Yeah I adored this game as a kid. The mechanic of putting in a variety of different discs for unique monsters was genius.

Every time someone talks about that Monster Hunter game I think they're talking about this and get pissed off that it's not still around. This game was the shit

As far as I know it didn't affect performance at all, all it could do was simple polygons and sprite rotation. The SDA-1 would have been more useful.

I dont have photos, but I have had both regular and 1chip snes' and I can say with a fair bit of certainty that the 1chip is better.

I have both as well, and while the regular is less sharp and has more colorbleed, the 1CHIP has a far noiser image and way overbright whites and less dark blacks. I feel that on the balance of things, the regular is better (but I can understand why people might like the 1CHIP).

Actually, we should play some FVF quest.

FVF Quest was to my knowledge the first FPS mod that implemented an rpg classes type system with EXP. It's basically quake coop with super strong monsters, and a bunch of classes which you can level up.

Extract the .zip into a directory named "fvf" inside your Quake directory.

I'm using FTE Quake and I can host a server. Download version 1.03+ here http://fte.triptohell.info/

I've been thinking for a long time about trying to get people interested in this, it's hilarious fun for 4 people. FTE Quake has voice chat also.
