So we all know what a defensive Pokemon looks like. It's big, it's bulky, it's slow and probably has a decent attack stat as well.
But what, physically, denotes special defense? What aspect of a Pokemon makes it resistant to special moves? In reality a hard shell would defend you from a flame thrower just as well as a fire punch, so there must be some specific trait that makes a Pokemon special defensive.

Hello /vp/
Given the fact that regular pokémon games bore me to death at the moment (I want to kill time and get to Sun/Moon) I REALLY, REALLY want to play Neo Y.
I followed a guide but said guide only brought me a black screen
I am kind of incompetent with technology, so could anyone bump me a thorough and simple guide as to help me actually play the game? I really look forward to that challenge.
I already homebrewed the 3DS, of course.

Since Sun/Moon are going to be "New Nintendo 3DS Enhanced" games because each new generation of Pokémon spawns together with a new generation of a Nintendo handheld (even if it's merely an enhanced version); what features above the regular 3DS can we expect?
Back when we had other enhanced games that's what we got:
Silver/Gold had Color on the GBC as opposed to no color on the GB.
Black/White could use the DSi's Wi-Fi stack instead of the DS's and it could use the camera.
And now it's Sun/Moon's turn on the N3DS.

Stop this meme. We have no information, that doesn't mean its gone. GF has never removed fighting mechanics this important.
On regards to eelektross, coil + acrobatics with sitrus berry can work wonders since he can tank pretty well without weaknesses

I started with LeafGreen, but it felt wrong somehow and RGB is too damn boring.

if you mean romhacks there are plenty of those, i don't know if there's one that only has gen1 pokemon, but I wouldn't be surprised due to the sheer amount of hacks there are out there. most romhacks seem to add pokemon rather than remove them though.
