How do I get this shit working, the right button on my genesis controller doesnt work anymore. I rubbed it with alcohol and shit and cleaned the whole controller. Is it just fucked? I wouldnt care so much but no place in town has any genesis controllers and Id rather not order one.
>>2877271
Just fucking spend 5 dollars on a new one, it's cheaper than a meal at McDonald's you poor cunt
>>2877278
Man I just said I'd rather not order one, I'll buy a new one if I cant get it to work. Thanks for nothing fag
>>2877284
go fuck yourself idiot, maybe if you werent too busy buying bullshit razr gear you would be able to afford a new controller, but you aren't and instead are making yourself look really stupid
Hi /vr.
I've just tried Battle squadron and Agony on WinUAE and i am really, REALLY loving it. Think i can get along with amiga titles just fine.
What, in your opinion, are essential/best/good/worthwile

>rayceen'
>platforman'

>shmoopan'
For the platform? I'd prefer exclusives and/or versions that are noticeably better than on the other systems. Also, what is with control scheme of All-terrain racing on amulator? Only working keys for either Joystic1, Joystic2 or Keyboard selected are left-right(or z/x) and move forvard (ctrl or num5). Also, a game tend to go grey screen immediately after some launches. What can it be?
Well, i guess we have an Amiga thread now.
Bump.

I'll bump for you with some music.

Virocop is freaking tight. You pilot an R2D2 looking bot through top-down videogame worlds inside a computer to do some weaponbased virus cleaning. Really wish more games took the kind of 'it's top down but also has platforming' approach - only really seen it done in Spot goes to Hollywood and Sonic 3d. Also recommend Walker for a bit of mouse and keyboard carnage. Arrows move your mech, guns are entirely mousepiloted, hordes of lemming-sized soldiers try to take you down. They're p.much fucked. Gets tough later on with tanks and planes trying to get a piece of you.
>rayceen'
>>2876825 is correct choice, but Overdrive by Team 17 is similarly decent, too. Of course the real choice is Super Skidmarks but who am I to judge. There's a decent Road Rash port. Lotus series were always the best spritescaling racers. Super Cars II is another like ATR and Overdrive.
>platforman'
Too many to fucking say. Ruff n' Tumble is great, as is Robocod and Soccer Kid. Arabian Nights was a favourite for playing sort of like a Wonder Boy/Monster World game but with stages. Yo! Joe! is another great one with huge levels. Lionheart is pretty much Turrican with swords and fricking amazing spriting. Benefactor was a fantastic puzzle/platformer with Lemmings-sized sprites.
>Beat'em upan'
The one genre the system does suck for but there's a few brave attempts. Shadow Fighter was decent, I hear Fightin' Spirit is great and it looks like it goes for an SNK feel. Fucking terrible Street Fighter ports so everyone went for Body Blows which did suck but sucked significantly less than most. Elfmania looked pretty but played floaty as hell.
>shmoopan'
APIDYA APIDYA APIDYA I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH PLAY APIDYA. Gradius clone that is up there with the SNES port of 3. Feels like a console game. Interesting as hell theme where you're a bee fighting other insects with missiles and lasers, and later on you get refitted into a mecha bee. Hardcore.
What are you listening?
The Legacy Music Hour
Episode 3: experimental music.
>>2875624
Fucking master piece OP. I still have the CD that came with the game.
>>2875624
>What are you listening?
Why is your grammar?
What's that game I'm trying to remember called?
It was a third person rts-ish thing where you played some sort of summoner who harvested the souls of fallen enemies in order to summon monsters and complete objectives. You could order your minions indirectly, but played from the perspective of the summoner, and could assist them on the battlefield with various spells and stuff.
Pic unrelated.
>>2874378
masters of magic for dos
that was too easy
>>2874447
Nah, that's not the one. It was an over-the-shoulder-cam sort of deal, and there was some stuff about choosing a God to follow or something.
Holy shit, best christmas ever. One of my favorite games ever just got a completed translation.
Before with the unfinished translation, all the signs in the game were still Japanese, making a walkthrough required. But now all the graphical text has finally been finished.
Go play this game guys, seriously. I highly recommend it

Looks really gay.

It should be right up your alley then faggot

My new years resolution is to leave 4chan. What are some unmissable retro games that I'll never be able to ask you about again? All genres except rpg, obscure and known games, doesn't matter.
>>2870374
Nothing is ever unmissable because tastes vary so much. Just download rom dumps and then you'll have nearly a life time of games to discover and enjoy.
Trust me, the fun of clicking on some random title you've never heard of and discovering a really fun game is a better feeling than you will ever get out of recommendation threads.
Bye.
>>2870386
That's actually pretty cool advice
>>2870374
Star Control 2 (best played as The Ur-Quan Masters, which is a port of the superior 3DO version).
Does there exist an accurate list "firsts" in video games? For example, was Earthbound the first to have a rolling HP bar?
>>2866515
I think /vr/ could make this list on their own.
From what will we begin?
>>2866659
No idea.
EB was in fact the very first full video game ever released!
Here's a thread for Gb/GBC music that gets overshadowed, underappreciated or downright ignored. Bring in the best tunes.

Classic Super Mario official art thread.
I'll be posting some of my favorite Mario art, some obscure, some others not so obscure, but always official, not fan art.
Got any cool pics to share?
>>2876353
Not exactly official art, but thanks for the effort anon
I'm going to dump a bunch of BoF pics, starting with my fav, BoF2. Help me out if you can.
that looks like shit.
Because Valis: The Fantasm Soldier is already taken by me.
Pauline is totally worth jumping over some barrels for
>a qt Chinese martial arts master will never train you and let you sleep on her couch
>Calling Yuko "Valis"
How can you claim her as your waifu if you don't even know her actual name?
Comfiest game in existence.
Currently doing my first mage run since I got mob raped as a warrior in Hell.
The cursed village of Tristram is the best location in any game, ever.
Have you tried the Belzebub mod?
The sanctity of this place has been fouled.
>play as Warrior
>game becomes retard hard when you reach Hell
>play Mage/Rogue
>rape everything without difficulty
I get the feeling they didn't playtest this extensively.
Which final fantasy is the best?
>>2874345
I'm probably in a minority, but my favorite ones were the ones where you can change classes, like three and five.
>>2874351
Uh you can change classes in Final Fantasy Dimensions too. But that's not retro... SO IT DOESN'T EXISTS!!!
>>2874345
I'll just rank what I played all the way through.
VII > X > VI > XII
Got to beat some more of course. Next few will most likely be FF VIII, IX and II (snes version so FFIV I guess).
I miss this guy. Can we have a Keen thread? Post whatever you got. Discuss.
fastest scrolling algorithm in the world, nintendo was really impressed
This series has so much untapped potential and a shitload of charm to go with it.
Daily reminder that Mortimer did nothing wrong.
Now that the dust has settled, is this title worthy of the praise or is it to be trashed into the dustbin of video game history as an overrated hipster magnet?
>>2874513
Sonic CD is a hipster magnet? No one I know even bothers with the Sega CD! Hipsters are more concerned with NES and Earthbound.
Dust that the settle has now
Yep, worthy.
