I killed Lich early and now when I'm supposed to get the Nuke spell; it disappeared from my list and Lich doesn't show up anymore...did I fuck my shit up?
>>3724303
Damn you didn't even link op. That's cold.
Which games would you suggest?
>>3724132
Wario games.
>>3724132
Harvest Moon games. Not /vr/, but also Rune Factory.
I know letsplays are sometimes frowned upon, but watching some of the letsplays from games of my childhood usually leaves me with a calmer state of mind.
You should give it a try.
Some reminiscence of simpler times.

Why did console games usually have harsher censorship than computer games?
>>3724104
They usually had to licensed by some company that were trying to push their console as something kid friendly (for the most part). PC games usually never had to be licensed.
>>3724109
This, plus I guess the target auditory had different ages. Especially when PCs used to cost much more than today.
>>3724104
It was pretty easy just to mass produce games onto disks and put them in a little slip to distribute them, no liscensing required like for a console.
Hell, FDS got a lot wilder than the Famicom because it was super easy to pirate games for.
Well /v/'s no help
Sup /vr/ I'm playing Kirby's Dream Land 3.
Care to share some tips? Like the best buddy power up combo?
>>3723975
Adolescence is playing Kirby.
Adulthood is realizing Clockwork Knight made so much more sense.
>>3723975
nago the neko is best buddy. fast and can triple jump on enemies. You will want to play KD3 with 2 players so you can play as Gooey.
forget that stupid pink goo girl
Nintendo
>No arcade versions for DK, DKJr, DK3. Mario Bros, or Popeye.
>No button mappings, meaning you have to use the actual A and B for many games, which is very uncomfortable
>their VC srvice uses filters
>Still Hasn't Released Doki Doki Panic in it's original state.
Sega (and also M2)
>Has arcade releases of games on VC
>Has Button Mappings
>Filters, if any, are optinal.
>Has ADDED modes and settings that are also optional
>allows you to switch between regional versions of their games
Why is Nintendo allowing a third party to beat them at their own service.
>>3723954
Sega does what Nintendoesn't.
>>3723954
Because Sega does what Nintendon't.
>>3723954
M2 is handling some of the work on the WiiU VC
Sega has really been too lazy to port their own stuff in years luckily they hired a company thats actually worth a shit
How can i get stereo sound if this is what the back of my tv looks like? it only has audio in and out, how would i plug both the red and white cables of a ps2 s-video cord into it to get more than mono sound? do I have to get speakers?
>>3723882
Can you produce a less shitty pic?
>>3723882
Looks like your tv only does mono
PC to Console games.
>>3723864
Its and unreleased game but its playable only in real hardware, prepare an empty memory card for this alone
>>3723864
doom on every console
/vr/, do you think this deserves the title of one of the greatest games of all time?
Not with that garbo camera.
Not even close. It was an interesting novelty, but it doesn't play that well.
Gum has some rocking hips in that cover art.
I've got a problem with my 3DO FZ-1, everything but the CD player works, the tray works but the lens doesn't move and the discs aren't spinning. Could anybody who repairs CD or DVD players fix this? Or is the 3DO the specific for that?
Clean the laser. Unfortunately I don't think there are any ohm adjustment pots on that model and there don't seem to be any replacement lasers available either. I should really fire mine up just to give it a little exercise it's been off for years.
>>3723738
>I've got a problem with my 3DO FZ-1--
Yes, you has one.
It`s possible to replace the entire CD drive with a compatible PC CDROM drive.
Check on youtube for tutorial.
Is final fantasy 7 remake worth it. When it comes out.
>>3723557
Modern games were a mistake. They're nothing but trash.
>>3723557
I have no idea how anyone can expect anything from this 'remake'.
Anyway not retro, take it /v/, maybe there someone will care
>>3723557
No. I'd rather play the original again and ignore the remake.
I've been doing research on flash drives recently and would like some advice on cart options. The most popular seem to be the EverDrive units but there are 2 web sites and it has me confused. One is krikzz.com and the other is .stoneagegamer.com. From what I can tell stoneagegamer has the best support but I thought they were the same items, apparently not. Any general info, recommendations and experiences would be appreciated! Over the next few months I would like to get one for all of my systems.
You forgot retrogate.com
Krikzz is the official store and is located in Ukraine.
Stoneagegamer is an authorized dealer that ships from US.
Order from whichever is closer to you
>>3723520
Krikzz designed and produces the everdrive line. You can order directly from him but he lives in Ukraine. I got a mega everdrive from him and it took about 35 days to arrive. Stone Age gamer is a US based reseller of krikzzs products. Not sure about retrogate. Also Stone Age seems to Jew you on prices by charging for stupid shit like cart screws you will never see or the color of the cart itself.
muh zelda
I was playing zelda II recently. it really is a good game: the overworld, how it handles random encounters, the magic system, combat, atmosphere, etc. and its difficult, with the final areas being legitimately challenging.
Dark Link is a worthy final boss. I'm able to win the fight fairly (no corner glitch, no magic) but not consistently.
>>3723372
>using magic makes the final boss fight unfais
explain
muh mario
merryo bruddas
Why even play any /vr/ console that doesn't have mario, seriously.

What is your retro game budget, be it per game or per span of time?
$3 each for retro or current games $1 each for 6th gen - or 20% of ebay value whichever is higher.
Suffice to say I haven't bought very many retro games in a while.
I don't like to go over $5 a game unless it's worth a lot more. Then it just depends on what the asking price is and how much I want the game.
>>3723303
I used to collect but when they wanted $159 for batman on Saturn I gave up and went to flashcarts/flash drives
Sold all my shit and haven't looked back
(And also haven't been happier)
This game is so wonky and strange but ive loved every minute of it. Are the sequels similar barring the trap based gameplay? I feel like I avoided using those and focused on summoning monsters more than anything (either im awful at timing or theres some rng in place that really works against you idk)
Deception general? This game doesnt seem to be discussed anywhere really
>>3723284
I love the Deception series.
The second game changes the basic mechanics significantly, and each successive title has expanded upon them. As a result, the first game is pretty unique and has some features all of the sequels lack (summons, room building, the masks, etc.) The sequels more than make up for it with improved combat and environments and such.
Every game in the series has a branching plotline (though some pull it off better than others) and is pretty dark in tone.
In my opinion, Deception 2 is the best of the "retro" entries.
what game is it??
