I don't think there's been a better batch of well designed Pokemon since Gen 1.

Then we have Hawlucha who pretty much everyone agrees is awesome. We finally got a Grass/Ghost haunted tree and it lived up to the hype. Pangoro, Malamar, Heliolisk are awesome. Barbaracle is an ugly piece of shit badass in the best possible way.
The Mega Evolutions are a lot more hit and miss, but there are plenty of really great ones. Mega Slowbro takes that design to its logical conclusion, with the Shellder now covering his entire body. Mega Sableye rips the gem from his chest to use as a shield and then eats it when he's done. Mega Ampharos shows us what it's like to go...even further...beyond. I could go on. They aren't all bad.

I think that these games, being third versions, just don't have enough new content to sustain a long-term hype train. Gamefreak knows this, so they're procrastinating as long as possible on giving us information. That way, it seems like a lot more because it's condensed within a few months.

Do you think that it doesn't completely delegitimize and defeat the entire purpose of finding a shiny in the first place?
And why do you get so excited when one finally appears after your 5457th reset?
Do you not understand the concept of statistical inevitability, and how that completely devalues the experience of catching shiny, because you're essentially removing the possibility of failure from the equation?

Where the hell amI supposed to download a ROM of Crystal? I need one so I can patch Prism onto it, but all the legit links seem to have been taken down due to nintendo ruining christmas. I know its out there somewhere because other people have been using it to update to version 0.94 of Prism. So where's the beef?

The trials themselves are easy but I found the totem fights a lot more interesting and challenging than 90% of gyms in previous games.
Seeing combos like Wishiwashi + Alomomola and Castform + Lurantis was neat.
They shat the bed with the electric and dragon totem fights though, those were pitiful

so /vp/ i've been trying to come up with a formula to calculate best ev spreads for bulky attackers. i came up with
(18900/(2*defbase+36 +y) + 2)/(2*hpbase +141 + x)
for natural nature and
(18900/((2*defbase+36 +y)*1.1) + 2)/(2*hpbase +141 + x)
for boosting nature.
x is hp evs, y is def evs and also y=256-x
problem is, i found that the minimum of both those functions are the same regardless of nature. what did i miss?

thats why i included 'defbase' and 'hpbase'. those change by the pokemon.
for example, solrock formula would look, after taking the individual stats into account, like this
(18900/(196 +y) + 2)/(261 + x)
or, after substituing y for 256-x
(18900/(452-x) + 2)/(261 + x)
i find the minimum location for this formula via some online plotter and than i see that
x=104
y= 152
but those resuts stay the same even for
(18900/((452-x)*1.1) + 2)/(261 + x)
which is why i made this thread.

EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Play Rough
- Thunder Punch
- Fire Fang
- Sucker Punch
is my Mega Mawile spread, for outrunning all defensive Rotom-W I'd expect to run into. Bulk isn't always the focus. Azumarill abides by this idea of picking a speed tier first and foremost before deciding bulk as well. As do many others.
