The .cia files uploaded by Lurantis are effectively the same as the new ones and the files on Nintendo's servers (legally bought digital copies/FreeShop downloads).
Downloading the game from the FreeShop is completely fine.

Just copy and paste one of the patched code.bins into SD:/luma/code_sections
Hold select when booting Luma to open up the config menu, turn on "Enable region/language emu. and ext. .code" and press start

Extract the patched code.bins and rename them to 00175E00.code for Moon and 00164800.code for Sun.
Place it in SD:/hans/
Start up the homebrew menu and open HANS, open Pokemon through it.
Finally, use the in-game QR scanner and you're golden.

I'm currently experiencing a conundrum, /vp/bros. I'm not very far into the game, and I've already noticed that "areas" are not as solidly defined in this new release as they had been in previous games.

Catching something on Route 1 was a given, but then upon heading to the Pokemon Lab the map calls the area "Route 1 Hau'oli Outskirts". Is this technically a new area since the area name changed? I caught something anyways, using that logic.

Then there's heading over to the School. The area name didn't change walking toward the school, but entering the schoolyard went through a loading screen, as it would entering a cave. Do I consider this also a new area? What about further in, like on Route 2 where there's a graveyard in a little secluded area off the main path?

last friday I was standing in a pokemon only line for walmarts midnight release.

notice all the moon bros are wearing all black and wallet chains.

know they where moon bros because they all freaked out when the cashier ask the manager if they had more moon copies in the back since she ran out.

I get to cut in line because the edge lords refuse to buy sun and that is the version I want.

pay for my game and walk out.
