Hey /vr/, I'm playing through Planescape Torment for the first time, and I'm a bit overwhelmed.
Any tips/advice you guys could give me?
>>2865727
Actually, yes. One thing I didn't notice at first was the map function. Walk around a new area of the city, and open your map. It lays out the entire area with markers showing the names of locations and stuff like that. It's really useful to just walk in a circle in the city to get the map so it is less overwhelming.
Other than that, just do some side quests and talk to people. It gets a lot less overwhelming once you understand the city (there are only 4 or 5 main areas that are easily mapped)
Same here senpai spent hours in the crypt, game's gonna take awhile.
Same here senpai spent hours in the crypt, gonna take a while to finish this I reckon.
RTS games all the best rts games seem to fit into retro now so lets have a thread on it. Starcraft, Red Alert 2, Warcraft 2, Dune 2000, Settlers iii, AOE 1/2 and more.

Dark Reign
Total Annihilation
Seven Kingdoms
Warlords Battlecry

Starcraft & Brood War are once again getting reworked into their open source remake Stargus. With added editing capabilities and game enhancements, this could perhaps make the game attractive not only for online playing with friends, but also for new and more complex fan campaigns.
>>2865153
Stargus in action. Now with proper keyboard shortcuts and building health bars.
What does /vr/ think about Lunar: Eternal Blue?
Just started the Sega CD version, music is incredible, and last boss is kick ass as fuck

Spellcross. Anyone played it? Your thoughts on this game
>>2849546
Looked at the wiki article. Contemporary earth with fantastical creatures.
Go on...
>In Spellcross, a contemporary Earth military fights for survival against an extradimensional invasion of orcs, undead, harpies and other fantastical creatures.
was the GATE anime based on this game
I didn't think I see the day when someone would make a post about Spellcross that wasn't me.
I'm making a DOOM was allowing access to the Forces of Darkness/Other Side as new demons (see video and screenshot)

I have an old FFVII disk. I want to fucking play it. I got to Bugenhagen, but the game freezes up in the middle of his speech every time. I tried cleaning it with water and toilet paper, but that did nothing. I tried resetting the PS2 a bunch of times; nothing. I don't want to buy a new disk because even used copies are like 30 dollars. I'm prepared to try anything to fix this, since the alternative is throwing it out. Tell me the arcane secrets of disk cleaning, /vr/. You're my only hope.

The fucking thread..AGAIN?!?!
>>2872728
I've never made this thread before.
>>2872715
You can pick up that game for 9.99 at any retro game store or half price books.
Also use a lighter. Hold it far away from the scratch you want fixed and slowly warm it up until the plastic melts ever so slightly and becomes uniform. Don't do this if you're retarded and don't understand heat though, you'll warp the disc and you're fucked.
Want to play Donkey Kong Country 2 with my friend in Sweden.
We have the same ROM and emulator. (ZSNES Version 1.42)
I followed this tutorial: http://148.251.22.76/newnet/en/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=392&Itemid=324
Entered port number it gave on the website, but our game doesn't work. Anyone know what we're doing wrong?
Also, Netplay thread.
>>2870347
Uncheck the Use UDP thing.
>>2870347
Whichever one of you is the server probably needs to have that port open on your router to allow incoming requests.

>Want to play Donkey Kong Country 2 with my friend in Sweden.
He can play it by leaving his house
Fighting Games Thread ..... GO !
Virtua Fighter 2 is a masterpiece and the best 3D /vr/ related fighting game by light years.
fighting games are shit
>>2869839
Another great post on /vr/
The music sounds a lot more energetic on sega, for snes its low quality music.the graphics look a lot more colorfull on sega with with a bigger contrast between colors, unlike snes where it looks blury. Most Genesis games run at a higher resolution than SNES games which means Genesis graphics are sharper with better details while everything is stretched on SNES. Add to this that the Genesis has a better RGB output than the SNES for an even better picture on Genesis.
I'll fight you IRL!!!
I'm not sure why this warranted a thread, but yes.
I don't like the genesis' music as much. Somehow, I feel like I'm in the minority on this.
Why do people keep buying this junk thinking it's the real deal? That's infuriating. So many Facebook kids think now it's how a Megadrive sounds like.
Because it is available.
>>2867890
Who gives a shit? Different units sounded different already. Your classic Genesis sound could well be different from mine already. It really doesn't matter so long as someone is having fun with games.
>>2867901
I think you vastly underestimate how terrible that clone is. Look it up.
What are some good Star Wars retro games? I just saw my first Star Wars movie last night anf it was pretty good so now I'm wondering about the franchise.
Play the Famicom emulation. It is superb. Trust me.

Oh shut up internet expert
Favorite games?
Whatcha been playing recently?
Best OST?
Most polished combat?
Wall of shame?
I have been playing the D&D games a lot recently, they are both quite fun. Tower of Doom is very solid and challenging, it's the perfect balance between melee combat and RPG elements. Shadow over Mystara has more content and variety but is kinda broken. Still, it's quite enjoyable.
King of Dragons > *
Guardians is fucking fantastic its find like a fighter which I love
Battle circuit is also fantastic, the buying system is great and I love the theme and aesthetic
>>2863419
King of Dragons is great too, after all it's pretty much the predecessor of Tower of Doom.
Was it murder?
>>2863131
no, because murder only applies to humans. it did nothing wrong though.
It wasn't against the law, so not really. But the whole point of Metroid games is that you run around killing random wildlife in your quest to exterminate Metroids.
>>2863149
Okay, but that would at least make it highly immoral.
>>2863151
>But the whole point of Metroid games is that you run around killing random wildlife ....
....yes wildlife which is hostile towards your, in this case croco was just standing there minding his business, even being scared of you maybe.

Could the Saturn with a 4MB or more RAM cart handle this game?
I'm not talking 3rd Strike, just vanilla NG.
>>2871352
It doesn't look like anything the saturn couldn't do, but the whole III series flopped so I'm guessing that's why it wasn't ported asap.
3S didn't blow up until after the daigo video, and thats when the ps2\xbox port came to the west
Is New Generation supposed to be less demanding on the console? I always thought the three SF3 games were mostly the same.
>>2871365
I just figured that since it had less characters, it might be less hardware intensive. Then again, if there is a difference between all three games it's negligible.
