017 for Android and iOS devices. They were revealed to be mobile versions of classic PlayStation RPG titles, Wild Arms and Arc the Lad. This is just the beginning, as ForwardWorks will be focused on rebooting PlayStation titles for smart devices.

If they somehow fuck up the ost then nothing is truly sacred. Wild Arms games have some comfy tunes
What's the ultimate handheld console emulator?
I'd love to be /vr/ on the go or /vr/ and comfy, but I can't really choose what's the best console to play everything.
Are there any /vr/ approved consoles?
Probably just a high powered Windows tablet with USB ports for joysticks.
Anything else would really suck for emulation.
>>3663442
Isn't there anything pocket-sized?
Something PSP-like with better hardware?
search the catalog, faggot.
>>3662185
what are some retro games where hot chicks fight monsters
>>3663149
Pretty much every goddamn sci-fi/fantasy game with female playable characters
Karen...or is it Karla?
>>3663149
Valis series
Ghost Sweeper Mikami
Golden Axe series (1 for juicy ass, 2 for nice cleavage)
Hey /vr/,
So I really love GBA RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Golden Sun, Advance Wars etc, and I've just discovered emulation and overdosed on SNES RPGs.
Which of these should I play first?
I have:
>Chrono Trigger
>Dragon Quest VI
>Dragon View
>Drakkhen
>EarthBound
>Final Fantasy: IV
>Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
>Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
>Front Mission
>Harvest Moon
>Secret of Evermore
>Secret of Mana
>Secret of Mana 2
>Super Mario RPG
>Terranigma
I'm leaning towards Earthbound, Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana but can't decide.
I just completed Final Fantasy VI, but I also have:
>Fire Emblem
>Golden Sun: The Lost Age
>Sword of Mana
>Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Londis
>Tales of Phantasia
pls help
>>3663084
Phantasy Star IV is better than every one of them.
You've played the original Tactics, right?
>>3663086
I'll check it out. Do I need to have played the previous 3?
Why the fuck didnt this get a Super Nintendo release
Its not like theres much text to translate
>>3662972
Because the mouse was pretty much DOA in the US. I mean, my SNES came with one, but the only game I had that used it was Mario Paint.
Just import it after you cut the region tabs off of your SNES if you want to play it.
Good question.
>>3663015
Well, let's take a look at Mario Paint sales around the globe:
North America: 1.43m (51.9% of all units)
Europe: 0.54m (19.6%)
Japan: 0.71m (25.9%)
Rest of the World: 0.07m (2.6%)
= Global 2.75m
So looks like the peripheral wasn't exactly a failure. But maybe mid-1993 was a little too late for a new game for it, or Nintendo simply didn't have enough faith in it..
Hey, /vr/. Do we have a list of good Sierra style point-and-click adventure games anywhere? Pic related is probably my favorite game of the genre so far, and in my opinion maybe the funniest game of all time period. It's easily the best thing George Lucas was ever lucky enough to have associated with his name.
Anyway, I want more such games, to play for fun and to help me get a better feel for the genre because I have this weird urge to make one myself. They can be funny like DotT or more serious like the Gabriel Knight games, just as long as they're good.

Grim Fandango. Be forewarned that you will need a walkthrough to have any idea what to do, and you will never not be looking at it.
>>3663040
I second this, it's an amazing game but good lord it's esoteric. I couldn't have done anything without a hand-holding guide the entire time.
>>3663040
Thanks. I'll use UHS so I can get whatever hints I need without a full spoiler-filled walkthrough.

Should I bother playing this before playing Soul Reaver? I tried it once and got a short way into it but dropped it for some reason I can't remember.
>>3662630
Same here. Both games aged like milk and had shit gameplay though, but from a story standpoint you should probably play this one first.
>>3662635
But is there any more story relevance to Soul Reaver than "Kain turned evil and became the new big bad"?
>>3662639
Not really, but you'll want to see all of the backstory relating to Kain leading up to SR anyway, plus there are numerous callbacks to the old lore and characters such as Vorador.
Just a reminder to all of you fighting two decade long console wars that you're all lucky, spoiled brats who have no idea what a REAL terrible game console is like.
>literally only five games
>all of them are light gun shooters
>system uses VHS tapes, so there's no way to ever really change or interact with anything
>can't even get a game over
>all the system does is track if you hit the targets and keeps score
Who had that thing?
>>3662498
need to know the history of this think it looks awesome
still better than nintendo 64
You know, I played this as a child and just recently replayed it. Held up well. Opinion?
>>3662171
A lot of people don't share the opinion but I agree, it's good for what it is.
It's like DKC but more poorly designed, with good 3D graphics for the time.
it's OK. There's better platformers out there.
How were the 90's the comfiest for games?
Post comf

What did he mean by this?
>>3662126
What is the appeal of difficulty games?
Completing something challenging feels good.
>>3662027
Difficulty tends to somehow compensate for game length
Games back then were pretty damn short
Side note: ninja gaiden on turbografx is easier than the nes original
>>3662027
Beating them feels more rewarding. That, and it's a cheap way to pad out the length of an otherwise short game.
Is this translation good or should I go for a fan one or sword of mana instead?
Sword of Mana blows.
Anyone play the new remake?
>>3662018
There's another remake?
On mobile and Vita, I believe. It was mobile only in the US until they released a digital Vita version a few months back.
>>3661948
why is this the first time I've seen her. she's a beautiful whale.
>>3661948
Don't let her complete rumble dumbass
>>3661948
>Mama Tua
Beautiful woman, would hit
Did it have any games on it that weren't irredeemable garbage?
Cheetahmen... For the dope remixes.
They're a lot like bad Atari 2600 games with better graphics. If you like weird little arcade games you might enjoy some of them for a little while.
>>3661917
I find them all really hard on the eyes, the graphics are not nice to look at.
What are your thoughts on using a raspberry pi as a retro console ?
Pic unrelated
Probably the cactus they're probably going to tell you to get fucked with OP.
>>3661749
>What are your thoughts on using a raspberry pi as a retro console ?
It's fine if you want to emulate something from the second generation, but anything else is going to lag to hell and back. SMS and Genesis may run fairly well, also. You can certainly forget SNES, PS1 and N64 emulation. You might be able to get "acceptable" SNES performance, but that's going to include occasional audio stutter and other hiccups.
You may be better off recycling an old desktop and just hooking it up to your television via VGA or whatever output you can support.
