What games actually used the right stick on the original PlayStation (besides Ape Escape)?
>>2867396
vagrant story used it in a weird way to switch on the first person camera, but that is probably not what you are looking for.
Just off the top of my head:
Colony Wars
Medal of Honor
Quake II
Ace Combat 3
Syphon Filter 2 (this was used to move your character but have the camera stay locked, I used it quite a lot actually)
Alien resurrection had a modern control scheme and got panned in reviews because people didnt get it lol.
I played it the other night and thought it was amazing. Much better than the first one but sucks this game was never released. What do you think of this game?
>>2865803
I forgot this existed, I really wanna play it now.
Two thumbs up
>>2865803
I really wish Nintendo would either put it on the eshop or even better reskin and put it on 3DS like starfox 64
May we have one, /vr/? It's nearly impossible to discuss anything AoE proper on /v/ without shitposting now and you lot have better mods
What's your favorite
>Civ from the base game and each expansion
>Campaign
>Random map type
>Iteration of the game
>Dickass strategy
>>2821734
>May we have one, /vr/?
I give my blessing.
Tribute a bump
>>2821734
On /vr/? Sure why not.
The vanilla game was good but 1st expansion made it an all time favorite for me. Plus it probably has one of the best opening cinematic as far as games go.
Byzantines best race.
Can someone tell me why SNES games are so expensive?
because ppl in their 30s like me don't know what to do with their money and wanna sink into nostalgia from the 90s
>>2875910
way too damn true
>sold a lot of my SNES collection when I was a dumb teenager in the late 90s
Fuck.
At least I got to buy some good shit in the early 00s when prices were mad cheap
Let's get a BST going, huh?
would anyone be willing to swap mario party 2 for 3 straight up? I have 3 but I prefer the second one
Also buying F-zero X, if its cheap enough
I'm looking for an original NES controller.
As long as it works, I don't mind its physical state.
Man these always die so quickly. I've had nothing but good experiences with these.
Why is there so much information about Sega Saturn emulation?
SSF works great for 99% of games but people are constantly saying that saturn emulation is shit, is it just because they are mad that they bought the console thinking that it wasn't possible to emulate?
I don't think there's any cohesive website that discusses the state of emulation in general, so people are confused, very confused. Like thinking N64 emulation is good.
>>2872363
I wonder this same thing for the Nintendo 64. In my experience, with a Dell Inspiron from 2008, I'm able to emulate the majority of games without a hitch. Sometimes it crashes, and slows down, but it's very easy to see past that when you have tons of games to play. I've been able to emulate approximately fifty games for n64 nearly perfectly, since 2006. PJ 64 1.7 has worked fine. People are just too stupid to adjust plug ins. Or a variable framerate is too much for them. In which case they shouldn't play n64 games anyway. Or any fifth gen games.
>>2872376
agreed
So all the good Star Wars games are no longer canon?
they never really were
>>2864363
who fucking cares what george said they are cannon anything made after return cinema wise DID NOT HAPPEN though i have not seen the new one yet
>>2864363
You forgot to include a picture of a good Star Wars game.
Why did Link have pink hair, and why didn't Nintendo keep it for further iterations? Personally, I think pink hair looks awesome on him.
Bumping with more pink haired Link.
cute pictures
The last Parasite Eve 2 thread made me want to replay the game, which I had never beat (years ago it used to glitch out at the end boss on my emulator... it's fine now).
So I finally beat it yesterday night and I enjoyed it a lot, probably more than 1, and I'm looking into replay modes.
I think I got the normal ending, and I unlocked 2 modes : what seems to be a new game + with the same game; and Bounty Mode.
Would you guys recommend Bounty Mode? Or the new game + ? what's the most fun? Is it doable to get the "good ending" without a guide or does it take some bullshit stuff to do that noone would have a chance to figure out on his own?
>>2853616
You saved the dog right? Because if you didn't then you really should just kill yourself
>>2853616
I can't remember exactly because it was so long time ago, but definitely check out differences between those two new modes.
Game is insanely replayable, shit loads of ranks that net you different weapons.
If I recall Bounty is classic new game+ where you get to use everything you unlocked so far in the game. But it gives you less points for end game rank while scavanger is quite brutal at times because there is so few ammo to be found.
There is also one mode in which enemy placement is completely changed and you end up fighting golems right from the start. Its actually great.
