My wife played video games for the first time when we got a Retron5.

It was an amazing experience but watching her 16 year old son play retro games for the first time and call them aged shit was even better.

I have a friend who is generally awful at platformers - including Mario (He frienquently has to bubble in New SMB) so watching him play it is LIKE watching someone play it for the first time.

The World is Not Enough N64 is arguably the best. Poorly coded game, but so much ambition and a real sense of Bond atmosphere. It is very similar to Nightfire.

Point taken. I meant more in general, very broad terms. It's not uncommon for RPGs to have more or less half-baked puzzles out of battle. But even then, the fact remains: if you want a puzzle game, play one, if puzzles are so important to you. Isn't an RPG's main "hook" supposed to be its battle system?

Super Everdrive China Version for $60 off of aliexpress. It doesn't play any of the special chip games, but there's only a handful of those worth getting anyways.

My SNES broke a few years ago, it was literally just when TBBT became popular and old consoles got expensive as fuck.

I try to keep it under 10 but I'm willing to pay 15 or more if it something I reaaaaaaaally want.

The one outlier is Megaman X2 for $75 a couple weeks ago, it was the last X game I didn't have and the rest I got around the times they were released, either as gifts or for real cheap.

I only paid that much because I know the majority of them are over $100

if you're willing to get a columous piece of plastic to store 4mbytes of data that could be stored in a sdcard without losing any functionality, i guess it is a collector thing huh
