The whole Burmy line is very interesting so thanks for the thread OP

Plant Cloak: 10/10 the flowers is a nice touch. Reminds me of a dryad
Sandy Cloak: 9.5/10 Love how Burmy's pebbles become red gems very clever progression
Trash Cloak: 6.5/10 Doesn't look trashy enough. Is it supposed to look like plastic? They should've put more emphasis on the materials used on that cloak.

Mega Evolutions will continue to expand. You won't see many GenI pokemon getting megas in Sun & Moon; many iconic pokemon from the original games are slated to get one in these remakes (Arcanine is the only sure one so far.)

There will be some core storyline changes, incorporating some of the retcons we've seen in animations like Origins and The Birth of Mewtwo, as well as some elements from the Special/Adventure manga they wanted to include, but couldn't with the technological limitations of the time. Some key points:

>Mega Evolution is the "natural" way of improving pokemon, serves as a key plot element now.
>The dangers of genetic manipulation and artificial pokemon creation is the core theme of the game
>A stronger plot emphasis on Mr. Fuji, Giovanni, and the creation of Mewtwo, with the Master Ball and Mewtwo's recapture being the clear motive for the Silph Co. takeover
>Mew plays an important part in the updated plot, and is capturable in the post-game (the legendary "truck" has a cameo appearance).
>"Thu-fi-zer" (Zapdos/Moltres/Articuno fusion from the manga) at Silph Co. will serve as the Pokemon "tool" similar to legendary mascots in Gen 6. Defeating it frees them from Team Rocket and lets them roam in the overworld (X/Y style) before returning to their iconic locations.
>Blue/Green (the "Gary" rival) will continue to be the rival, but also serve as a partner in key double battles (Lavender town and Silph Co. for sure)

Everything else, including new features, are still very much up in the air. The team is waiting to see how well features in Sun & Moon are received, as well as keeping an eye on how Pokemon GO does following its first major updates.

It's so pedestrian it hurts. There's maybe one fight in the whole game that comes close to a challenge (And I don't get how people had trouble with Whitney, I steamrolled her first time), while everything is just pounding on Youngster Joeys. Lance is also the lowest levelled champion in the series and is a cakewalk to anyone with enough brain cells to remember that he used dragons in RBY and that Dragons are weak to Ice-type attacks.

The region gets absolutely gutted in the transition from Gen I to Gen II. For starters, Cerulean Cave, Seafoam Islands, Pokémon Mansion, Power Plant, Safari Zone and Viridian Bloody Forest are all missing, with the other points of interest drastically scaled down. The oft-lauded Kanto Gym leaders are just as easy as the rest of the game, too. In fact, Blue's team as Viridian city Gym leader is lower levelled than his team as Champion in RBY. The whole place is hollow and lifeless, little more than half a region. And not even the half that's missing from Johto!

The fact that Kanto is in the game makes the underexposure of the Gen II Pokémon in the first half all the more baffling.

The game takes place in two half-regions instead of a whole one. The repetition of old Pokémon and characters throughout the main story makes the game feel small. The new Pokémon and characters either don't show up nearly enough or are just boring. Finally, it chooses Generation I nostalgia bait over actual post-game content.
