>>3313597

>hurr durr help me rip off someone on eBay
Fuck off, reseller scum.
What are some retro games that featured visual equipment upgrades? e.g. As soon as you picked up a sword or a shield, your character's sprite would update.
mario
Fatal Labyrinth
Athena.

Playing this and finding very good. Anything I need to know before advance through the game? As missables, secrets and stuff.
And recommend similar games too, please. Got really interested in the genre, now which I bought a PSP.
>>3312058
Yes there are missable things but the key "feature" of this game is replaying the multiple endings. I had the guide book as a kid cant find that now.
You will need to use a guide for this game and will develop ocd like most tactical rpgs. Some of the later battles are extremely hard if you dont level up your stats correctly.
I still need to finish the game actually myself. Also you will either hate or love the WD "jokes".
>>3312058
Is this basically Escaflowne: The Tactical RPG?
Why have I not played this?
Zelda II Thread, discuss.

What are the most interesting games for the X68000? Bonus points for titles with good soundtracks.
>>3307878
The Nemesis III and Castlevania remakes.
Castlevania and Geograph Seal
Thunder Force II on the x68000 is superior to Thunder Force IV and III, seriously, god fucking tier music and graphics.
Tifa or AERIS
Neither. Yuffie is best.
Tifa. Nice rack, good personality, puts out.

Tell me about your /vr/ waifu (or husbando or just favorite character).
Why are they your favorite? Would you recommend their game?
Sorry OP my waifu's too modern. But here's Fio. I like her because she's cute and italian. No other real reason really.
I would recommend Metal Slugs 1 through 3 for 1cc escapades and at least one playthrough on 4 through 6... I don't think 6 is running on old enough hardware for it to be retro though, but I'm far too lazy to go look it up.

When did PC gaming become better than console gaming? Obviously PC gaming was better than console gaming before 1983, but after the Famicom I don't think PC gaming really got better until 1987. I believe PC gaming has been the superior choice since 1987. What do you think?
>>3300868
Europe: around 1984
America: not till 1994
>>3300878
Why was America so far behind? Commodore and Atari were both American companies. Did they just like shit like Apple or something?
>>3300880
Because us Americans were stupid and preferred console gaming over computers. I hate to say it, but Europe had us beat when it came to making games.
What's the best retro Sailor Moon game?
>>3296865
The Mega Drive beat em up.
And congrats on posting a picture of superior PGSM.
>>3296875
The SFC version of the beat 'em up has more levels doesn't it? Anyway I also grew up with the MD version and I love it. Pretty comfy game.
However, I think the actual best SM game I played was the SuperS fighting game on SFC.
I still haven't played Another Story though.
going through my old shit and found a few sought after SNES games (one of which is pic related). whats the etiquette for selling these? should i change the batteries, or do people prefer all original parts (game still saves, but fuck me, its from 1993 how much longer will it work for)
i'll buy that for a dollar
>>3316997
how about $669.99 in tatty condition, or over $3000 sealed?
>>3317007
dear christ...i actually got on ebay to check what this game goes for...op...don't change the battery...just enjoy swimming around in all you future money scrooge mcduck style
Why do people who don't live in Japan or speak a word of Japanese download Japanese roms? It's way too common. Is there an advantage to playing the Jap version of a game?
Because moonrunes are so mysterious
Speedrunners do it because the dialog boxes go by faster
Others do it either because there is no english version of the game and they would very much still like to play it
OR they know japanese.
the only times i play a japanese version of a game is when im emulating arcade games, because they tend to fuck with the difficulty for the other regions
