in diamond and pearl there was a duplication glitch using the GTS, but that was patched out of platinum and HGSS
as far as I know there isn't any other duplication glitches in the gen 4 games, and if there are they most likely are pretty difficult to execute

Easy. Defeat the Elite Four 100 times in a row without saving. Next, talk to Professor Oak 50 times and he'll say, "I'm getting tired of this, <player>. You know what? How'd you like to you my Dimensional Time Capsule?" Then he'll walk over to one of his bookshelves and reveal a hidden staircase to the basement. Follow him down there and he'll let you use a machine that transports you into Gen 1 Oak's Lab. Now, go to Viridian and do the Missingno glitch, making sure you have the Master Ball in the 6th item slot (In entering the dimensional time capsule, all your bags will be condensed into the one item bag of Gen 1, but with unlimited space.).

IMPORTANT: Do not talk to any NPCs except for the Old Man, or else you'll realize you're not supposed to be in their world and you'll be forced back through the dimensional time capsule, unable to use it again.

Once you encounter Missingno. (DO NOT CAPTURE! IT WILL BRICK YOUR GAME INSTANTLY!!!), run from the battle and return to Oak's Lab. Oak will send you back through the dimensional time capsule and back into the regular HGSS game, and you'll find 128 Master Balls in the Ball pocket in your bag.

BW2, Platinum's extra content is overrated, HGSS is mostly fluff, BW2 has PWT which let's you battle past gym leaders, black tower/white treehollow which makes for easy postgame grinding and gets you a shiny when you complete it, and Pokéstar studios, one of the most underrated features.
