Sonic the hedgehog game gear
Well looks like most of the Sega 3D classics games are on sale in 3DS eshop
I mean I already have them, and the Classics Collection, and the Steam collection, and Sonic's Genesis Collection, and a bunch of ROMs off the internet, and the original Genesis carts when available
I just wanted an excuse to make a thread, you guys like Space Harrier and OutRun right?

>you guys like Space Harrier and OutRun right?
You bet your ass I do, Out Run is my favorite video game of all time.
Here's a list of Sega sprite-scaling games that aren't part of the 3D classics line, and can be played on MAME.
>Hang-On
>Enduro Racer
>Turbo Out Run
>AB Cop
>GP Rider
>Last Survivor
>Line of Fire
>Racing Hero
>Super Monaco GP
>G-LOC
>Rail Chase
>Strike Fighter
>Laser Ghost
>Air Rescue
>Alien 3: The Gun
>F1 Exhaust Note
>F1 Super Lap
>Jurassic Park
>Out Runners
>Stadium Cross
>Cool Riders
There's also Rad Mobile and Rad Rally, but they will require a wheel, regular analog controllers don't work.
Thanks, OP.
I'm really glad Sega Ages made so many good arcade ports on the Saturn. You don't even have to like Saturn games to like a Saturn, because it's a perfectly good Arcade player in its own right.
Have you played the closest retro videogame to Dark Souls yet, /vr/?
>tfw no dreamcast
God I want to. I want to play all the DC games.
>>3297176
I thought the creator of Dark Souls said he was inspired by the Kings Field series?
>>3297184
Only in theme. The KF games play nothing like Dark Souls.
Anyone can help me?, i need the name of this platform, you can play all the games of SNK
Didn't read, don't care, Neo Geo.
fightcade
>>3296795
it's called picking up a book you infraction
ITT: we remind /vr/ of scary moments in non-horror retro games
>>3294216
The Atlantean levels in TR1 still spook me today.
>that silence
>those living walls
Good stuff.
>>3294216
I hope you know the craziest secret of the game is down there
>>3296024
Can confirm. He's not kidding.
Post games you enjoy that are considered to be shit by the majority of gamers. If you post games that the majority of gamers like in an attempt to be contrarian, you are acknowledging that you are an edgy faggot who can't read.
I really like the Cruisin' series, both in arcades and on N64. I can see why they are hated and my love for them is probably mostly nostalgia but I find myself booting one of them up once a month or so.
I also really enjoy Stunt Race FX. I can look past the low framerate and graphical glitches and enjoy the game for what it is. I also love the personality all the cars have.
>>3287441
The girl who shakes her titties at you at the end of each race is the best part of the game.
ITT: Stuff in retro games that they could get away with at the time they couldn't get away with today.
Releasing a complete game.
>>3252974
I never understood why they couldn't have just made that intro random, and you never know who's going down.
Couldn't have been a rom space issue, there's a ton of unused crap in there so they could have easily fit in a sprite of the white guy going down.
>FF6
>scene in the original where the guard is beating up Celes
>cut from all rereleases
Bring your repair/mod discussions and technical questions here. What are you working on?
Don't forget to add your knowledge to the wiki!

Many common problems can be remedied by cleaning the console, games, or controllers. Check out the cleaning guide before trying anything too drastic:

Anyone got any idea on repairing broken cartridges. Pic related.
Got it for a quid since it wasn't working, figured it probably needed cleaning or something but after going at it with some alcohol and a cotton bud I had no luck, opened it up, pins are a bit worn but nothing I'd expect to stop it working, gave them a go over with some rubber and then another go with alcohol, still no luck. The board itself seems fine, no obvious broken connections or dry joints, capacitor doesn't seem to be leaking.
Any ideas or just give up on it? it's not an expensive or even particularly great game, but it would be nice to get it working.

other side
I posted this in a another thread but it should go here. This is more of a curiosity question:
What were the blue/yellow/green jumper wires for? Was it a last minute change to the board that didnt make it to the PCB? Anyone with genesis knowledge know?
>ctrl+f
>no recent purchase threads
Let's change that.
$39.00 flat for this Super Nintendo and all original hook-ups.
$15 shipped
Good deal on the ws
47 britbucks all in
MD2 is a VA1.8 but that's ok as I have two VA4s already and only really wanted the six button pads.
All the hardware is pretty much mint condition following a quick dusting.
Hi,
Sega megadrive game did not work arter cleaning it. So i opened it.
Is that "wavy" darker green something to worry about? Moisture got into circuit board?
This side looks okay although the pins don't look particularly clean. Need some micro abrasion with like a fiberglass pen. Show the back.
>>3309280
How about circling the "wavy green" you autistic ass nigga
use brasso and some good solid scrubbing on both sides, followed by 90+% isopropyl alcohol. If you get the pins shiny and pristine, and it still does t run, give the system slot a good solid cleaning with contact cleaner/alcohol, maybe fine sandpaper if you suspect corrosion. Also test it in another known working system (a clone/emulator like a retron system is acceptable to test the livelihood of a cartridge)
If all these fail it's probably a dead rom chip. It's rare but it happens
What's the best NES game?
http://poal.me/rqpv1d
(Not counting Tetris.)
>>3308910
>he likes the NES
>>3308917
Uh... yeah? This IS the retro gaming board, after all. Most people here like the NES.
>>3308923
You must be new here. We all hate the Nintendo and only approve of European microcomputers and Sega hardware.
Can anyone recommend some good Metroidvania style games? General Metroidvania thread. Old or new, doesn't matter. I know people are talking about newer ones but i'm not sure if any projects were completed yet.
Pic unrelated, sorry just making sure i'm not crazy.
Wario Land 3 did it before it was cool

Cave Story
I'm confused, is this video saying the genesis audio actually sounds this good with a mod, or that it COULD sound this good if the chip was used to it potential?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKsUAywSyEg
>>3308008
the video is promoting some homebrew WAV player for the genesis made by TmEE
i might be wrong, that's just what i'm taking from it
>>3308008
That video is retarded. First of all you'd need CD-tier storage to play music like that and still have space for the game, so might as well use the appropriate add-on, since the 32X still uses carts and the gain in digital audio was the number of available hardware channels.
>>3308165
or have a Sega CD
:^)

Surprised there's not a thread about this already. Anybody play it yet?
ooooooooh.
There was a thread a while back, it died due to a lack of interest.
Has DC emulation improved within the last few years?
Name one (1) decent game on this platform.
You can't.
So post platforms similar to this but with an actually good library.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Dungeon Keeper is pretty good.
Duke Nukem 3D also
DOS games got pretty good around the mid 90's, post-DOOM, really. It was only the 80s where it was just terrible arcade conversions and D&D for people so autistic they don't even have friends to play D&D with.
>>3307457
>and D&D for people so autistic they don't even have friends to play D&D with.
lol.
