Someone voted for Tepig, didnt he
you thought you were smart enough to make a good thread
Nothing, at least when it was made.
You should be asking that about Feraligatr, who suffers from his highest stat not matching his STAB, or Ice Beam, or Bite. You have to use Return or Earthquake if you want to make use of its Attack.
Typhlosion lucks out with Flamethrower and Thunderpunch (but that's all it gets), and Meganium can effectively use Razor Leaf, Body Slam, and Earthquake, as well as raise screens and heal.
So, Popplio is my favorite...
Fuck me right?
Senpai I don't want to fuck you...
I don't give a shit. They all look decent.
I can respect Popplio because at least it has a theme going on that meshes very well. The other two may look better, but currently they're just elemental animals.

Water is my favorite type, but I find most water starters really ugly, so I usually go for grass.

If Mew is the ancestor of all Pokemon, why aren't all Pokemon Psychic types? Checkmate Atheists.
>>26390025
If Mew is the ancestor of all Pokemon, why can't all Pokemon learn Crabhammer? Checkmate Mewtists.
>Implying manipulating fire, water and the elements isn't caused by telekinetic ability
>Implying psychic type isn't just using aura
Why aren't all humans black?
How lit is your litten, anon?
I don't understand the question.

Ten
DUDE
How many of you started playing pokemon after you grew up? I'm wondering how much nostalgia has to do with its popularity and if the series actually brings in new people.
>>26389839
Started playing with gen 6. I'm retired and wanted to play something that didn't require reflexes.
Was actually extremely late to the party, started playing around 2012. I remember the Hoenn anime being on the TV when I was a kid and I just wasn't interested.
>starting playing pokemon at age 3 in 1998
to be honest i can't imagine anyone picking up this series that wasn't born into it
Reminder that if you aren't laddered high on RandBats, you're objectively a shit Pokemon player
90% of people who genuinely play randbats are kids who are too retarded to make or steal someone's team so they compensate by just doing random. Getting to high ladder on a format which is completely random in every aspect is not an accomplishment
>>26389781
not op but 1800+ is high ladder not everyone is a kid who reaches that many points obviously
>>26389781
I beg to differ. Being able to rank high on a format where you have no idea what you or your opponent will bring and being able to successfully use your Pokemon to come out victorious, despite the possibility of your opponent having the better win condition, should prove you are truly skilled at the game. Hence the Grimsley OP
>2016
>still no irl pokemon league tournament

??? Vgc
That'd be a pretty neat idea to set up with friends
>>26389750
>>26389776
Modify TGC rules slightly so no legendaries. Winner of the tournament becomes champion. Have monotype tournaments. Highest ranking 4 become elite 4. They must all be different types and can have at most one off type on their team.
Take 8 more unique mono teams, each from the 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th and 80th percentiles of performance in the tournament.
Rent out a hotel in hawaii for the elite 4 and champion, including themed rooms. Pay for their accommodations. Have the gym leaders scattered throughout Hawaii.
>Battle spot
>Most use the same strong-mons
This really bores me /vp/, so I might go full smogon. I have goofed around OU before, but now want to experiment some more.
Which tier is your favorite and why ?
>>26389501
I play OU. I dabbled in UU, but it just seems like Scarves and bulky Water types.
I don't mind playing against the same set of mons in OU because that consistency lends itself to my teambuilding. I incorporate underseen mons for fun, and like when I have the proper team matchup. I have a team that's made to beat stall for example, so it's a great stress relief pounding them with it.
I tried Battle Spot a little bit, but it's less fun since it comes down to bringing the right thing most of the time (e.g. the pressure a Volcarona or Serperior or Mega Lucario can put on you), discouraging creativity and encouraging catch-all options.
>>26389501
PU, NU, and BL2 are my favorite by far. There's just so much to experiment with.
PU is where it's at
Sun and Moon have a selectable Inverse Mode at the start where the entire game is Inverse Battles, how does the meta change?
>>26389477
Wouldn't that be its own meta
>>26389492
Inverse already is a meta.
The difference here would be, people could actually play it.
>>26389497
But the question is how the meta would change
So not at all
>Skaymin-Sky reverts back to Land Form if it gets frozen
