What are some good retro games starring Looney Tunes characters?
I remember playing a lot of shitty ones back in my childhood, but in the other hand I enjoyed Taz-Mania for Genesis and Sylvester and Tweety in Cagey Capers.
>>2919438
Maui Mallard.
Darkwing Duck.
Although I guess those aren't exactly Looney Toons, but I feel like it's close enough.
Looney Tunes Space Race
Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf for PC
So, courtroom is in order.
Is Zelda 2: LA a bad game?
Defense, prosecution... make your case.
Fuck off back to /v/.
>>2910365
a bad game? not a chance, try explaining to the autists the actual truth that 50% of the NES's library is though
If Zelda 2 is a "bad" game then it's closer to 90% with that criteria
No.
It was great, just very hard, retards confuse difficulty with bad gameplay.
Metroid Thread
What's your favorite game in the series? Least favorite? What do you want to see in the next game?
>>2907509
>Favorite game
It was Prime for a long time, but I'm playing Super for a second time and absolutely loving it. I didn't finish it the first time, and I don't know why I didn't like it back then. I guess I'd have to play Prime again too for an accurate comparison.
>Least favorite
Other M.
>Next game
I don't trust Nintendo anymore.
>Favorite gameFusion
Although Super Metroid does have a special place in my heart, and I don't find it at all overrated.Fusionwas just that much more interesting with its atmosphere and plot developments.
>Least favoriteOther M
>What I want to see in the next Metroid title
Unless Nintendo sells the IP to another studio, I don't. Let's hope Nintendo doesn't do any more damage to the series before their corporate practices eventually bankrupt them.
>Other thoughts
I don't think Metroid II gets enough attention. The game is very solid for what it is. My only complaint is the forced linearity with the acid pools funneling you from one section to the other. At least it does allow you to backtrack at your leisure, and there is some incentive to do so when you get certain upgrades and want to go hunting for energy tanks and missile expansions.
Favorite: Super Metroid
Least: Metroid
Next Game: Super Metroid HD

This thread is for the spirited discussion of CRT displays - Televisions, monitors and projectors used for the playing of retro games!
>Try to keep it /vr/-related: Nothing past 5th gen(+Dreamcast). Slight OT might be okay if related to CRTs (E.G. 16:9 compatible models, flatscreens, etc.) Systems with backwards compatibility are also pretty safe territory, assuming you're focusing on the older games. PC CRTs are also a-ok.
>Produce OC! Get out your real cameras and take beautiful pictures of your CRTs displaying recognizable characters with the kind of beautiful accuracy that brings tears to the eyes of young and old alike! If you take 100 photos, at least one of them will turn out alright! (maybe)
>Try to be as detailed as possible when asking info on a specific model. As always, google is your friend, and we are your friends with benefits. Older archived threads aren't a bad place to look either.
>Share appreciation for others choice of technology and personal philosophy of gaming. As always show courtesy in your discussion and moderate yourselves first.
Discussion of video processing and scaling devices is okay, but try to keep the focus on CRTs and CRT accessories

Turbografx-16 thread.
I've never owned this system and I'd like to get into it. What would be a fair price of I were to buy one on eBay? What are the essential games for it?
>>2925484
just buy a Japanese Duo or Duo-R, and an everdrive. Those two things shouldn't cost more than $300 together
People who buy a Turbografx will want a CD system at some point, so just save some time and buy a Duo
the games are way too expensive right now
Essential games? It's a console that has a lot of shooters and some platformers. Plenty of RPGs but most of them are in Japanese
Here's all the worthwhile platformers, unless you like Valis. Some of them are outstanding, while others are okay
>Bonk 1
>Bonk 2 (one of the best games ever made)
>Bonk 3 (decent, most people don't like it)
>Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (10/10 game)
>Shockman (use Turbo switches)
>Shubibinman 3 (kinda short and easy)
>Chiki Chiki Boys
>New Adventure Island
>Wonder Boy III: Dragon Trap (60 fps port of master system version with saving)
>Aoi Blink (Wonder Boy meets Mario World)
>Legend of Hero Tonma
>Liquid Kids
>Parasol Stars: Bubble Bobble III (10/10 game)
>SonSon II (Capcom exclusive, Black Tiger sequel with Mega Man music)
>Jigoku Meguri
>Momotaro Katsugeki
>Legendary Axe
>Legendary Axe II (use sword for final level)
>Cadash (more of a sidescroller)
>Genji Tsushin Agedama (nice action game)
>Ninja Gaiden (remake, easier than NES version)\
>Tiger Road (use turbo switches, not great but decent fun)
>Makai Prince Dorabo
The system has a lot more shooters, so I'll just mention a few
>R-Type (impossible though)
>Soldier Blade (10/10)
>Gradius
>Salamander
>Detana Twinbee
>Final Soldier
>Blazing Lazers
>Mr. Heli
>Override
>Magical Chase
>Air Zonk (10/10)
>Coryoon
>Side Arms
>Lords of Thunder (10/10)
>Gate of Thunder
>1943 Kai
>Galaga 88
Some other really good games
>River City Ransom (godly remake)
>Double dragon II
>Kaze Kiri
>Blood Gear
>Ys IV
>Shinobi
>Neutopia II (if you can get past the hit detection and crappy block puzzles, it's pretty fun)
>Dungeon Explorer
>Dungeon Explorer II
>>2925697
>People who buy a Turbografx will want a CD system at some point
Why's that?
>>2925718
Because most of the worthwhile TG16/PCE games were on CD-ROM.

I was thinking of old things and for reasons I'm not sure of I suddenly remembered this was something:

The game itself was/is a pretty big disappointment but, damn if that trailer didn't hype into trying to convince my father to get me a copy for the christmas of that year.thank god he got me Tie Fighter instead
I used to watch this trailer on my Daggerfall CD all the time. Sadly never got to play it though. The 3D blew my fragile mind.

Just picked up a copy of gokujyou parodiusu. Anyone play the Parodiusu series before? What do you think of it?
>>2924393
My favorite shooter series! A must have for the Saturn!
>>2924435
I also had to grab this one for the Super Famicom as well! Great fun!
I played Parodius Da! on a PC Engine emulator and might get them for my Saturn if I can't find a reasonably priced PC Engine and copy of the game.
Who is your favorite female retro video game protagonist?
No Samus or Lara Croft, they're too obvious.

Velasquez from Traffic Dept 2192. This bitch is foul mouthed, violent, bitter, and lets nothing stand in her way. Her vagina probably has teeth. This game's dialog is hilarious.

Yes, I got a letter I wrote featured on it in 2002.
Is this Ceefax? I never thought I'd see this considered as a game.

Aertel in Ireland lol. You could play simple interactive games on it like video poker or quizes.... but that involved dialing a premium hotline. I'm still not sure how it worked because it confused me a lot as a child.
I was a Nintendo 64 kid and I missed out on the original PlayStation's library, so I've been trying to get caught up. How is Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver? I've heard it described as a more mature Ocarina of Time, and from videos of it, it seems like God of War before God of War was a thing.
It's nothing like God of War. Something like Darksiders is closer.
Great game, but I don't know if it aged well.
soul reaver is not even close to god of war, but check this bitch out

>it seems like God of War before God of War was a thing
That's not too far off actually (assuming you mean "puzzle game masquerading as an action game"), though Soul Reaver's story is miles ahead of GoW's garbage.
