Limit you to using the same number of Pokemon as the opposing trainer in any given battle.

You still have your team of six, but any time you send in a Pokemon, it locks that in as part of your team for that fight. So if you're against a trainer that uses 2, you're locked into whichever two you send out first.

The trick is to grind all your guys 5-10 levels between each gym.
It sucks but if you don't then you end up in your situation, not underleveled but just sort of stuck.
5-10 levels per mon keeps you at a good pace.

I think this new gimmick is geared more towards children. Especially because of the dancing and the flashy effects.

I don't think there are enough options. I mean, I like them, but I worry what they want them to be for the series. They want these to be turn around moves. Something to make matches not always so straight forward. But will that mean that they will be powerful enough for that purpose? Will they end up being so powerful that they are expected that everyone uses them? At that point, it just becomes mundane, just like Megas.

So while I will enjoy them in the story, for competative, it will probably just turn out meh.
