>Ash wins league
>movie, or movies, comes out between Kalos region and Alola that showcase his preparation for and battle with the Elite Four and rematch against Champion Diantha
>new region Ash wins
>new movie showcasing his battles against that Elite Four/Champ
>when the anime has enough of a time frame, they can touch light on these movies and make them canon in preparation for a Champion League Arc or something
Why can't they just do something like that?
Fucking shit.
>Ash wins Kalos league
>Travels to Alola for a vacation
>Finds out about island trials
>Sets up League while mentoring new trainer
>Travels to Gen 8 region as representative of the Alola League
>Beats Gen 8 League to legitimize Alola League
>Invited to Champion League in Gen 9 Region
>Loses against a Gen 9's Champion and returns to Alola and relinquishes title to protege
>Travels to Gen 10 region to continue his own journey

That is also my age and wtf happened to my life.
The first Gen I saw being revealed. Oh lord, Sinnoh is so amazing...
Remember Munchlax was revealed on 2004 but the game only released on 2006, and UnovaBabbies complain about a week without news.

Still not as bullshit as Ethan suffering from advanced aging and nearly dying against Oak's Rotom Heat.
Tell me. /vp/, is your favorite gen the first gen you played?
I started with Emerald and Gen III is my favorite, but I haven't played them all
Nope, I started with Gen 1, but Gen 3 is my favorite, hands down.
Gen II, yeah, it's my favorite.
Gen VII might surpass it.

>Wheres the interview saying Masuda won't do two region games anymore?
Find it yourself, cunt
>>28269665
Well good thing masuda is not the director anymore
>>28269665
I dont recall any interview of the sort... Maybe it was back when hg/ss came out? Idk... What i do know is, there was an interview back when ORAS came out where ge explained why character customization wasnt included in those games. He said that since the XY theme was beauty and fashion, he wanted to keep character customization exclusive for those games. However, for some reason, that "xy exclusive" feature is back in sun and moon... Heck, even the character models resemble those used back in xy... Only in a more polished engine, but nothing too drastic either...
And ofc, they managed to implement the zygarde formes (gen 6 pkmn) into sun and moon and "make it part of the main story in a way fans will really like"(as stated by masuda himself on the e3 pannel). In the end, there seems to be an odd gen6/gen7 vibe to sun and moon in general.
Also, were at the 20th anniversary of pkmn so it would make alot of sense to include something as big as 2 regions again in a game. Megas seem to be absent aswell for the moment... Maybe they havent said anything regarding megas in fear that it could spoil the post game?
Who knows... In the end, if they would decide to include another region in sun and moon, kalos would definetly be the top contender. Guess well have to wait and see...

What is the political landscape of the Pokémon world like? What is the governing body? Is there such a thing?
Those with powerful Pokémon seem to command a lot of respect and authority (The Pokémon League Champion, Elite Four, etc.) and conflicts tend to always be resolved by Pokémon battles.
I know there were references to the police, at least in first gen games. There seem to be very few people in a given region, but this is likely due to technical limitations and game limitations (the game would not be as fun/doable if there were literally thousands or hundreds of thousands of people in a given city with buildings to accommodate them). The reason I bring up the small number of people is because it's nowhere near as difficult to govern a small group as it is to govern a large group (tribes vs. sprawling continental civilizations).
Additionally, capitalism seems to be alive and well, with companies like Silph and Devon flourishing. These companies are celebrated by the people, and their works are appreciated and used throughout the Pokémon world, as far as I can tell.
If I had to guess, I'd say that the Pokémon world is something like an anarcho-capitalist utopia where everyone is just kind of not a dick (friendly culture, almost utopian).
Thoughts?
The fact that there's a police force (that seems state-funded as opposed to privately owned ) hints at some form of government. I'd argue that the Pokemon world is libertarian with an extremely minimized central government that sets in place certain laws (like not being able to capture another trainer's pokemon) and has police officers enforce those laws, for the most part towns act as unique states that follow their own beliefs and customs assuming it fits right in with the government's laws. Pokemon rangers seem more like the counterpart of our police officers in the sense of how important they are to retaining order. As you said, most people in the Pokemon world aren't dicks so police officers aren't that necessary but crazy wild pokemon wreaking havoc seems semi-commonplace hence why rangers would be important. War seems very uncommon, it's weird to think of any of the regions fighting against another so I doubt there's an active military but I assume that the elite 4/champion, gym leaders, and various powerful trainers are contracted by the government to deal with large threats towards the region's peace (like a legendary going berserk or an evil team being evil).

>Libertarian
With social programs like the Pokémon center lmao?
It's a social democracy, albeit one kept as weak and small as possible.
When the starters were first announced, I took an immediate liking to Popplio. It's cute, but it also has the most potential. I'm not surprised that the fakemon evolutions for Popplio are very diverse and unique in design. Popplio's design lends itself well to a number of creative interpretations.
I love the Pierrot-inspired design for Popplio2. Even if it does turn out to be fake, I feel it merits credit for being so culturally rich in inspiration. It's an ingenious blend of mermaid, circus acrobat, and Pierrot clown. It's a striking and very artsy design.
Popplio3 is elegant, sleek, and refreshingly feminine. I love the mythology of mermaids, and I think a Pokemon specializing in vocal attacks (like Disarming Voice) is very exciting. Its cool color scheme is pleasing to the eye.
I just love these designs, and I'm very excited to see them in the game. I was wondering if anyone else felt the same (whether for Popplio or the other starters).

I thought Popplio2 used to look a bit ugly, but more of the art made of her is starting make me warm up to her.