>>2853693
I save the dog but not Pierce apparently
>>2853721
Actually Bounty is harder difficulty. The first mode you're referring too is the classic new game+ which name escapes me.
I'm gonna give Bounty a try though it seems challenging.
My stats for my previous play
Reccomend me obscure Playstation games, any genre is fine
Incredible Crisis.
RC de GO!, an excellent racing game.
Super Bubble Pop. Mostly for the soundtrack

Hey, the interview was solid as fuck. You also missed Silent Hill.
>>2784357
It was about 10 minutes, the rest was about Konami and the challenges. Another thread with people complaining they didn't get the episode they wanted.
Anyone else remember this game?
>>2872289
It's widely regarded as a classic and the best game in the Serpent Riders games. Why wouldn't anyone. /vr/ used to have small generals about Hexen for a while.
Better question would be if anyone remembers Hexen 2 as it's never brought up.
>>2872308
i know about hexen 2 but ive never played it. and i know noone in my life whose ever known about hexen besides a family member of mine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w72kj20YNA0&feature=youtu.be
Holy fucking shit they did it. The fucking madmen. Everyone get the fuck in here. The first ever footage of Project Dream on the SNES and N64. This is the fucking Holy Grail.
This is surprisingly non rubbish after the one they made about conker gone medieval.
>>2869995
what?
>>2870014
They made a video about the scrapped conker sequel Gone Medieval, turned out to be just a bunch of concept arts for multiplayer skins to be used on live and reloaded.
Everyday is chest day mother fucker.
Closing in on what is "hopefully" the final moments of the game. Holy shit, Lloyd has gone through some stuff. I bought the 2nd game, but was disappointed to later read its only like 70% translated or something... Is it still worth it?
>>2869323
Yes, the second game is fucking awesome. Great story and much improved gameplay. Just make sure you get the "Ultimate Hits" version (not the original release) because it adds the option to skip battle animations and the battle animations + loading screens take a long time.
Also, not sure if you're aware but the PS1/DS version of FM1 has an additional scenario from the perspective of someone on the other side of the conflict so you might want to play that next.
>Lloyd has gone through some stuff
He sure has.Just wait until you see him in a secret FM2 mission.
>>2869334
Yeah - I'm actually really wondering how this game will end. I'm done playing for the night but fuck I just foughtOlsenlike 30 times, I dunno what it takes to end this thing.
Gun Hazard is the best.
OLD THREAD SO OLD IT IS RETRO IN OF ITSELF:
https://warosu.org/vr/thread/S1532342
Any of you dorks still got copiers laying around?
>duh guh bluh muh orginal hw/repros/flashcarts/emulat-*cocksucking noises*
Yeah yeah, all that stuff is better, we know. Can't it be argued that retro nostalgia can also apply to the weird HK "backup" devices we used in the ROM scenes' infancy?
Pic is of my old Game Doctor SF7. Floppy drive finally kicked it so I got one of those cheapo gotek hardware emulators off ebay. Works pretty good. No disks, no noise, no more moving parts, less video interference.
>>2861964
OG POST FOR THE LAZY:
Ever wonder where your old console ~*{ROMZ}*~ came from? Chances are, some nerd in 1992 imported a game copier from china for like, $700 and ripped his carts for you. Thousands of games, sitting on dialup BBSes years before anyone started coding the emulators to run them.
Super futuristic copier features included:
-several megabytes of high speed RAM to store your ROM file during playback. Don't pull the power though, or you'll have to reload the entire game though...
-the floppy drive! Chrono Trigger took a while to load since you had to swap four whole disks that the game was split across. For the extra-baller, copiers were available with parallel ports you could hook up to your dope 386 DOS machine, which sped up file transfers considerably.
-cheat codez!
-barely-comprehensible chinese GUI!
As late as 2008, before cheap (and awesome) flash carts started coming out for nearly every retro console, these old copiers were still THE way to play translations and other hacks on the original hardware. A used Game Doctor SF3 could be had for 35$ and would run ~95% of SNES games. You just had to find some disks and figure out the shitty DOS software that would convert/split your ROMs back to whatever long forgotten interleaved format the stupid thing used for some reason.
>>2861964
that's pretty neat actually, what games does it not play?
>>2862106
Nigga what? Can you not read?
It plays all games. It literally rips rom images from games or plays back rom images already ripped games. It is console specific as well.
