Sun/Moon's biggest mistake right here.
I can't for the life of me understand how we went from the PSS in XY and ORAS to this clusterfuck of a system, Everything is so clunky and poorly designed that it just kills my willingness to trade and battle other people.
I'm not sure why they thought it'd be a good idea to have the player be completely cut off from the online infrastructure while playing the campaign and concentrating it inside of this place. If you're not chatting with your friends elsewhere and want to trade with them you can't even be playing at the same time, it requires you to GO to the Plaza in order to find them in the middle of incredibly bland and poorly designed menus. Sure, you can set them as VIPs once you do find them, but how did we go from the Friend/Passerby system, that looked really neat and tidy, to a boring list? Jesus.
I'm not sure if this is GF's plan and solution for the Switch not having dual screens, but it's a poor one and really killed a lot of the charm that the online in XY/ORAS had.

That's nice and all, but I'd take a simple copy of the PSS hidden behind a button in the menu than "now save your game" and "now wait til we transfer you somewhere else" and "now you go through menus that are actually worse to navigate than the stuff we had before to find your friends" etc.
Everything about the Plaza feels really slow and grindy and... unnecessary. It could've been better implemented but as it is, just full nope for me.

My game gets stuck when I receive an egg, the music still works but theres no movement or response, not evem gome button works.
Using Luma I download a savegame because can't stand all the cut scenes bullshit, juat wanna breed and have pokemon battles.

Pokemon is a major money-maker. In 2014 it made $1.5 billion. It's also an iconic series, almost as iconic as Super Mario. So we know that Pokemon isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It seems to be one of those video games that will always be "a thing" due to it's popularity and appeal to both new/old fans(besides a couple special snowflakes here on /vp/)similarly to the Super Mario series. But each game adds more and more Pokemon. Eventually there's going to be well over 1,000 (if not 2,000). So how will they make it more realistic and feasible to catch them all?
Gamefreak has already made it easier to acquire more Pokemon much quicker as the series has progressed. Be it through events, the new scanner system, the GTS, Poke Pelago, etc. But what will they do in the future? Will they simply create more ways to make it easier to catch all the Pokemon, or will they simply continue what the did in Sun and Moon and only use the Regional Dex as a requirement to get the Shiny Charm rather than the National Dex? Technically, you'd still be "catching them all", but just only in the region you're currently in rather than all the regions.
My prediction is that Gamefreak will continue adding more Pokemon (perhaps at a rate similar to Gens 6 and 7) and will focus much more on regional completion than national completion. Of course, they could always add a special reward for catching every single one, but that's a different discussion entirely.
What are your thoughts?
