Why the fuck did gamefreak think it was a good idea to make Gen 7 pokemon a fucking chore to find, yet they made older gen pokemon show up like nothing, I can't tell you how many times I've searched for a pokemon i wanted to train, and found 5 Fearrow, 6 Skarmory, and a ditto before I fucking found my minior.
The proof is in the fucking pudding, just look at some of these batshit insane encounter rates
>Crabrawler only spawns randomly in berry trees, which reset every 24 hrs, which means you can miss him until like the 3rd/4th island depending on your luck
>Crabominable is only obtained in snow, WHICH IS THE LAST FUCKING AREA OF THE GAME, MAKING CRABRAWLER FUCKING USELESS.
>Occorio has a 15% spawn rate in its own damn meadow
>Wishiwashi has to be farmed via fishing and has a 10% chance of showing compared to poliwag, and psyduck which each have 40%
>Mareanie is a FUCKING NIGHTMARE because it only shows up on a 5% corsola, spawn, 5% of the time via SOS calls
>Dewpider/Araquanid rarely ever show in their areas and can easily be missed with all the fucking poliwag and chinchou in the area
>mudbray is easily missed due to low chances
>Fomantis and Morelull have fucking 15% spawn rates where as cotonee and petillill have 60%
>Stufful almost never shows up
>Bounsweet is another rarity
>Comfey is even rarer
>Wimpod is a fucking gimmick mon
>Sandygast/Pyukumu spawn randomly on beaches
>Mimikyu is a gimmick spawn
>Type Null is handed to you endgame
>Minior is a goddamn chore to farm thanks to fearrow and skarmory
>I never even found a fucking Togedemaru
>Dhelmise has a 5% fishing rate, where as mantine and tentacruel have 40% -70%
>Jagmo-o isnt till the last island
So outside Rockruff, Gumshoos and ..Pikipek? Why the fuck did gamefreak make it impossible to form a decent team without grinding your ass off, and then for things like Maerinie, which can take HOURS, the payoff is that Toxapex absolutely fucking sucks due to shitty stat distro.
It's to make them more unique since they know mostly experienced players will want to find new mons, whilst kids won't care, and genwunners only want Gen 1 pokemon.
It's to make the game harder, requiring using knowledge and planning strategies so getting them is easier.
It's to make them far more special since you worked hard to get them.
But go ahead and complain that the game is too easy or too short or something.
Sounds like Johto.

>the payoff is that Toxapex absolutely fucking sucks due to shitty stat distro.
Do us all a favor and never play Pokemon again
Flawless Incineroar.

You should know exactly where that belongs.
gijinka fags should hang
The third Alola game will be named PokemonClouds
But the moon is already clouds
>not PokemonEclipse
>>30099725
The third gen4 game wasn't Gem, it would be redundant to name it after a synonym of one of the original two games of the generation
1. Sun and Moon
2. RSE
3. HGSS
4. FRLG
5. BW2
6. Platinum
7. XY
8. GSC
9. D/P
10. ORAS
11. GRBY
FRLG is awful by today's standards
BW2 is my favorite but BW2 and SM are the only Pokemon that really stand out as outstandign games to me.
Maybe Crystal too, but that's mostly just nostalgia.
are these supposed to be quality of the games?
because if so holy shit this thread is off to a delusional start. Sun and Moon at the fucking bottom, if not second to last.
just because something is superficially prettier doesn't mean the games themselves are better.
WHY THE FUCK IS DHELMISE GRASS/GHOST
It could have been water/ghost, water/steel, steel/ghost, anything. We only have one pokemon for each of those types. But no, fucking grass/ghost again, when we already had one this gen and two the last gen.
>b-but the pokedex says the seaweed is the real pokemon, so it makes sense!
No it doesn't. Let's ignore the fact that nobody gives a shit about the dex, and descriptions are made after the pokemon is created.
It still doesn't fucking make sense anyway. I'm pretty sure that anchor is made of steel, since it's an object possessed by the pokemon, and only a fucking retard would make a wooden anchor, that would be useless.
So basically, this pokemon is made of around 80% steel, 10% seaweed and 10% spooky ghosts, and yet it's grass/ghost. It's like if palossand was pure ghost, because the sand is not the pokemon itself, it's just a pile of sand possessed by a ghost. It's fucking retarded.
So, is grass/ghost gamefreak's new running joke or what? They're ditching fire/fighting for grass/ghost, right? I bet there's gonna be two grass/ghosts in gen 8 too, hold me /vp/.
>>30099647
who cares that much tho
>>30099647
Is Spiritomb a rock type because it's bound to the Odd Keystone?
