And BW2 beign better than BW is a perfect example that a game can have good story and try to be unique (by forcing the new mons down the player's throat in this case) but the game with shit story but awesome postgame will be praised more.
Just look at the considered god tier mainline games like emerald,platinum,hgss,bw2 and gsc to an extend they all share one thing and that is postgame.
