If this was any other show Amour would be a canon end-game ship. But knowing the cycle of the show and how female characters don't last past their generation, its hard to think of another outcome.

I mean Ash might still be around 10 years from now! If they intend on keeping Ash around for another decade then of course Serena isn't going to be there. I shudder the thought of Ash being around for 30 years.

Well keep shuddering. The people behind the show are fearful (which is somewhat justified) that changing the protagonist would damage the show and by extension the brand. The Ash & Pikachu show will likely end when the anime is terminated. Damn shame cause I think that a hard reboot with a new MC + new Pikachu (because mandatory shilling, whatever) could do some good.

Am I the only one who thinks Ash will be wrapped up in the 20th anniversary of the anime in 2017? I feel like this entire saga is endgame.
