M-Swampert is tearing up OU. Excadrill is pretty good too.

And in RU/NU/PU, Aurorus + A-Sandslash is quickly becoming the equivalent of Baton Pass teams. There's no dedicated counter to them. Two fucking Ice types.

Those are the decent remakes of the ACTUAL most mediocre Pokemon games

Being the first remakes, it was genuinely unexpected at the time.
It also introduced a good number of quality of life features (most of which haven't returned, kek).
And not to mention the advantage of having Gen 1's Kanto design, making it distinctly a different play than Gen 3's Hoenn. We haven't really had an open region like Kanto since Sinnoh, and FRLG play a lot faster than DPP.

They only use female characters that appear in the story regardless of which gender you pick.

May is a rival.
Dawn is Rowan's assistant.
Hilda/Rosa only appear in the Battle Subway, Iris is a Gym Leader.
Serena is a rival.
The plot is centered around Lillie.

So, Iris was chosen over Hilda, and Lillie was chosen over Chicken.

We used to have an active general thread but it slowly ended up dying, much like the game itself. It hasn't died yet the userbase is declining. Hopefully the new update will fix some things, but it won't fix the power creep.

Damn, I must have missed the train with this game. I must be pretty lucky with my draws too, even ended up getting two Greninja and a Yveltal pretty quickly.

Seems like a lot of the featured battlers have Mew, Zapdos, or Speed Deoxys form though. I'm guessing those are the best figures in the game right now?

Many of the figures on featured battles are meta, yes. And there are only about 12 or so figures in the meta. And most decks revolve around these figures. It's kind of annoying actually, because when you start in the lower leagues there are swathes of figures people play with, but once you get to the higher leagues, all the decks become more similar

I think they were really cool. The ones that gave me trouble are lurantis and mimikyu. I hope usm has new totems(Pokémon that havent been totems)
