ToTT: What lesser used Pokemon having you been using with great success? Why that one?
>>
ToTT: I've used a few niche picks but my favorite one as of this moment has to be safety goggles scizor. I might sound weird as hell at first but it allows you to punish amoonguss+most partners like gardivoir or kangaskhan by setting up swords dance and hitting hard with bullet punch. Also having a pokemon that doesn't instantly die to kangaskhan is incredibly good.
>>
ToTT: Sableye for sure. Really underrated, priority WoWs shut down any physical attacker.

ToTT: Mixed Greninja.

Scarf Lando is less common now, so a mixed Narutoad with Ice Beam, Gunk Shot and Low Kick gets super effective coverage against lots of goodstuffs teams.

Besides, the rise of Defiant Thundy and Sheer Force Lando-I in battle spot makes it easier to snipe stuff.
>>
>>24580338
a lot of bad players make it in from random tiny countries like south africa or wherever. and a lot of players who aren't necessarily shit-tier but probably don't belong on the world stage make it in even in places like the U.S. you see it every year, dudes who do well at the regional/national level then get BTFO at worlds, read: pretty much every nigger bridge user kek

Really? I'm new to VGC but it's my understanding that they already started the VGC '16 series. Is there still a chance they will change the format? I'd be so stoaked.
>>
>>24592949
Yeah the first few regionals of the season are played in the old format. We don't know that they'll actually change the format, but they usually do around december.

I just hope they won't allow non-pentagon. ;~;
>>
So Safety Goggles CM Cress is a trend now? I just faced it twice in a row, they were all Rocky Helmet last time I laddered

>>
I never learned how to look at speed tiers; it looks so fucking cluttered and confusing. How much speed EVs do you guys think I can take off an AV Adamant Lando without getting outsped by treats? I kinda want a bit more bulk, but I don't want to reduce its power.
>>
>>24592949
yeah, there was already a run of regionals in october but between then and december there's not much. personally I'd be surprised if they changed the ruleset but anything's possible

sidenote: did you pick up your sludge bomb zoroark mystery gift? it's level 50, use it at your local regional :)
>>
>>24593401
Kee Berry is another one to look out for. SG was never too uncommon though.
Toxic Aegislash on BS is a total god against CM Cress + Kang.

>>24593412
Depends on what you want to outpseed, you could drop to 135 and still be faster than positive base 70s (Breloom). I wouldn't go slower than this personally, but I only have experience using Jolly AV Lando-T with the extra bulk coming out of attack, the damage is still good.
>>
>>24584561
Wolfe.
>>
>>24593412
Just take note of the most important Pokemon and decide if it's important for something to outspeed it or not. There are some significant milestones though which I'd say are 106, 122, 135, 140, 152, 170 and then all the sanic stuff

It's the second most popular mega (Kang obviously number 1) in UK PC Top Cuts. Mostly thanks to two players having pretty consitent results.
It also had two 5-2 finishes at worlds.
I think it's really good especially when paired with Aegi (to handle Cress/Gardevoir) and Intimidators to keep Kang at bay.

Mega Ampharos DW.png

Tell me your toughts about Mega Ampharos.

It has a unique typing and can hit 99% of everything for at least neutral damage (give it HP Fire and Ferrothorn is not a problem anymore). Has the same special attack of Mega Garde but lacks a super stronk spread move to spam.

It's quite slow but still above TR common mons, but yeah TR helps it a lot. It has 90/105/110 bulk and 4 weaknesses (Dragon is uncommon, Ice is indeed everywhere and so are Fairy and Ground, these last two are mostly spread moves though) but also gains many resistances (most notable Flying and Fire). Depending on how you play it you can delay going mega to avoid certain moves from one-shotting it and turning things around (think Ice Beams and the like).

It's very limited in movepool and Mold Breaker isn't useful 100% of the time but at least you don't have to worry about Lightningrod or any other ability for that matter.

The biggests threats to it are Earthquake and Fairy Hyper Voice spam (also Kang but who doesnt have problems with that cunt) but it fares great against CharY and MegaMence (beware of Draco Meteors otherwise you win most of the time) and depending on how you play it also Rain.

