How many hours did you spend killing these things /vr/?
Also fuck you captcha I want pancakes now
>>3084821
Heh. Yeah, I did this too. What you are supposed to do is not go there. The game thows those enemies at you at that exit so you see how strong they are, then run away.
Instead I spent a while grinding.
None. I figured out the way that the game rewards stat ups around halfway through and I've never been able to get over my perfectionism enough to finish it since.
I don't even need to play it that way, it's not even a hard game, I just can't seem to deal.
>>3084986
>Not grinding no matter the difficulty.
Not gonna make it.
>grew up playing N64 and PS1
>have semi-regular dreams set in fifth-gen 3D environments
Anyone else know this feel?
>>3084290
I had one of those hyper realistic fever dreams after pulling off a three day marathon of gauntlet to 100% on n64.
>finally sit down one uneventful friday after school
>Invite some friends over to fill in the three empty controllers
>It's evening and we had forgotten to buy snacks so they go home
>I stay playing all night seeking out every gem and secret in each level
>Realize it's 7am on Saturday so I go out to the grocery store and buy a ton of snacks because I am not gonna stop until I finish it
>get it all done by Sunday morning
>feel awful as hell from binging on a mixture of different kinds of chips mixed in a bucket and dr. Pepper
>Drink two bottles of water back to back hoping it would help to no avail
>Go to sleep
I was propably half awake trying to get up or something but all of a sudden my sheets were the level with the graphics from the game and scary shit was coming out of the caves my mind projected onto the sheets. Then I hallucinated my friends asking me if I was ok in a weird english that made perfect sense but I couldn't actually say it myself. There was a part in my dream where my character had to press certain buttons or else he would puke, then I failed and puked in real life. Scary stuff.

How old were you
>>3084503
Probably 12 or 13.
Still the greatest Street Fighter game of all time.
Alpha 3 can't be the best because "it's broken" but why does that have to be criteria? Can't it just be fun?
I prefer Alpha 2
>implying
mmm
this is cool
you're too slow
haha funny joke
get it jam
Hey guys, I'm going to start a new ps1 JRPG today. Any suggestions on what to play next? Last 1 I played was Star Ocean Second Story and absolutely loved it. I'll list the ones in my collection I haven't played yet. Parasite Eve 1 and 2, Chrono Cross, Legend of Dragoon, FF VIII, FF IX, Xenogears, Lunar 1 and 2, Breath of Fire IV. Thanks for any suggestions.
Valkyrie Profile should be high on your list. It's easily in the list of top RPGs on the system.
>>3082859
Shadow Madness is the most underrated JRPG on the PS1 (yes, it's a JRPG despite beign American). It's not as good as SO2, but better than most of your list.
>>3082859
Earthbound is a must-play for any JRPG fan.
Anyone want to talk about the darius series?
Which is your favorite game of the series and which is your favorite ship?
Best graphics, best music, best gameplay, best bosses.
CLOSE
>>3082779
Love the ship designs, but Gaiden is the only game in the series I've played. Looks neat, but it was just another shmup. They all feel the same to me.
I have a Sega megadrive 2 that isn't working g great. I replaced all the cables for it but there is still a lot of noise and static (despite being RGB).
Any thoughts on what's wrong with it?
>>3082350
Looks like your sync cable isn't working anon
>>3082368
It does the same thing with an RCA composite cable as it does with the RGB. The games work and the picture appears but there is always a lot of noise over the images.
>>3082380
Are you just using a scart cable for rgb? Maybe the composite video signal is stuffed? It's used for both sync with rgb and composite video. Maybe caps or the frequency crystal?
I've had my PS1 for... 16 years now, I think, maybe more? I don't remember, but it's the model with the screen, as in the picture.
I didn't play it for a year, maybe 2, but I felt like buying a CD and burning Spyro 3 and Klonoa to play it on it (the PS1 has a modchip).
... So...
It doesnt read my burns (It reads Spyro 3 sometimes)
All my burned discs of yore cant be read well or freeze at some point, with the exception of Mega Man X4, which works, but the sound stream is iffy, the music stops for 1 or 2 seconds at random. Ditto with FMVs.
The problem I described with my X4 happens with my original copy of Spyro the Dragon as well.
... However, my copy of MGS (From the Essential Collection), works perfectly, once I get it to boot. It's in mint condition, the disc.
So... Is my reader dying? Any fix? Any recomendation?

Do the high resolution modes cause unpleasant interlace flicker or does the N64's natural astigmatism filter neutralize it?
Is this thing worth getting outside of the 3 games that it's mandatory for? (Donkey Kong, Majora's Mask, and Perfect Dark)
>>3082131
expansion pack only affects the games you mentioned
>Is this thing worth getting outside of the 3 games that it's mandatory for?
No
You fuckers need Soa
>>3081427
I agree
>>3081427
Legend of Dragoon was fun most of the way through but fuck if the story wasn't pants on head retarded.
>>3081427
>Soa
Sons of anarchy?
is Dark Savior a good successor to Landstalker?
What in the fuck is happening here
>>3080879
i am also curious. is she connected to a chain to the ceiling or is the sprite just cut? Is she about to be chucked at the boney horse with an alien knight?
Timestalkers > Landstalker > Dark Savior
ITT epic retro cities. just got here and it kind of blew my mind again.
Bigger than anything in skyrim...
I always liked how the boss for this area sort of forced you to run a full dragoon party. This game was good and trying to get you to change team composition often
>>3080853
definitely love that as well, though i sort of dread endgame where its foolish not to use all ninjas/sages.
the midgit portions are strange too. i like them, but its odd when a game forces you to run away from everything for a span. i guess they want you to use thief and revel in his midgame buff.
What are thoughts on this game? I never see it talked about
>>3079921
Looks hideous, pallets are inconsistent, bosses are won by spamming rapidfire in their general direction. A complete newbie could level select to the final boss and stomp him.
The sprites are far too large, the actual game screen loses what little real-estate it has to the hud on the bottom.
At the time pre-rendered was a big deal but ultimately the game is dull.
>>3079932
Did Vectorman run over your dog in his pickup when you were a child?
>>3079938
Yes.
In truth I just did not like a single thing about the game, and I love platformers.
Did I order the wrong rhea?
Damn I'm an idiot
My rhea has four pins for the power supply but when I took open my Japanese Saturn it had five holes for the power supply
For the power supply

Bro, vacuum.
Did you not read the guide at all?
This is why that guy's blog is almost all bitching about customers.
All it needs is 5v and ground. The pcb is set up so you can add a connector if you'd like.
jesus christ motherfucker CLEAN YOUR GODDAMN FLOORS
There was a period in the 16 bit era where there were a slew of very anime inspired action games. Most of these weren't tied to a license, but captured the same feeling of those late 80s/early 90s OVAs.
Majyuuoh is one of them. Some people compare it to Resident Evil, but it reminds me more of Devilman. It's primarily a boss rush game with a few short stages between them, a lot of big setpeices (a stage where you're chased by a worm, a scene where a woman is beaten to death by horses, etc) and some little touches, like the ability to kill and eat fairies.
I'm going to post some other games kind of like this.
Valis is probably the most anime of anime game franchises.
