Here is my theory on Type: Null's name.
Type: Null is a synthetic Pokemon assigned to Gladion.
Gladion's chuuni-ass personality might drive him to giving his Pokemon a chuuni-ass name like Type: Null.
tl;dr Gladion gave it that name, or at least that is what he calls it.