It's a great bulky special attacker that is sure to put a dent on you opponents team most of the time. Maybe not a centerpiece for a team but it's not as bad as you might think.
>>
>>24597058
Surely 167 (one point faster than M-Kangaskhan, Charizard, Zapdos, Entei, M-Gardevoir, Salamence Volcarona) is more notable than 170 (One point faster than Garchomp)?
>>
>>24614292
Literally every time I've played against Mega Ampharos it's been absolutely useless. It shouldn't be that much worse than Abomasnow, Camerupt and Slowbro, but it seems to only be used by idiots who can never even set trick room up successfully.
>>
>>24614292
its bad. don't handicap yourself by using it
>>24613207
gengar is decent. but sash gengar is only really popular in like, Germany. it is versatile, it was WoW for mega kangaskhan, icy wind for salamence, sludge bomb for mega gardevoir. but when I use it I prefer a simple set of sludge bomb/shadow ball/wow/protect, you can catch a lot of people trying to cheeky fake out your gengar turn 1. goggles gengar is fun. it also gets taunt, disable, destiny bond.
>>
>>24614292
it severely lacks the standard of power set by other megas, 90bp moves aren't good enough
>>
>>24614292
I wish it had a better ability.
>>
>>24614292
Electric terrain is a cool move to use in the 3rd slot. Prevents sleep spam (amoonguss) against you in TR and gives you the 50% boost to TBolt.

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Blaze/Jolly
244 HP / 108 Atk / 40 Def/ 108 Spe
-Flare Blitz
-Will-o-Wisp
-Roost
-Protect

108 Speed EVs outspeed max speed M-Gyarados, Adamant Assault Vest Landorus-T, and max speed Kangaskhan before it goes Mega.

108 Atk EVs 1HKO's 252 HP Aegislash while in Shield Form, 4 HP Thundurus, and ALL Amoonguss %100 of the time. Has a good chance to 1HKO specially defensive Thundurus. 1HKO's M-Kangaskhan after Double-Edge recoil.

252 HP and the remaining EVs dumped into Def for bulk allow it to survive just about anythting, especially after an Intimidate. Add in Burn Atk reduction from W-o-W and chip damage and you have a moderately fast, bulky, offensive powerhouse with the ability to rest HP.

Support it with Intimidate, I run Scrafty AND Labdorus, as did Wolfe Glick in Worlds 201t. He placed 12th and his team stuck out like a sore thumb. I believe this is the set he used, if not very close to it. He also ran specially defensive Pomemon such as Zapdos and Milotic to support Zard-X.

A team as such does INCREDIBLY well vs. CHALK and cripples any teams with an emphasis on physically offensive attackers. Can deal with other threats moderately well. I've been running this team with Aegislash on Showdown an peaked around 1400, amd I'm Not Great.

What are your thoughts?
>>
>>24615161
252 HP *
>>
>>24615161
I just go full zerg with 252 atk / 252 speed / 4 def
Flare Blitz, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance and Protect.
Though I should probably move the EVs, but it's fun to one shot a lot of things with Flare Blitz +1.
>>
>>24615161
I used 172 HP / 20 Atk / 92 Def / 108 SpDef / 116 Speed with Careful Nature.
Protect / Flare Blitz / Will-O-Wisp / Roost
The speed it's to screw Breloom and I forgot the rest, it worked but I liked Azumarill+Amoonguss more, and sent CharX to the thrash as it didn't net me any good result.

Also, I made Top 8 in the PC of my country after a 6-0 in swiss but lost to a stupid Rock Slide Hawlucha that flinched me three times in a row. Ironically enough it flinched three times my Landorus.
Thoughts?
>>
>>24615161
Do you have any replays?
>>
>>24616470
I've been at work all weekend, I'll get some and post tomorrow.
>>
>>24616260
I feel like thats a more bulky, specially defensive variant. You're honestly probably a much better player than I am, and I haven't been to any events, but I respect Wolfe as a player and I think he found a good way to make it playable which is why I used his Worlds team.

The strategy I use each match is to identify their big threats and if they are mostly special or physical. Physical, I bring CharX and Scrafty or Lando. If they don't have a Bisharp or Milotic and are full of physical threats I'll bring both.

If they are specially offensive, I bring Zapdos and Scrafty for sure. I've given my Scrafty Assault Vest and Snarl over Protect.

Weather, I've found, gives me the most trouble. Zapdos and Scrafty help in rain and Scrafty does well in sand.

Scrafty and Milo work well under Trick Room but I can typically cripple their big hitters anyway.
