that was actually a really intense fight, ended up only having the main characters left to finish it. for the first in the series it was not bad at all. looking forward to MT2 since people say it's better

CONGRATULATIONS!

thank you
i was just thinking about delving into this series. is it worth trudging through a bunch of megamu tensei games or should i stick with the persona series?
I've been trying to track him down and see if he's had any traces online. I searched from Ariga Hitoshi's twitter for clues, since he's interviewed him in the past. If google translate is telling the truth, he makes reference to Kitamura having a blog. But when you go there, the site is 404, and waybackmachine doesn't have a copy.

His magnum opus was Cocoron on the NES but the PC Engine sequel was never released despite being finished.

I don't read Japanese, so I'm relying on Google Translate, so the whole thing could be wildly off. But it's enough for me to look into.

Here's a pretty long interview with him and Hitoshi Ariga, who made several Megaman manga. It's a great interview, Ariga discusses things like how development and and levels were designed, inspirations and early elements later removed, and he even touches on the story he had originally wished to tell with Megaman.

Here's hoping it goes somewhere.
I'm sure this will be finished and won't be another UE4 remake of a classic game that goes nowhere.
you know, a simple DF1 remake in DF2 engine would suffice.

That motion blur is absurd almost any slight movement sets it off.
I bought pic realted and tried it on my toaster NES /w lockout chip disabled. Not a single game will work with it. What gives?
>>4039846
boy am I glad I didn't buy one of those. hahaha
you are better off using one of the converters made by nintendo. some nes games used them in their carts to convert famicom games
>>4039846
>playing weebshit on glorious american reaganomics box nes
>>4039846
Are you putting the cartridges in the right way (label down)?
Do we still do these? I haven't been on /vr/ in awhile.

They rarely last more than a few posts.
They used to be super popular. I remember a few years ago, I couldn't come here without seeing one.
I got some of the best deals I've ever had in the old BST threads.
I wonder why they died out.

I have Mario RPG and LTTP up for trade.
Anybody else think Banjo Kazooie kinda sucks? I bought a copy of it just to have it but its just really boring
My experience with B-K:
Bought it back then, didn't like the controls, I remember getting frustrated, I probably couldn't read the instructions well, my english was very bad when I was a kid.
I returned it and got SW Episode I Racer.
Then around 2008 I started buying old games (back when they were cheap and the collection craze wasn't at its peak yet), I got B-K, played it, found it okay but I still never finished it.
I also found the sounds a bit annoying, I especially remember one day I was playing alone at night, I was playing the snow level, and the sound the musical notes make when you collect them got so much into my nerves that I had to quit playing. And the level was plagued with these musical notes, even if I tried to avoid collecting them, they were everywhere.
Anyway, it's not really a bad game, I guess I just had a sour experience with it, in part due to my own incompetence (as a kid) and my lack of patience (the sounds as an adult).
But I still proggressed a lot, I think I got stuck in the horror themed stage.Whats weird is that I liked DK64 and completed it at 101%
>>4039778
I think the trick to enjoying B-K is to accept that it is a silly childish collect-a-thon
And speedrunning it
But maybe the only reason I don't hate this game is because I've had it since I was a baby and have the whole thing memorized
I could write you a guide
Nah.
Honestly I've been tempted to buy a used Xbox one just so I could have Rare Replay and I probably wouldn't be playing any on it but Banjo and Conker, nor would I purchase any other games for the system.
I remember awhile back someone made a thread for just posting anything, let's get another going.
This thread is for posting literally anything related to retro games. Official art, fan art, magazine covers and ads, gifs, webms, links to websites or videos, anything is welcomed as long as pertains to the board's rules. If you have something you think is cool and want others to see post it here.
Which one do you prefer?

Snatcher is an adventure game.
Policenauts is a barely interactive visual novel. Not a hard choice.
Blade Runner

Mah nigga.
The great debate
There's no debate to have, everybody knows which game is better. The only debate is whether Cross is complete shit or just disappointing compared to its predecessor.
chrono trigger came out on a nintendo console, therefore it is better
same way FFVI is better than VII
fuck square for thinking they could leave glorious nintendo

Sick false flag bro.
ITT legit rage moments you had as a kid
Bison being a cheap as fuck asshole even on easy mode.
Tony Hawk 1 and 2.
When you fight Sheng Long in SF2 - very hard boss and hard to unlock
>>4039117
>Tony Hawk 1 and 2.
elaborate
Annnoying part about Tony Hawk are the competition waves, because if you fail it takes a long time to recover.
I just beat this little strategy game and it was pretty fun. what are some other hidden gems?
I think part of the fun on Japanese computers comes from the pioneer spirit. A lot of these games are barely covered even by Japanese sources. You might be the first person on /vr/ to play these games.
I'm currently playing Ray-gun which isn't that great.

yeah, i like this feeling of exploration too. a lot of shitty games to go through but some interesting stuff appears here and there. plus since most of them have porn, it's also morally exotic
