Anyone seen one of these before?

Sega lock on... Too easy to shoot your opponent by bouncing the beam off walls, objects etc.
Had a pair as a kid, decided it was a great idea to paint one of them black, and lost the head pieces.
>"retro gamer"
>plays on an HDTV
Every time I see a a /vr/ console on a 16:9 flat screen tv, I am oh so minimally vexed.
>>3727280
Not my fault I can't find CRTs that work.
>>3727280
Eventually that will be everyone.
ITT: Games where you can murder children in vanilla.
You don't see that shit in SJW-friendly modern games. It's more acceptable to show penis.
>>3727186
Are...are you retarded?
One's a body part, one is violence that even criminals frowns upon.
While both should be okay, showing a penis is no where near as bad as killing a child.
>>3727203
Let's grease this slope and render women invincible in games because society frowns on that as well.
>>3727186
>/pol/ leaking.
Just got the remaster. Already stuck.
What am I in for?

>yet another "what am I in for" thread
How about you do some research before buying next time?
a movie with obtuse puzzles
>>3727109
How about if you just answer my question or gtfo poorfag.
What is the strangest premise for a /vr/ game that you know of?
>>3727050
An italian plumber descending into pipes to enter a mushroom land, in order to rescue a princess from a hammer wielding turtle/dragon hybrid.

A young boy goes to school to fulfill his dream of becoming a high profile photographer. However his parents pass away and his grades suffer immensely. The principal reaches out to him and gives him a really STRANGE extra credit opportunity so he can pass and be eligible for graduation.
This is the story of Gekibo: Gekisha Boy.

I'm looking for more titles that have graphics similar to the 1st 2 generations of Pokemon (overworld sprites that is). Something like Link's Awakening comes to mind. Can anyone recommend me anything? Expecting something gb/gbc/nes, but open minded.
>>3726895
Harvest moon?
startopics, ultima iv etc.
most nes top down rpgs look like that
Casino Kid

It might help if you explained what it meant, I googled it and it means "foreign games are crap".
For everything up to the snes I can agree, Japan dominated in the 80's and early 90's, but honestly the when we got to the playstaion 1 era it really started to even out, with games like wipeout and crash bandicoot along with rare's output. I'd say the ps2 was the last real generation where it seemed relatively even, these days japan is really far behind what is being done in the west, with exceptions to games like dark souls.
Yôgê isn't the same as Yoge.
That sentiment isn't as widespread with modern games.
>a Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt NES cartridge will never be this cheap again
>>3726773
Where the fuck are you going?
I've never seen Mario/Duck Hunt for more than $15 (which is still absurd)
>>3726783
The picture doesn't show it well but there's a decimal before the two ;)
It was different times, SNES completely blew NES out of the water that why the hell would anyone want to go back to NES? N64 same story.. Then GameCube came out and it was like hmm, not so many good games but at least the good games are really really good... then Wii... what a fucking gimmick joke, things continued to go downhill (fucking hell the only reason to own a Wii U is for Mario Maker.) And now here we are today. All hope is lost of a good Nintendo system ever coming out again and all we can go is go back and grasp at what we once had.
Do any of you play this? I didn't assume it was anything special but it's actually fun as fuck.
>>3726494
Yeah, I got it.
I really need to play it more.
I got it at the same time I got Prof Layton vs Phoenix Wright, and I've been playing that game more.
Got it for Wii u which I regret doing. Seems like it'd be a lot more fun on a portable.
That said its not bad.
I've been meaning to pick it up. I probably should before it goes out of print and the price shoots up.
How about an Uncharted Waters thread?

Its on the SNES
What took good retro flashcarts so long to arrive? Why are there so few choices for some consoles? GBA flashcarts were there since early 2000s, and the choice got bigger and better over time, plus they were convenient and worked really well. But with retro consoles, from what I read it seems like before Everdrive came out, the existing options were pretty flawed and/or expensive. It's pretty much the only choice for a flashcart for some platforms, and that's when the retro boom is at its full force. What gives? Is it that the demand is so much lower than for flashcarts for new consoles?
Despite what you think it's actually a fairly small market.
Copier devices (usually Chinese shit) have been around forever. Magicom, Disk Hacker, etc. etc. These devices are how the first NES roms started being shared on the internet in the early 90s. Before any emulators existed, people were trading the roms to play back on real hardware. Copiers are the OG "flashcarts".
I think the real reason they didn't get more popular is because of the rise of emulators in the mid to late 90s. Emulators enabled piracy that was totally free. Why spend money on extra hardware when you could just emulate everything, console+cartridge, on a PC?
The other thing is, it's difficult to design and manufacture these kinds of devices unless you have close contacts with a Chinese PCB factory. Even then, it's legally risky, and the target market is tiny, much smaller than you'd think. From a business perspective, it's chump change. Not worth it.
>>3726425
All I want is that in 10 years every big console has it's own 100% compatible everdrive. Fuck emulation, I'll gladly pay to pirate if it means I get a better experience.
First-party games only.
SNES.
Pretty much every 1st party title which came out of Nintendo's Kyoto HQ during the first half of the 90's was absolute fucking gold.
If I can cheat, I'd say the Wii.
The wii alone wouldn't be that high on the list, it had a decent handful of games, but it also had backwards compatibility with the Gamecube, and since it introduced the Virtual Console, it basically had most of the previous generation's worthwhile games available... Plus the soft modding is easy as shit.
But if you have to judge it soley on it's library alone, I'm giving it to Super Nintendo.
Super Nintendo. No contest.
Original NES is a close runner-up owing to its huge historical impact, and the incredible price-performance ratio of the hardware (remember the Famicom was originally designed way back in 1982).
>First-party games only.
Fuck-a you, plumber boy.
Daaamn...you're ugly.

Fuck you Duke Nukem, when was the last time you were in a good game
>>3726262inb4 hurr nawt wetwo
is that duke nukem?!?!?!?!?
Ever let go of any /vr/ related stuff and have come to regret it? Now that retro stuff has become popular and the price of games is going up in collector's markets, I'm constantly reminded of all the stuff I let go to make a quick buck.
Pic related. I found this complete with microphone for $30 at my local independent game shop and I sold it along with a bunch of other Dreamcast games I had cause I was jobless and needed the money. I also let go of Shenmue which I bought for $20 off of a lady selling her kid's stuff after he moved out, and my Sega Saturn which was a gift from an ex-girlfriend.
Yeah well I sold all my games and systems when I was fourteen for weed money and I've spent the last ten years buying everything back
I never sold any retro stuff but I still remember the day when I bough Dynamite Deka 2.
Expected a next gen sequel to a fun arcade Saturn title, instead got some kind of retarded parody game with identical gameplay and ugly characters.
Loved the first game on Saturn but the sequel felt like some kind of insult and mockery towards me for wanting another Die Hard game.
A bunch of SNES games including Super Mario RPG, Plok, Dracula X, Super Mario All-Stars (I got the better AS+World cart now, but still), and many others I sold for like $10 a piece back in the late 90s to afford Lain VHSs.
At the time, I'd say it was worth it, but I do regret it now.
can anyone recommend any beat'em up games for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive like Golden Axe III
