Clangorous Soulblaze is a species-exclusive Z-Move that can:
a) Hit both opponents in Doubles, and
b) Raise Kommo-o's five stats by a single stage.

Meanwhile, most other species-exclusive Z-Moves don't have additional effects. The only exceptions are Alolan Raichu's Stoked Sparksurfer (which paralyzes an opponent that it hits if it can) and Mew's Genesis Supernova (which sets up a Psychic Terrain), and 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt (which has a sharply increased critical hit ratio). Eevee's Z-Move Extreme Evoboost doesn't count, as the boost is the only element of this move.

Sinister Arrow Raid, Malicious Moonsault, Oceanic Operetta, Catastropika, Guardian of Alola, Pulverizing Pancake, Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike... None of those moves have additional effects.

It's disgusting how Game Freak decided only now that species-exclusive Z-Moves should have an additional effect. They won't retcon the moves without effects so unfortunately we won't get anything like Decidueye getting a stat boost when it uses Sinister Arrow Raid.

This sucks.

Promo Salazzle comes out soon. Anyone else find it kind of weird that they're doing a promo Salazzle though?

She was one of the few gen 7 mons not revealed before launch, and she's been ignored in both the anime and manga. I know she's primarily to promote the Burning Shadows expansion, but there are a whole lot of other, more recognizable GX Pokemon in that expansion they could've used, like Gardevoir or Charizard. Hell, maybe give us Marshadow, since he's the expansion's poster child.

Forgive the autism, but am I the only one who misses the more restrictive movepools of past generations? I'm not talking about the gen 1 retardation where Pokemon didn't even get any good STAB moves for one or more of their types(Looking at you Zard), I just miss it when not every pokemon and their mother could learn a 120 BP special fighting type move.

There were always Pokemon with good coverage(Usually normal types), and there were always really good moves that almost anybody could learn like EQ, Surf and BoltBeam, but now there's Stone Edge, Focus Blast, Sucker Punch/Knock Off, Hurricane, and the list goes on and on. And of course there's Stealth Rock. Spikes is limited to a select few Pokemon, Sneaky Pebbles is handed out like cancerous candy, and is flat out better than Spikes.

Combine this with powercreep in moves in general(fuck Boomburst) and suddenly every pokemon runs the same few moves, and anybody who doesn't have them is garbage because they can't compete. I just wish less pokemon had been given absurdly stronk coverage moves. Hard-hitting moves of many types should've been a bonus, not a requirement.
