Can you think of some 16bit/bit high quality platformers with nice colourful graphics that arent Yoshi's Island, Plok! and Rayman?
Mario World and the Sonic games dont look as good IMO.
Should I give a try to Megaman 7, 8 and the Playstation Megaman X games?
I don't remember that level from rayman at all, must be from the pc expansion.
Mr Nutz
Goemon series
I'm bored. Someone, send me a free Laseractive to play with.
Laserdisc gaming general, I guess.
>send me a free
are you a famous Youtuber I can become a fan of?
How's that Daphne support for LaserActive coming along?
Did that guy who was ripping and dumping's wife make him stop?
>>2781996
>famous Youtuber
No thanks, though I'm envious of the money I don't want to become a pewdiepie
I've heard that this clone of the Gameboy Color has really high compatibilty while having a backlit screen. Anyone who has any experience with it, that can confirm?
Compatibility is fine and controls are better than they look. That too-wide screen tho...
>>2781998
This, it's on sale for $25.99 for a while this month, so it's totally worth that.
Or get a supercard sd for half as much and play everything on your advance
Hope, I'm right here. Gf never learned proper mouse + keyboard handling as in 'being able to play an ego shooter on pc'. Wanted to introduce her to quake 1 this weekend. Anon, what is the proper way to bring q1 with latest updates, optimizations, addons etc. to a win7 (64) machine? WHAT to grad WHERE? I kinda remember there where uncountable mods, patches and the like. Help me get through this jungle, please.

Darkplaces source-port, needed for most of this stuff to work:

try with a Retron5, my wife loves it and it takes less space
Project64/Mupen64 GLIDE(n)64 vs Dolphin Virtual Console?
Which one do you use? Which one do you think is superior for emulation?
Same question goes for the other consoles.
Dolphin Virtual Console or Nestopia, bnes, etc...?
VC has a pretty limited selection of games.
>>2782175
Really? That sucks. I always thought it was the best, but Pokemon Snap still doesn't work.
mupen64plus w/ rice-video-linux because muh freedum
If something like that is sticking out on the bottom of your spaceship, then how the hell are you supposed to land the spaceship without breaking that thing off?
>>2781706
It probably folds up.
If something like that is sticking out on the bottom of your bird, then how the hell are you supposed to land the bird without breaking that thing off?
what about this one?
i don't see any fucking joints or anything that lead me to believe that these wings/tails can fold up
Maybe you knew already.
Eggplant Wizard told jokes in the cartoon Captain N because he was part of a pun in the game.
In Japanese the words for nurse and eggplant are homophones, なす and ナス respectively.
I didn't know that. Thanks
>>2781590
They're not homophones, the a in the first vowel is long in nurse and short in eggplant.
But yes, they're similar enough to create jokes around.
I take back 20% of my thanks because of what this guy >>2781663 said. Fuck you for misrepresenting the situation, OP.
anyone else here remember this game for psx?
>>2781569
WOW me and a mate played that at long time ago in Bondi used to have to put music cd's in to get new monsters
>>2781569
Yeah I adored this game as a kid. The mechanic of putting in a variety of different discs for unique monsters was genius.
Every time someone talks about that Monster Hunter game I think they're talking about this and get pissed off that it's not still around. This game was the shit
We know Nintendo was kinda stingy about the cost of the chip, but what other games would have benefited from it?
As far as I know it didn't affect performance at all, all it could do was simple polygons and sprite rotation. The SDA-1 would have been more useful.
>>2781453
Whoops, I mean SA-1.
None, nobody cares about 3d if it means playing games at 5 fps.
Does anybody have some pictures, without scanlines, that show the difference between the Model 1 and 1-CHIP SNES models? I have heard mixed opinions on the 1-chips, with some people saying they have more colour and are much sharper, while others say that the shading isn't right and some games look terrible because of it.
I dont have photos, but I have had both regular and 1chip snes' and I can say with a fair bit of certainty that the 1chip is better.
>>2781328
I have both as well, and while the regular is less sharp and has more colorbleed, the 1CHIP has a far noiser image and way overbright whites and less dark blacks. I feel that on the balance of things, the regular is better (but I can understand why people might like the 1CHIP).
Is this the kind of thing you're after OP?
>>2781375
This ending is better than the Japanese version
And what is it in the Japanese version? I have only seen the Gods Free Land version.
>>2781329
This is the Japanese ending
the one in OP's pic is the American version.
>>2781095
Nah, seeing the villain was way cooler. What a great antagonist, I'd love another Ristar game just to see him again.
hi bros
So i was planning on buying something like pic related. because i'm tired of having to wire/unwire all my shit permanently.
Should i buy a manual or automatic one ? Any preferences ? tips ?
Also battlestation general showoff i guess
don't buy a really cheap one
yep forgot to mention frenchpalfag here.
I heard manual ones could damage consoles if several buttons were pressed at once. While i'm not dumb enough to do that, i genuinely would like to know if this is true.
>>2781093
what would you recommend then ?
Move right, shoot bad dudes until they blow up, move more right, shoot more bad dudes, shoot a boss until he dies, repeat.
Whatever happened to the run and gun genre? Are they still being made? I love the Metal Slug games for the most part, I love Contra and I love both of the Treasure efforts on the Megadrive. Any recommendations?
>>2780806
>Move right
No top-down run n guns allowed?
>>2780809
I'm open to them, I'll admit I prefer moving right than top down, those bits in Contra 3 weren't great but I'm game.
alien soldier
midnight resistance
gunforce 2
devil front
dolphin blue
dyna gear
shock troopers (don't play the second one)
Anyone wanna play some coop?
Actually, we should play some FVF quest.
FVF Quest was to my knowledge the first FPS mod that implemented an rpg classes type system with EXP. It's basically quake coop with super strong monsters, and a bunch of classes which you can level up.
Download it here http://fvfonline.com/
Extract the .zip into a directory named "fvf" inside your Quake directory.
I'm using FTE Quake and I can host a server. Download version 1.03+ here http://fte.triptohell.info/
I've been thinking for a long time about trying to get people interested in this, it's hilarious fun for 4 people. FTE Quake has voice chat also.
>>2780004
This is so cool
>>2780012
I'm trying to figure out how to set up the server now. I'm not sure if this mod fully cooperates with FTE quake but it should
Now that Jekyll and Hyde has been proven to be beatable do you think you could do it? Do you think you could get the good ending?
Proven beatable by whom? Mike 'Midgetcock' Matei? The game came out decades ago, it's been known it's beatable since the last millennium
Btw I know Mike IRL and he started the huge cock rumor....
