Bump with pictures
Nice anon, i'd show you mine but it's in a corner with a bunch of stuff on top of it.
Only one choice if you're not going to hook it up to a CRT - XRGB mini

Walk'n Punchers.
This is more out of curiosity but do you guys think cartridge based games are still gonna be playable 20 years from now?
Im mainly thinking of old Gameboy games or SNES games
>>3185712
I'd assume they are much more likely to work than disc based games.
>>3185712
Just take care of them - use dust covers and clean them occasionally, and they'll continue to work just fine. The only thing you really need to worry about is the battery dying, and that's an easy enough fix.

and metal/cap corrosion
and the chips getting fucked up through a routine shock of electricity
they'll last as long as you can replace the components on the boards/you don't let corrosion take over.
Can we get a Ghosts and Goblins thread goin?
Pretty sure there's more important things in the world to talk about right now you ignorant cuck
Does anyone know of a sure-fire way of killing son of Satan? His dives seem very unpredictable.

What do you want to talk about?tfw finally got a white arremer to appear
Just bought this CD-I 450 for 3€.
It came with the a/c adapter, DVC and the game 7th Guest.
So what is the best controller for this thing? Are there even 3rd party controllers? I can't find any on ebay.
Any worthwhile games?
Get a Genesis pad and an adaptor.
In terms of good games: The Apprentice, Tetris, and Hotel Mario (yeah the cutscenes are terrible but the game is fine).
Unfortunately a decent gamepad is extremely hard to come by. There's one that's pretty similar to a 3DO pad and one that's exactly like a classic Gravis gamepad. When either one pops up it goes for $50 or more.
The other option is the straight up terrible paddle controller that was the standard "remote" for the thing. I've pretty much decided I'm going to have to buy one of these and mod it into an arcade stick of I ever get the time to play my CDi that I bought in a similar situation to yours.

Please let us know where we can get the Genesis adaptor.
How do you use permanent stat increasing items? Do you boost someone who has a weak stat or give it to someone who has a strong stat? I can never decide so I end up hoarding them.
I normally give it to somebody with the strong stat. Usually if somebody has a weak stat I'm probably not using that stat much anyway, so I might as well boost the character who does use it. The exception would be health. Everybody could do with more health.
Give it to the one that can use it the most. No point in raising a stat that has no use. Obviously there are factors to consider like how long you have a party member, how much is left until you reach a maximum or whether the raise gets undone by a class change.

I always give it to the person that could benefit most from it. If I have a potion that increases Strength, I'm going to give it to my Warrior. That seems like a no brainer.
It's the others, like a Health Increase, that become more of a puzzle. If I notice one of my characters is significantly lower than the rest more often, then I'll probably give it to them.
Most of the time, when you find these kind of items they're a sort of hidden thing, anyway. So it really doesn't go to waste, as long as someone uses it.
Why do people like Super Shinobi II more than this game?
because casuals and muh controls
It was more accessible than Super Shinobi, and the last stages weren't that tight in the jumps. And that labyrinth in the very last stage would drive you insane in the first playthroughs. I honestly love both of them.
>>3181551
>tfw the newest Shinobi was outsourced garbage and there will never be a true Super Shinobi III
Do you prefer the electro-metallic style of FM synth, the beeps and bloops of PSG, or the realistic samples of PCM, /vr/?

Care to elaborate? I just want to discuss retro sound technology used for games.

your prior thread got deleted did it not?
Why was Doom II worse that 1/ultimate?

Some gimmicky maps. The city maps just weren't good because of limitations.
the difficulty was just too fucking ridiculous sometimes
The SSG made things WAY too easy, even on higher difficulties.
What were your favorite parts of this game?
The feeling I get when I think back on it is just how great the world building was. I miss it a lot and I'm considering replaying it. Even with how dated it was, there's something I love so much about that OOT and MM aesthetic, the graphics are really dated but there's something so charming about it that warms my cynical heart.
I only played it for the first time 2 years ago, but it really stuck with me.

Clock Town > Ikana > Swamp > Ranch > Great Bay > Snowhead

It was so satisfying to help the people of Snowhead though.
>Favorite transformations
Zora > Goron > Deku
Design wise the deku one is definitely the best, and I think it's a brilliant beginning to the game by being withholding with the protagonists turning the player into a sad little deku scrub. I also love the running animation and the little sound it makes.
Zora on the other hand made The Great Bay my favorite part of the whole game. I know some find it a grind to collect the eggs, but the mask contributes the most in terms of gameplay switch-up by far, making Majoras Mask probably the only game with actual fun swimming mechanics, best part about it is it's actually aged well too. The temple was fantastic too, and so was the boss. I've never really heard much from fans of this game in terms of what people think of The Great Bay Temple, but I loved the shit out of it.
Garage sale/Flea Market/Thrift store pickups/hauls.
Post em here, because it's that's time of year!
Sun is shining, people putting up signs, and mothers getting rid of their sons video games.
Went to a local thrift where I rarely find games and say a fucked up Dreamcast for $5 along with an assortment of controllers.
Ended up finding a bunch of NES/SNES/N64/Genesis games. Many of them were beat up, sport games, or games I already owned, but ended up with pic related for $6.
I've definitely had better days, but it's nice getting decent games for cheap.
found this last weekend. I don't know if I should sell it for more retro or sit on it and see if the value appreciates.
I hadn't had a decent retro find in months until a couple of weeks ago when I scored this lot for $20. Maybe I'll get lucky at the flea market again tomorrow.
Found an import of Chocobo's Dungeon 2 with a handwritten note inside for progressions, can't read any of the kanji but got it for $10
I haven't seen the pinball thread here for awhile.
This is the lineup at my local arcade
>Creature from the Black Lagoon
>Iron Man
>Funhouse
>Theater of Magic
>Whirlwind
>Pinbot
>The Walking Dead
>Star Trek: The Next Generation
Creature and Trek were just added yesterday, and Creature is probably my favorite 90s pinball. What's yours?
>>3111373
Ghostbusters looks like it's going to be a pretty rockin' 90s pinball. Trudeau game like Judge Dredd. Actual interactive toys and a subway. Hand-drawn art.
EXTERMINATE THE DOCTOR
>>3111398
Hard to be the best pinball of the '90s when you've got lightning flippers.
I wasn't sure exactly what it was that turned me off of old RPGs at first, but then after playing Dragon Quest 1 and finishing it vs playing Dragon Quest 3 and burning out I realized.
I fucking HATE fighting more than 1 enemy at a time.
Multiple enemies becomes a fucking slog. 1 enemy is the perfect number.
What are other RPGs that only have 1 enemy at a time besides DQ1?
Granstream Saga nigga
Hybrid Heaven
Ain't Thousand Arms like that? Haven't actually gotten very far on it, not sure.
>>3192785
do you happen to know of anything on NES/SNES or anything from that era? Handheld is also fine.
Let's discuss Squaresoft games other than Final Fantasy. Nothing against FF, but FF threads are a dime a dozen.
I just beat pic related last night and liked it quite a bit, though I thought the battle system could have used some work. How does the sequel compare?
Xenogears was Squaresoft IIRC. Xenogears was good, second disc a bit less maybe but still good.
>>3192585
>How does the sequel compare?
Basically it's a completely different game, which is the way sequels should be.
The sequel is almost completely different. You know, the way sequels used to be.
What are some good 4-person N64 games?
Having some people over and I figured we could play N64 games (or PS2 or whatever, really) instead of just drinking and watching netflix until we get bored and disband.
Mario Kart and Mario Party have already been vetoed.
