Soaring was made to make the old region appealing and new again. A new perspective of a place all players could have been before.

They said it wouldn't be back for new Gens, but may come back for remakes.

I don't see what the big deal about that is. Everyone knew soaring was going to be gone and it was nothing special anyway. What made it so great? Being able to do a barrel roll or a backflip? Flying over a region that you couldn't change the camera to look down at?

In R/S/E I liked to hide my character under those big trees in Mossdeep; if you faced away from the trunk you were perfectly hidden. So I'd stand under there and pretend I was playing hide-and-seek with a friend who was running around in the same overworld