AuTiSm
Should Pokemon develop its romantic elements? All the cool RPGs have done it. Don't tell me you're satisfied with the way things are now. It's getting stronger by the gen and the blueballing is getting worse.
>>30099583
Just make something like with Yancy and include a semi-date side quest or something.
Or have the girl/dude blush at the end of the game for a tease.
They should save it for PokemonXPersona
>>30100224
>Just make something like with Yancy and include a semi-date side quest or something.
This. I was really surprised by the romance side-quest in BW2. Didn't expect something like this from GF.
>Battle Royal isn't last man standing
Why would they make it end once someone is out? Does anyone agree with this?
>>30099552
Because it would then otherwise completely outclass free-for-alls in double battles
They don't want the first loser to get bored.
>>30099552
It isn't?
>5%
People need to be fired over this shit
Just inject it :^)
they know you'll find it regardless, no matter how low they make the rate
it's the illusion of "challenge"
>>30099492
takes like 10 mins,
stop being a nerd.
Is it viable?
It's by no means trash, but its movepool is pretty sparse and it only has Wish as recovery.
That said in the current Toxapex meta, it's not bad. People don't know what Comatose so you regularly manage to get an SD in, and then you've got STAB returns or can do a pretty hefty Sucker Punch.
>>30099529
so
-swords dance
-return
-sucker punch
-play rough
?
or wood hammer, or earthquake
>>30099423
I tried using a defensive set on showdown and it wasn't terrible.
which gen had the best music and why was it pic related?
>>30099405
I don't know, Gen 7 may overthrow it.
>>30099405
I literally only remember gold and silver music, like rival and gym themes. Who the fuck even played slow ass gen4
>>30099405
My favorite music used to be gen 3 (in large part due to nostalgia desu) but I'm playing through Platinum and it's given me a new appreciation of gen 4's music. It has lot of really nice tracks.
Guzma thread?
>>30099387
Uuuuh... Technically, nah.
Have you ever stolen a legendary Pokemon? Like a real Ultra Beast?
It dominates every aspect of the metagame, and everyone knows it. How can it be fixed? I have some thoughts...
The main problem stems from speed being an all-or-nothing stat. Either you are faster, or you are not, and since moving first is such a huge advantage, simply ignoring it to focus on another stat isn't a viable option most of the time. At the same time, if you are NOT faster, then all that speed investment is completely wasted.
What game freak is trying to do now just looks like a bandaid, if it even works at all. The speed stat itself must change.
My first thought was to take away the "all or nothing" aspect. My next thought was to make pokemon only have a chance to go first, perhaps, if their speed is within a certain range of each other. This should loosen up the metagame considerably, and change the typical EV spread to put you outside a much larger speed threat range, instead of just being 1 point higher. Even if you are not outside the threat range completely, you can increase your chance of going first by pumping a few extra points into speed, tipping odds to your side a bit. Though, I also recognize the dangers of adding YET ANOTHER random element to the game.
Another idea I had was to tie speed to another mechanic. Remembering back to gen1, where speed determined crit rate, where fast mons would crit constantly, and slow mons hardly ever crit at all. Back then, crits interacted differently with stat boosts, ignoring even your own boosts, meaning you couldnt swords dance x 3 and one shot everything every turn, if you were critting constantly. The problem with this today, is that it would necessitate changing how crits or stat boosts worked, all over again.
Or they could just add more moves that benefit slower pokemon, but that just creates another extreme, and the middle ground is still ignored.
What's /vp/'s take on the matter?
Make Trick Room last longer
that's how speed works in every rpg, there's no way to balance it more than they have
Trick Room needs an autosetter and an extender item for one. Terrain teams are already seeing use now thanks to the Tapus
The Alolamons as a whole are so slow they're honestly begging for trick room teammates. Oranguru would've been a good candidate for an autosetter. Maybe give it to some older mons too like Slowking
Consider the following.
UB-1 Is a parasite that pretty much encourages and drives you towards your desires and gives you the relevant boost need.
So what would happen if it got a hold ofA slutty Milf?
What would have happened if Guzma didn't get rid of it in time?
>>30099281
he would'vebeen in a coma like lusamine
>>30099261
didnt it already do that
Your thoughts on Z-moves?
>>30099254
Very cool addition, much more usefull than megas.
A lot of unpredictibilty.
I love how some moves have unique Z effects.
>>30099254
Stronger Gems that have special aninations and can't be consumed. Honestly, I wanted them to be consumed to then use Acrobatics right away on anything.
I like them a lot, reminds me of the Spectacular Talent moves from the Contests in ORAS which were always fun.
I do find it slightly odd that they came after Megas and not the other way around though.
