For a fully updated 3DS I believe the optimal choice is either CN or OOT3D (you'll need a second 3DS)
As for your request, it'll still be pretty tedious to reinject all your mons with different OTs but it can be done with no problem.
Managing your own name, however, may present a challenge. The 3DS hardware itself cannot edit a save file to that extent as far as I've researched, so you would need a save-altering device, such as a Powersave, to do the trick. The Powersave will probably let you edit your OTs as well so if you're not interested in pirating you may want to look that way instead of jailbreaking.

Not the same anon, but you won't need a second 3DS for either. I've homebrewed my 3DS on the most recent firmware using OoT, powersaves, and an SD card reader. I'll post a guide for it I wrote in just a second (it's too big to fit in this post)

I really don't see most of the GO normies getting into the main games. Theyre too hard for them. Too many types now and all the thinking they have to do is gonna make them drop it on the first gym.

But, besides that, I'm sure GO has also made many people get into the games again and they'll stick with it. They'll be a minority, but still, this is good.

In that they created Volbeat and Illumise, ANOTHER pair of cross-breedable pokemon with fairly similar visuals.

I don't see any particular issue with the Nidos having separate dex entries, given that they have separate BSTs and learn lists; it was just weird that they were the only ones.

But now they're not.

The names (Nido-m and Nido-f) are a little uninspired, but that's all, and that's no worse than Feraligatr or Victreebel.

Also, Protean

The best designs imo, you can tell they chose quality over quantity. Every design is bursting with diversity amd personality as well as being creative. It has the best fossil mon, as well as legendary trio, and the pseudo is refreshing after all the bad ass dragons of previous gens. The starters are also very diverse from one another which is always a good thing, even if their last forms aren't the best of all time.

Get VII has a lot to live up to but it's doing a good job so far

Best overall in terms of design. The only real shitter is Chesnaught, but the gen makes up for it with a ton of GOAT designs (including the literal goat).
