It all makes sense when you consider that they're called Z-Moves. It's obvious with you having to collect all the Zygarde cores and cells throughout the story that Zygarde itself will play a big, if not important role within the story. My guess is that it's linked to the Z-Moves and Z-Power.

Not to mention that in this episodes that's coming up, Zygarde's cells are making an appearance again, so it all comes together.
